Introduction
These tools are meant for testing & debugging the game, they are not intended for end-users so if your save file becomes corrupted or your game crashes, please don't bother the developer with the issues.

This guide is not complete, it just covers the basic operation of the debug UI. I may add more later but considering that the game is in early access and the debug UI may be removed from the final version I don't think it's worth the effort.
Launch Options
To enable debug mode, a launch option needs to be added
  • In Steam, right-click the game and select Properties
  • Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..."
  • enter "_debug_on" into the text box
Using the Debug Console
Now that you have debug enabled you can use the following shortcuts by pressing numbers on the numpad

0: Reset (resets any of the debug options you have chosen)
1: Invincibility
2: Full Heal (gives you full health & stamina)
3: Super Speed (makes you attack/ run/ jump/ dodge really fast)
4: Damage (damages your health slightly)
5: Down (insta kills you)
6: Quick Save
7: Unlimited Jump (gives you unlimited double jumps)
8: Attack Up (gives you a huge attack power boost)
9: Warp (instantly returns you home)

And then with ctrl + numpad number

1: Res Enemies (respawns all enemies)
2: Kill Enemies (kills all enemies)
4: Money (gives you some more money)
5: Customise (opens the weapon customise screen from anywhere)
7: Level Up (gives you a lot of experience)
8: Restore Weapons (gives you full ammo and full durability)
9: Teleport (will teleport you to where your mouse cursor is)

The most useful option is ctrl + 9 for helping out when something goes wrong.. I fell through the floor in a couple of areas and I would have needed to reload to continue playing.
If you are having trouble figuring out where your cursor is you can enable an option to always show the cursor in the options menu.

Yeah, I definitely don't have the knowledge of this stuff to edit save files. It was a fun ride, I'll probably start over after the sting has worn off a little.

It's also possible to unlock levels and weapons etc by editing the save file but it's not really easy to do.. I have thought about releasing a save file editor but I doubt anyone would use it

Unfortunate, when you start the game click 'load' and check if there are any saves there.
Otherwise just using the 'Attack Up' and 'Level Up' commands should let you clear the game really fast

Is there any way to retrieve lost data? My computer froze and when I hit continue the next time I was playing, the game started over. And it sounds like once it starts over you cannot retrieve your data. It's really frustrating because I was really close to getting 100%.

Can confirm debug mode still works as of 28 July 2019. Thanks so much for this guide, I was ready to give up in the 2nd area. Game is way too difficult even on Easy.

Do you have no sound at all, or just in the game?
Try this guide from Valve https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2918-QGHC-3562&l=japanese

You'll have to be more specific
To use the numpad you have to actually have one, so if you are on a laptop or use a tenkeyless keyboard you might be out of luck
Second numlock has to be on, which it usually is
If you are pressing buttons on the numpad and nothing is happening that'll be a different issue

As an alternative to the numpad you can press F8 and click the buttons at the bottom of the screen, however I don't recommend it as something like clicking the teleport button will put you under the map

How do I use the numpad?
