This mod seeks to make more of Brigador's hidden roster of vehicles playable, while also ensuring them to be balanced with regard to pre-implemented vehicles and be representative of the machine in terms of Brigador's in-universe lore.

Installation Process
Installing mods requires the Brigador Modkit, which may be downloaded from Steam Itself.

Make sure to create a back-up of your "assets.pack" file in the Brigador install folder beforehand.

  1. Install the Brigador Modkit by adding it to your account from the button above, then making sure that the option for it in the DLC section for Brigador in your Steam Library is checked.
  2. Go to your Brigador install folder, and the to the "Brigador/modkit" subfolder, then copy the three files "dumppack.bat", "genpack.bat" and "assets.zip" therein to the root install folder.
  3. Unpack the "assets.zip" file in your Brigador intall folder, and allow any overwrites to occur.
  4. Run the "dumppack.bat" file that came with the Brigador Modkit. Wait for the dump to be fully created.
  5. Next Unpack "Kayneth's Brigador Roster.zip" in the Brigador Install folder. Make sure that there are overwrites for the relevant files contained therein.
  6. Run the "genpack.bat" file now that came with the Brigador Modkit. A new "assets.pack" file shall be created at the end of the process.
  7. Launch Brigador to confirm that the mod has been installed.

Loyalist Changes
Changed Light Mech - "Fork"
  • ABOUT :
  • Secondary mount changed from "Turret" to "Small"
  • All other Stats remain as before.

Changed Superheavy Tank - "Leviathan"
  • ABOUT :
  • Hitpoints : 1200; Hardshield: 1000+600/400s"
  • Survivability changed to be better balanced, with higher health than shields.
  • All other Stats remain as before.

New Playable Tank Destroyer - "Addax"
  • Hitpoints : 325; Hardshields : 175 + 150/100s
  • Primary Mount : Main; Secondary Mount : Turret
  • ABOUT : Low-profile tank destroyer with decent mobility. Primary armament has limited traverse due to fixed casemate.

New Playable Treadbike - "Doorman"
  • Hitpoints : 175; Hardshields : 125 + 150/100s
  • Primary Mount : Auxiliary; Secondary Mount : Turret
  • ABOUT : Mobile Watchtower with a tall profile. Decent mobility for its size. Primary armament has limited traverse due to being affixed to the side of the hull.

New Playable Gravtank - "Fritz"
  • Hitpoints : 450; Hardshields : 250 + 150/100s
  • Primary Mount : Main; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : Heavy gravtank with excellent protection and survivability, but mediocre armament and poor mobility. All armaments turret mounted, and may by targeted independently by using orientation lock.

New Playable Light Mech - "Marlowe"
  • Hitpoints : 225; Hardshields : 125 + 125/83s
  • Primary Mount : Auxiliary; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : Light mech comparable to Fork. Has better armament, but marginally worse protection and mobility as compared to the Fork.

New Playable Treadbike - "Viper"
  • Hitpoints : 200; Hardshields : 150 + 150/100s
  • Primary Mount : Auxiliary; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : Armoured treadbike with fully enclosed cockpit. Armament same as Troubadour. Mobility marginally worse than Pantryboy, but with superior protection to both.
Corvid Changes
New Heavy Mech - "Blackjack"
  • Hitpoints : 325; Hardshields : 125+250/167s
  • Primary Mount : Auxiliary; Secondary Mount : Auxiliary
  • Auto-firing Armament changed to two Buzzsaw MG's.

New Playable Treadbike - "Boatman"
  • Hitpoints : 150; Hardshields : 75 + 125/83s
  • Primary Mount : Auxiliary; Secondary Mount : Auxiliary
  • ABOUT : A variation on the Klezmer with additional side-rails that allow heavier armament to be mounted. Still uses the Sawbuck cockpit and as such its upper hull has limited traverse, similar to its powersuit cousin.

New Playable Treadbike- "Klezmer"
  • Hitpoints : 125; Hardshields : 75 + 125/83s
  • Primary Mount : Turret; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : Agile, but vulnerable Treadbike built from disabled Sawbuck cockpits. As the treadbike is controlled from within a cockpit similar to the Sawbuck, its upper hull has limited traverse, similar to its powersuit cousin.

New Playable Powersuit - "Sawbuck"
  • Hitpoints : 150; Hardshields : 100 + 100/67s
  • Primary Mount : Small; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : Mongoose sub-equivalent assembled on derelict powersuit legs. Inferior to the Mongoose in every aspect of performance except mobility.

New Playable Agrav - "Skate"
  • Hitpoints :30; Hardshields : 45 + 75/50s
  • Primary Mount : Turret; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : A fairly common sight in certain outer parts of Solo Nobre, the Skate is a hot-rodded agrav built from industrial scrap. Useful as a recon vehicle, but not suited for combat in any way; not that it is not often used as such.

New Playable Light Mech - "Tasker"
  • Hitpoints : 175; Hardshields : 125 + 125/83s
  • Primary Mount : Auxiliary; Secondary Mount : Small
  • ABOUT : A staple light mech of the Corvids, comparable to the Eight-ball. As the mech is controlled from within a cockpit similar to the Sawbuck, its upper hull has limited traverse, similar to its powersuit cousin.
Spacer Changes
New Playable Light Mech - "Cantor"
  • Hitpoints : 125; Hardshields : 225 + 100/67s
  • Primary : Auxiliary; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : Light mech commonly used by Spacers, but also sold mercenary groups and some terrestrial military forces. Good balance of mobility, firepower and protection.

Changed Mech - "Doric"
  • The Doric's stats have not changed, although the placement and traverse of its mounts is now different.
  • ABOUT : The Doric's secondary armament Turret mount is now mounted centre-line internally in the hull, right above its Primary Auxiliary Mount. This brings the player's Doric in line with its AI-controlled counterparts

Changed Gravbike - "Hoker"
  • Hitpoints : 75; Hardshields : 150 + 75/50s
  • Previously was Hitpoints : 100; Hardshields : 100 + 100/67s
  • ABOUT : The Hoker's stats were rearranged so that it has higher shielding but a weaker hull; as all other Spacer vehicles do.

New Playable Light Mech - "Hound"
  • Hitpoints : 100; Hardshields : 175 + 100/67s
  • Primary : Small; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : The lightest of the Spacer mechs, the Hound is also the most agile and responsive, with light but effective armament. Less survivable than most other Spacer mechs, but highly dangerous in the hands of a skilled pilot.

New Playable Light Mech - "Howler"
  • Hitpoints : 125; Hardshields : 175 + 100/67s
  • Primary : Heavy; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : Essentially a Heavy Mount on apparently undersized legs, the Howler is marginally slower and less shielded than the other Spacer light mechs. It's excellent armament more than makes up for its flaws.

New Playable Gravtank - "Leverman"
  • Hitpoints : 125; Hardshields : 200 + 150/75s
  • Primary : Main; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : A gravtank comparable in overall performance to the Arlo, but with the added versatility of turret-mounted armament. A bit more sluggish compared to the Arlo, but better armed and protected.

Changed Treadbike - "Paver"
  • Hitpoints : 7580; Hardshields : 125 + 75/50s
  • Previously was Hitpoints : 100; Hardshields : 100 + 50/67s
  • ABOUT : The Paver's stats were rearranged so that it has high shielding, but a weaker hull; as all other Spacer vehicles do.

New Playable Mech - "Romancer Mk.II"
  • Hitpoints : 150; Hardshields : 225 + 100/67s
  • Primary : Auxiliary; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : The lightest and quickest among the Spacer Heavies, the Romancer is armed similar to the light mech Cantor. A well-balanced unit with a powerful stomping attack.

New Playable Mech - "Sultan"
  • Hitpoints : 175; Hardshields : 225 + 100/67s
  • Primary : Main; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : Another well-rounded Spacer mech, the Sultan's mix of effective armament, good protection and mobility make it useful in most combat situations.

New Playable Mech - "Tunerall"
  • Hitpoints : 160; Hardshields : 225 + 100/67s
  • Primary : Heavy; Secondary : Small
  • ABOUT : Spacer heavy mech made from salvaged parts. Well-armed and well-protected., but somewhat slower than some of its counterparts.

Not Playable - "Prism" & "Oxybeles"
  • The player-controllable versions of these vehicles are not accessible in this mod because i've been unable to modify them such that they'd more closely resemble their enemy counterparts, which are essentially dedicated anti-structure siege platforms.
Enemy Changes
Changed Enemy Mech - "Swede"
  • ABOUT :
  • This affects only enemy Swedes, and not those piloted by the player.
  • Enemy Swedes are now much better armed; in-line with their reputation as heavy weapon platforms, they carry a Loyalist Bishop mounted centrline, a Stutter on top along with their signature stun beam in the bottom of the weapon housing. All of these are enemy equivalent weapons, weaker than the Brigador's
  • Brigadors should be cautious of the potential one-two killing blow these weapons can land.

Changed Enemy Mech - "Usul"
  • ABOUT :
  • This affects only enemy Usuls, and the mech is not yet available to the player.
  • Enemy Usuls now carry an additional Disco short-ranged laser to better complement their Primary Burst Laser armament. All of these are enemy equivalent weapons, weaker than the Brigador's
  • The Usul is now more effective at short-range combat, especially against shields.
Patch Changes
26th of June, 2021 : Two Years After Initial Mod Release
  1. Mod Updated for Brigador's Fifth Blood Anniversary Update
  2. Re-balance WIP for newly implemented vehicles in update and for this guide itself.
  3. Tasker now has an additional auto-firing MG
  4. Minor changes to mobility and survivability of various vehicles

  3. Klezmer and Boatman are now slightly slower, but easier to handle

  1. Fixed crash-causing bug related to enemy Blackjacks.
  2. Reduced Addax hull-rotation rate.

Does anyone have an idea on how to make this work in 2024? I'm following the directions and I can't quite seem to get it working.

Alright, to make it work as of 2023

First
Delete those two luc_ (lucidite) files mentioned by @Professor_Emeryeetus found in assets/data/lowers and assets/data/units

Then go to assets/data and open global.json

Search for the line

"splash_image": "assets/ui/menu/brigadorsplash_fullrez_alt.png",


And replace it with


"splash_image": "assets/ui/menu/brigadorsplash_fullrez.png",


Run genpack.bat

And it's done

I have installed it but there was an issu I had to fix which is not mentioned in this guide:

In assets/data/lowers and assets/data/units respectively, there is some lucidite ("luc_") vehicle that is missing a file for it's model and will crash the game uness you remove it's files in these two directories.

If you run genpack.bat, it will tell you about these.

The Grave2Rave update semms to have broken this mod. It will crash on startup, because the splash screen changed. Fortunately, it's an easy fix.

In \Brigador\assets\data, open global.json with your text editor of choice and find the line

"splash_image": "assets/ui/menu/brigadorsplash_fullrez_alt.png",

and replace it with

"splash_image": "assets/ui/menu/brigadorsplash_fullrez_alt_grave2rave.png",

Save global.json, run genpack.bat one more time, and now you should be able to play with the mod again!

The mod was updated to work with the present version of the game as of posting. Though fully playable, it remains WIP for unit balance.

Thank you for the quality work and balancing you did, this should really be an official update pack. All the other modders just toss in the enemy vehicles as playables without balancing, or make stuff that is just not compatible with the style and lore of the game, unlike them you put real effortand time into it. I'm looking forward for the addition of the rest of the vehicles, that aren't weaponless drones and OP megamonstrosities :b

This is amazing.

I've never been a huge 'Mecha' girl, but I am a huge 'Powersuit' girl.
I was heartbroken when I saw that there just weren't any playable Corvid ones, Fence aside.

This mod gives you the Sawbuck, which is probably my favorite suit in the game, and helps me realize my dreams of being a clattering bullethose made of rebar and sheetmetal.

Any chance of us ever getting pilotable Coffin? :rockettemean:
