Anarchy Addict- A Mecromancer Build
By Sickologist
Hey everybody! Uncle Sickø here, back with the third guide in my Borderlands 2 character series.

Today, I'll be showing you my Mecromancer build. There are so many Mecro builds out there, and some of them are genuinly amazing when it comes to strategy and raw damage output. Because of this, you might be asking, Hey Sickø, WTF man. Can't we just build around one of those?

And the answer would be yes, but I've run into problems that I'll discuss, and then I'll show you my solution.

Do you like killing things? Do you like reading two questions in a row?

The Problems-
In a nutshell, not enough damage and too much reliance on accuracy.
The Solution-

They said I could be anything. So I became the God of Damage.

Most of the points spent are there to support stack building, to avoid losing them by building efficient defenses, and then to power up Ramone, my magnificent Deathtrap. We're going to take advantage of weapons and abilities that practically remove accuracy from the equation, letting us focus on sheer damage and survivability. We outsource accuracy with Close Enough and Nth degree, paired with our weapons; Fibber, Grog Nozzle, Norfleet, and... one surprise weapon. Make your guesses now as to what it might, and be sure to post in the comments if you got it right.

I have everything set up like this because it works best for me, and I'll explain why, but I'm not gonna send the Gestapo after you if you personalize it. Have some fun with it and feel free to respond with any questions, concerns, or tips you may have.
Ordered Chaos Tree
At the bottom, we have Smaller, Lighter, Faster and Anarchy. Even if these weren't required for the tree, we'd have them, because they are awesome.

At the next level, we have Preshrunk Cyberpunk to increase our stack ceiling, which will be further empowered by a Slayer of Terramorphous (SoT) mod. Blood Soaked shields gives you full shield at the cost of 5% hp with every kill. This is a token sacrafice that gets mitigated by our healing measures. Robot Rampage makes Ramone a beast among bots, in addition to giving us a solid distraction while you go about your business.

At level 3, we get Discord. The utility of this ability makes it well worth the point it takes for activation. It lets you keep most of your stacks when you're forced to reload, as well as giving you accuracy and decent healing when you have stacks to burn, which you will. We also give five points to Typecast Iconocast. This ability randomly increases our stacks when we would normally only get one. This is invaluable, since we are trying to get to such a high number. While Annoyed Android is a nice ability, some points needed to be spared for the Best Friends Forever tree, which we will discuss soon.

Level 4 only gets one point for Rational Anarchist. This gives us a little leg up as we're building, as well as letting us "loop" Discord effectively, if we find ourselves in a bind while we have low stacks. I prefer to skip Death From Above, because I jump a lot in combat to avoid fire, and this burns stacks faster than I gain them, without much damage to show for it. If you like it, feel free to pull points from another ability to activate it.

Next, we put five points into Nth Degree, which lets our bullets pass from one target to the next, increasing our already intense damage output, and giving us one of our main sources of accuracy.

I prefer to activate With Claws. Unlike Death From Above, it only burns one stack, while potentially gaining it back at the same time. At higher stack levels, it makes your melee strikes viable a alternatives to shooting, just in case.

It can be a challenge to get this many stacks, but they do build fairly quickly, and if time is a constraint, they can be farmed. I'll discuss how to do this later.

Little Big Trouble Tree
This kit uses a couple items with Electric qualities that this tree could amp, but it's a bad idea. The wonders that Evil Enchantress, let alone Interspersed Outburst, would do for this kit are no excuse for ditching 20+ points to do so. It takes the wind right out of our little Addict's sails.

Move on folks. Nothing to see here.
Best Friends Forever Tree
The bottom of Best Friends Forever (BFF) gives our little Addict one of her favorite toys, Close enough. It lets us ignore our lack of accuracy. Abusing it costs us some of our damage, but with high stacks, this is rarely noticable. We avoid Cooking Up Trouble, because it's passive healing just just too underwhelming to merit the loss of five points, especially considering our other healing options.

Next, We put 5 points in The Better Half. This is lets us burn through a mag faster, increasing damage per second (DPS) and getting us our next stack faster. We put two points into Fancy Mathematics as well. This feels token, but it activates the SoT buff, and 2 points lets us build to higher tiers easier without ditching a point in something else. We neglect Buck Up because I want Ramone to focus on killing instead of randomly stopping to restore a little of my shield, or a lot of my enemies shields.

In the third tier, We only activate Upshot Robot. This keeps Ramone out longer to browbeat enemies and provide a distraction that makes the long cooldown worthwhile. We also activate Unstoppable Force to help increase survivability while fighting in hoards, as well as a little speed boost to help you get to them faster. Potent as a Pony goes unused, because without a Roboteer mod, it is simply too underwhelming to ditch any points into.

The next level gets two points. One for Explosive Clap to give Ramone another ace to gamble with, and the other into Made of Sterner Stuff. After all my talk about not ditching single points into weak abilities, why did I do this? Because SoT gives it another four points, buffing Ramones melee, and giving us five points towards more survivability for just one point.

Moving up a tier, we fill give five points to 20% Cooler, letting us send Ramone out more often to pimp slap some psychos while we work towards getting our stack fix.

With our last point we activate Sharing is Caring. This increases Ramones survivability, and lets him take advantage of our shield's ability, which I will discuss later.

If Ordered Chaos is our Excalibur, then BFF is it's enchanted sheath. Use it wisely and you'll be practically invincible.
The Guns-
The first weapon slot goes to the Fibber, specifically with barrel 2. You'll know it because it's the only one that has fast moving bullets that ricochet. These ricochets will split into nine bullets that have a chance to target enemies with Gaiges abilities. There is the argument that this is an exploit because the bullets from the split get the targeting from Close enough, without having their damage reduced like most guns. I can niether confirm or deny this, but your damage will be so high at 600 stacks, that it may not matter. I've used several Fibber prefixes, and the ones that seem to work best are Redundant and Dynamic. Redundant deals extra damage, which is nice, but it burns through your ammo supply twice as fast. Dynamic has an increased fire rate that gets you stacks faster without wasting more ammo than necissary.

The next weapon slot gets filled by the Grog Nozzle, a weapon I have come to adore. I rarely actually fire it, instead pulling it out to heal with melee or a grenade. I was confounded by it's "drunk" effect for a while, which decreases accuracy and fire rate, while firing extra bullets at no extra ammo cost. It renders Fibber practically useless for a few seconds, so I spent a long time finding a viable option to use this and the answer came from a most unexpected place. Also, as confirmed by the Bl2 Wiki, if you go into FFYL with Nozzle out, you will not lose stacks when revived, even if you switch weapons.

The third weapon is my surprise. The Pimpernel. Yes, a sniper rifle. Was your guess even close? You're amazing if it was. Now, before you tempt me fruits and sweet breads, tie me up, then chant while throwing me into an active volcano, hear me out. At low stacks (below 250) it gives you the high damage of a sniper rifle, while letting you crit. At higher stacks (300-400) you have an assault rifle that throws out orbs of it's particular element. The damage of these orbs is based on the damage the rifle did, meaning they get more powerful with stacks. At your stack ceiling (600) you're so inaccurate that normal snipers can't be predicted, but Pimpernels splash effect broadens its shots so unloading will get considerable results. At all of these levels, the Grog Nozzle boost is halariously useful. Up to 400, it essentially give you a high damage shotgun that puts out an elemental cloud. At your ceiling, firing 5 shots with maximum innaccuracy puts out 5 shots that sends clouds and bouncing bullets all around you, damaging anything near, and letting Nth Degree and Close Enough get a solid workout. At this point, I'm sure you're asking, "Uncle Sickø, if you're pretending this sniper rifle is a shotgun or assault rifle, why didn't you choose one of those?" and the answer is, "Because it's a Pimp." And also the damage- to- accuracy trade. Assault Rifles are exposed to the same inaccuracy and damage penalties as a sniper rifle, but the sniper comes out with more damage and higher accuracy. Yes, AR's have a higher fire rate, but that's moot since it's main purpose is to utalize the "Drunk" effect, which breaks fire rate anyway. Same goes for shotguns. They fire lots of pellets, each with low damage. Their purpose is to get as many pellets on target to maxamize damage, but the "Drunk" effect wastes too many pellets to be viable, especially at higher stack levels.

Fourth is the Norfleet. This launcher gets consistently amazing results. It normally fires three orbs with high damage, and low accuracy. Paired with the Grog Nozzle, it fires five additional orbs at no extra charge, meaning it's non- existant accuracy is compensated for by its monsterous damage potential. Just keep in mind that Norfleet chews through your limited rocket ammo, so using it prudently is recommended.
The Gear-
First is our shield. Choosing the best one was more difficult than I expected, considering it has to be viable on Ramone as well. After much testing, I found that the funnest, if not the best choice is Black hole. It throws enemies off balance, rockets them towards you, then zaps away a healthy chunk of their shield. This works wonders with Ramone, who makes effective use of his melee frenzies, and forces enemies to come to him, instead of using points in Annoyed Android so that he can go to them. An additional bonus is when your shield and his go down at nearly the same time, it throws enemies to and fro, giving you additional time to hammer in some extra damage, or heal up.

Next is the Class Mod. The Addict was built to use a Slayer of Terramorphous mod, due to it's survivability bonuses and stack ceiling increase. It also gives a handy bonus to Pimpernels with a Fire element attributed to them.

The relic I chose is Blood of the Ancients, with focus on pistol and sniper ammo. The Addict has a way of burning through ammo pretty quick, so the ammo bonus gives her greater longevity. Additionally, the provided hit point boost has saved my stacks, not to mention my life, more times than I can count.

Finally, the grenade mod I use is Chain Lightning. This mod has practically become the stuff of legends, due to its ability to provide intense healing to users wielding the Grog Nozzle, while crushing the shields of most enemies within a short- to mid- range. Combine that with prudent use and it's regenerating ammo, and you have a mod that will keep you alive in all but the most intense situations.
The Item Template-
Several of these weapons are hard to come by, due to rarity, as well finding their most effective variants. because of this, substitutes may be required. These are my recommendations.

Weapon Slot 1-
I recommend farming the, "A Real Boy" missions until you get a Dynamic or Redundant Fibber, with the proper barrel, or else the high stacks from our little Addict will be nearly impossible to manage. Until then, stick with high damage, high fire rate Hyperion SMGs or Vladof pistol. Also try to keep low ammo capacity guns in mind. Lower ammo capacity means more reloads. More reloads means more Anarchy. More Anarchy means more damage.

Weapon Slot 2-
If you don't have Tiny Tina's DLC, then you can't access the Grog Nozzle. In place of this, I recommend substituting with Rubi. If you don't have that yet, just pump money into her tip jar until she gives you a Good Touch or Bad Touch. They're viable SMGs in their own rights, but their healing abilities are uniqe, life- saving, and relativly easy to aquire at any level.

Weapon Slot 3-
Other than Pimpernel and Storm, not many other sniper rifles maintain usability at higher stack levels, so utalizing Moxx's Hail or another assault rifle can fill this slot. At lower stack levels (300 or less) shotguns retain most of their effectivness, and can be used admirably.

Weapon Slot 4-
If you don't have a Norfleet, you can substitute with E- tech launchers, or just the highest damage launcher you find. Get comfortable using it, because you'll have to be as efficient as possible, due to your low ammo supply, and it most likely being your go- to when getting out of Fight For Your LIfe (FFYL). Consider Tediore launchers, since they tend to use scarce rocket ammo more efficently, or Torgue launchers for their increased damage.

Shield Slot-
Nova shields, other than Black Hole, tend to be less effective on our little Addict, so I'd recommend an Absorb shield to help offset your high fire rate. In addition to supporting your ammo capacity, they'll protect you better than Amp shields, and have more utility than Turtle or Maylay shields. In lue of an Absorb shield, also consider Adaptive shields, since their life boost and reduced shield capacity balance well with the use of Blood Soaked Shield.

Relic Slot-
Several relics are justifiable, an you'll find several useful as you grow, so just use what you deem appropriate as you level. Vitality or Stockpile relics will probably be your best bets.

Grenade Slot-
Before you have a Moxxi weapon, use whatever transfusion grenades you can find. Once you have a Moxxi weapon, use short fused, high damage grenade mod, preferably with Longbow or Sticky Longbow delivery systems. They'll vary as you level up, so just keep these traits in mind. Grenades will generally be used for maintaining high damage output, while making sure we always have a triage option. Remember to conserve your grenades, since they have a relativly limited number, and you'll miss them when they're gone.

Class Mod Slot-
If you havn't had the chance to farm Terramorphous yet, consider using Prodigy, Anarchy or Punk class mods to increase your effectivness, while making use of most of their Perk bonuses as you accrue levels.
Level 72 Changes-
The new legendaries did some interesting things for our little Addict. No Non- SoT bonuses for Preshrunk Cyberpunk yet, but we did get a Legendary Anarchist. This works great when you don't feel like playing to 600 stacks, or are like me and just don't have the time anymore.
Using Ararchist, we can go back to using shotguns more, so I keep my Butcher handy for when Pimpernel or fibber are struggling.

Even though Legendary Anarchist buffs Mylen and Strength of 5 Gorillas, I still give 0 derogatory terms for intercourse about LBT. My new 11 points are allocated as follows-

+5 Cooking Up Trouble
+2 Fancy Mathematics
+4 Made of Sterner Stuff

Her damage output was fine as is, so boosting survivability was my next choice. Cooking Up Trouble pairs great with Blood Soaked Shields, and sometimes saving us the hassle of switching weapons for a Moxxi recovery. Fancy Mathmatics is always handy for prolonged combat, especially paired with SoT, causing you to almost instantly begin regenerating your shield. Made of Sterner Stuff isn't the best effect on the board, but a SoT bonus give you 9% damage reduction, which helps a lot when you're using Cooking Up Trouble to offset DoT.

Item changes-
Antagonist replaced Black Hole for the survivabilty boost and free Slag
Butcher and Pimpernel are now practially interchangable, and mostly depend on range and stack levels.
Legendary Anarchist often replaces SoT up to 400.

In case you're curious, yes our little Addict has beaten the digistruct peak OP 8. It went solo up to 6, then needed a support Siren to finish the last two.
Questions and Answers-
You mentioned earlier that we can farm stacks. Whats a good way to do that?
Get a weapon with low ammo capacity. The easiest one I know of is the very first shotgun you get (Remember? Right after you kill Knuckledragger?), called Coach Gun. It reloads with every shot, meaning stacks build very quickly. Take this to Sanctuary, go to Marcus' shooting range, and just open fire on the test dummy. It'll feel slow, but it's faster than doing so in the field, especially since the Coach Guns damage is comperable to that done by a light, refreshing breeze. I recommend not farming beyond 100 or 200 stacks. It's boring and thats all you need to have a decent head start on earning the rest.

Why don't you use Legendary Mecromancer mod? (From Rockman)
I stick with SoT due to it's exclusive boost to Preshrunk Cyberpunk, then work with the rest of it's benefits. Legendary Mecro is a great mod that can be used very effectivly, but the same can be said for the most of the others, under the right circumstances.

A more effective slag option would be amazing for this build. Where is dat Slagga?
Absent, for two reasons. The first is that there are only four weapon slots, and every weapon here has a specific purpose. Also, at 600 stacks, Bandit inaccuracy makes Slagga unmanagable.

What head is that?
It's the Wayfarer Wizard, from Tiny Tina's dlc and the skin is Chaos Reigns from the Mecromancer Supremacy dlc pack.

WTF kind of build is this? Are you mad?
Win, lose, or draw, it's hands- down the funnest mecro build I've used, so I thought i'd enlighten you as well. Also yes. I'm mad... WITH POWAAAAAA!

I'd really like to try this build, but I don't have time to farm all that gear. Would you mind duping for me?
Not anymore, due to annoyingly high demand. Sorry.

Why do you combine Blood Soaked Shields and Fancy Mathematics? Don't they cancel each other out?
Yes and no. Blood Soaked Shields lets you tear through hoards, but It's practically useless against bosses, because they don't die so quickly, and there's only so much trash around to work with. This is really where Fancy Mathematics comes into play, to keep you rolling when you can't get a quick kill. When used properly, they have great synergy, so you don't have to constantly respec for either situation.

Do you have any other guides?
Yes I do, ta very much for asking. A link to them is in the notes. Be sure to leave in the comments which class you'd like me to write about next.

Hey there, doubt you'll see this, I'm impressed with this build. Only problem so far is... no skill tree picture, i find its easier to follow along when there is an image to follow, or even a level progression list, like some of your other guides. Hope you see this.

I'm just not a huge fan of LBT, so I avoid it generally, but that's a pretty easy point to switch around if it works for you.

Would pulling a point from Unstoppable Force to Myilin be an option? Then you could just have Legendary Anarchist do the rest of the work.

I don't care if you add it to the guide or not. I posted it here originally so it would be added just to showcase the build
