Winning La-La Land

La-La Land has been a quite hard scenario to win for me. This guide describes how I beat it in the end.

Apprentice Level
Even though the Tycoon Level is the hardest part, the Apprentice Level starts off pretty difficult, too.
In La-La Land, you cannot get money by loan, so you start off with 15,000.
You have to build a running park with only that money, and it seems to just melt all the time.

As the scenario text says, the people of the nearby Tinsel Town are true jerks.
They all have similar things they want, and the have pretty exact wishes in terms of pricing.
To me, it's been difficult to understand what this means: Just because the line on a ride is full, it doesn't neccessarily mean that you can increase the price. Also, the peeps seem to be paying a little less compared to other scenarios.

To make the VIP happy, I can recommend building the Reverse FreeFall Coaster "Escape From Planet Earth". This also helps in the next level.

One last thing: The Observation Tower that you start with was bugged for me. It started over and over without letting peeps in our out, which lead to a long line, lots of frustrated peeps and missing income. I deleted that attraction. Consider doing the same if you happen to see this issue happening.
Entrepreneur Level
In the Entrepreneur Level, the only new thing is that Clint Bushton wants to see a MixMaster firework display.
If you don't know how to build one, replay the tutorials 😉

You should (always) build firework displays near paths, so peeps can watch them.
Shortly before the firework starts, simply grab Clint Bushton and drop him near the display.
Peeps can divert his attention from the show, so it's good to have a longer one.

Before you build your second roller coaster for the second VIP, you should have a nice park with a few rides that generate income. A second roller coaster can otherwise drain your last money, which is bad since there's no loan in the scenario.
Tycoon Level
The tycoon level was so annoying that it made me write this guide once I finished it.

The two VIPs want some special areas to be in: Clint Bushton wants a Sci-Fi area and Joe Sluggerball wants to visit an adventure themed area.

The biggest problem for me was that I like to build beautiful parks (probably like most RCT fans do) and that La-La Land offers you lots of possibilities to do so.
The two VIPs, however, kind of want you to deface it.

Before I talk a lot about how you make them happy, I'll just give you two screenshots:

This is what makes Joe happy. This area is designed to make Joe Sluggerball happy. Place an adventure themed ride somewhere (notice the filters above your attraction list to get one) and build lots of palms around it.
Putting a lot of sand and a path like Underwater Tunnel around it may help, too.
Put the ride on the VIP route, maybe even drag and drop him there when he enters the park.
Doesn't work? More palms.

Do you like space plants? Bushton does. Just like a pretty face. And this is what Clint Bushton, the landscape blotter, wants you to build. Same idea here: A Sci-Fi themed attraction surrounded by lots ot space plants, Sci-Fi paths and a ton of space lamps.
If you want to give him a convenient floor texture, use Dirt.

This absolutely works! For Bushton I created a small section with an Observation Tower and put a ton of Sci Fi trees and decorations around. I used cracked mud for the land base. I also turned the music on for the ride using Sci Fi themed music. For Slugger I did the same thing except with a pirate ship, sand for the base, plenty of Adventure themed trees and decorations plus Adventure themed music.

Really appreciate this for revealing what I needed to impress them. Thanks!

I played this level 8 times before I beat it! I had lots of adventure theming and trees galore but nothing. The last two times I even had a full green line under his park opinion and still couldn't please him. The only thing I noticed when I finally did beat it was that I won the award for Best Adventure theming. Beat it right after winning that award so I think that might be the key!

Hint from a lazy player; I just slammed SciFi stuff in one area, put 4 rides in it and set the VIPs waypoints along that area. He was content.

I didn't realize that the observation tower was glitched and lost so much money from it. I had to use cheats. I hate this scenario so much lol

I am so glad I found this guide I had no clue what it meant by sci-fi and adventure themed as the other parks hadn't requested it, and no having a loan was hard, thanks for this guide, I won the level because of this

Thanks! I'll give this a shot. This is a poorly designed level. There is no way to tell from the game how close you are to achieving your goal or impressing the VIPs. Without that feedback you are just shooting blindly.

Thank you soooo much, i was hoping small scenery sections would do the trick but nope. I was losing my freaking mind on this map. 3 or 4 hours into it i wanted to throw my laptop out the window

Just to add, the observation tower is indeed bugged. It gets broken and the mechanic visits but it doesn't get fixed. However... closing it and then opening it again seems to make it work. Or you can just delete it and put something else there.

You need to crank the research up high once you have the park up and running and profitable, so you get the themed rides for later. Obviously, you don't bother researching the things you won't need like transport, water rides etc.
