Overview
Intro
Thumbelina joins after defeating the 2nd chapter core guardian. Her ability Tiny Princess shrinks or unshrinks items. Shrinking an item changes its stats. Unshrinking a shrunken item returns the original item. Most shrunken items become worse than the original, a few are "neutral" (some stats increases while other decrease), and some become better. This guide only lists items that are "neutral" or become better. I have placed asterisks (*) after neutral items.

Example
Here's an example of Tiny Princess. You should keep in storage, Alice's starting body armor, Prisoner Garb. It provides just 1 Def, when shrunk into SM Prisoner Garb, it provides 25 HP, 14 Def, 5 Men, 1 Luc. This guide does not list element resistances (Air, Water, Earth, Lightning, and Fire resistance) but you can assume that shrinking items not followed by an * will increase element resistances. In fact, Prisoner Garb has -5 element resistance, but SM Prisoner Garb has 12 element Resistance.

Note that shrinking/unshrinking will permanently remove prefixes and upgrades from equipment.

Items that can be shrunk/unshrunk
All equipment can be shrunk and unshrunk. However, this is not the case with consumable items. Shrinking a consumable item is permanent. Consumable items should NOT be shrunk because all result in worse items with only a few exceptions. Intuitively, key items (keys, memos, etc) cannot be shrunk, except the Heart Slate in Waterway dungeon.

This guide is for Mary Skelter : Nightmares. Items in the remake of Nightmares in Mary Skelter 2 may be different.

If there are errors, missing items, or questions, please comment.

Should note resistance changes to armor/head/accessories as well, if possible. Some items get significant changes to resistance values. Prisoner Garb goes from -5 all resists to +12 all resists for SM Prisoner Garb. You can get the resist numbers in the enhance equipment screen.

also, your info about the lucky dress is incorrect.

it changes from
def +45, men +48, luc +8
to
hp +25, men +60, luc +60

for a change of
+25 hp, -45 def, +12 men, +52 luc
Icedfate 21 Jun, 2024 @ 10:11am
also, not sure if it's worth noting, but i found a nurse's cap, and shrinking it changes the stats from
def +49 men +44 luc +4
to
def +30 men +27 agi +6 luc +3

mostly worse, but it's similar to the greatswords in that it adds agility when shrunk.malso, to build on what someone below said is that shrinking it changes the upgrade path so upgrading it gives +1 def and +1 tec, making it better for a healer, but then, i have SM power headband , not sure which one is better

interesting that someone below mentioned the cheat cards. .and the author never added it to the list, but then later, someone else asked "is that everything?" and the author replied "yes, that's everything. ."
Horizen  [author] 25 Aug, 2021 @ 6:01pm
That should be all the equipment.
kirito 24 Aug, 2021 @ 11:13am
is this all the ones that you knw of? or is there more that we don't knw off
Stungun 24 May, 2020 @ 6:14pm
There seems to be a general rule for shrinking weapons, with only a few exceptions. Base stats are reduced by 40% (this includes stat penalties, and both elemental resistance bonuses and penalties), and the item's growth (that is, what stats increase when strengthening) changes to TEC and DEF only. Some weapon classes also tend to have other benefits. Like, shrinking most large swords will add a small elemental resistance bonus, and their AGI penalty will be almost entirely flipped to a bonus.

Shrunk versions of weapons tend to only cost A and B blood crystals to strengthen so they're rather cheap to max out.
Stungun 24 May, 2020 @ 6:06pm
Cheat Cards get a serious boost from being shrunk. HP 16->25, SP 16->30 (though it loses its strengthening growth), ATK 5->7, TEC 10->35 (and gains growth). AGI up 3, but it loses its MEN (5) and LUC (6). Also gains +5 to all resists except Fire (which is +10).
Horizen  [author] 19 Apr, 2019 @ 8:29am
I don't think crystals benefit from shrinking.

There is no crystal equipment?
