Introduction
Elo!

I'm working on Death Rally achievements every now and then and to be honest at first I just wanted to make a video with killing the Adversary to try my lowbie video editing and guide writing skills. But as it often happens, I haven't thought about checking the guide section at first place where I saw two more videos. So I decided to add several more tips not to be fully copying other guys (plus awesome music in the video ofc).
Achievements
Most of the achievements are completed naturally as you progress throughout the game, so you won't have much problems with them. I will note only several of them which might require to do something out of the box:

  • Group of achievements that require you to kill a particular boss. This could be a little tricky, because as you are playing the campaign, beating bosses is quite difficult when you don't have weapons and car powerful enough. When I have golden out everything, i started hunting the bosses, but only after some time played I noticed that they are tied with the difficulty (I was playing extreme only as I need more fame to those notorious God of all Gods and 42). So I had to play several races on the easier difficulty to encounter bosses I missed. It's also interesting to note that I tried to find them in online races, but it looks like they do not appear in pseudo online races until you beat them in the single player mode. I was hunting for Geoff K. and haven't met him in online mode for 10 or 15 races, then I switched to single player hard difficulty, beaten him and found him twice in a row in online mode afterwards.

  • Mr. Nurmi Award. It requires you to complete a Marathon challenge in the single player mode. One of the racers confirmed that you don't need to finish at the 1st place, just finishing is enough to unlock this achievement. Though this type of challenge is considered to be rare, an easy way to find a Marathon challenge is to switch categories between Races and Story as it reshuffles the available races every time. Also take note that you are restricted to using any weapons, and I haven't managed to crack a single crate (in hope for nitro) for all of the 42 laps required to race. So it's recommended to have a fast car (I was using Interceptor) and around 15 minutes of spare time.

  • Shortest Fuse. You need to be destroyed in the first lap of the race. The hard option imo is to stay in the line of fire of a group of cars hoping that they will finish you quickly. The easy option is to refuse to sabotage your competitors' cars when shadow man offers it for the price of halving your rewards. If you refuse, there is a chance that he will sabotage your own car and it will blow up just as the race starts (it happened really often before I beat Adversary and close to never after I beat him, but I dunno if it makes any difference).

  • Unstoppable and Gasoline in Your Vein. Multiplayer achievements do not require you to buy a copy for a friend or search the desolated forums for someone to help you out. All you need to do is switch to multiplayer, start any race and immediately press a Skip button (or just hit Enter). Thus you will race with bots, and it will counter towards the multiplayer achievements.

  • Armed to the Teeth. Now this one is a bit messy, because upgrading all your weapons and cars (that most of us will consider "your gear") won't award you this achievement. After doing some quick search I found a thread that suggests that this achievement is somehow related to completing challenges (besides upgrading all "your gear" or not even including those, I cant tell exactly unfortunately). So, having golden out every car and every weapon, I started doing all challenges like weapon ones, car ones, dollars, mines and Deathmatch (because someone on that thread stated that he got it after a DM with Tex) writing them down not to repeat. The achievement got suddenly awarded after I completed the Gatling challenge, thus I still can only guess what are full requirements for this achievement. I'm not yet used to screenshot and capture video of all I do in game in order to make guides look nice, so I haven't recorded an achievement pop, sry. Hope this pic will do.

  • Uncrowned Adversary and King of Death Rally. Now my favorite video time =] To be honest I consider this achievement (since they come in pair) to be absolutely luck based, cause you require very little skill and very much luck in form of power-ups, namely ammo and nitro. I made around 10 tries before God of Randomness gifted me with a shootload of ammo, so I can destroy this hardened piece of metal with a total of 17 level 9 missiles. I saw the other guide suggests beating the Adversary with a 3xNitro chain. But hell, it is a DEATH rally! Beating a boss by being faster is a fail, hehe.

  • God of all Gods, Force of Creation and The 42. Now we are talking about serious BDSM issues that the achievement creators had at the moment they put those into the game. I've tried to web the exact numbers you need to reach the corresponding Fame Ranks, but numbers given from different users didn't have any proof (I saw numbers like 10.000.000 and 42.000.000 Fame), so I guess I'll have to find it out myself. And here I made an estimation, so it looks like the next Fame Level, namely God of All Gods, is going to be at 10mil mark for real. As far as grinding process is concerned, I can suggest farming the Pit in the single player mode (online with bots tend to net really less exp) and accept the Shadow challenge to double the reward for killing the boss + killing everyone else in the race and getting max cash out of the crates. Farming Dollar challenges could also prove useful, since if your car is upgraded to the max the remaining cash goes straight to your fame, but an overall time to acquire a fame level will be much greater since you have to spend some time shuffling the races to get a Dollar challenge.

Conclusion
I completely understand that this guide is very likely to be seen only by me, since noone plays this game anymore. But I spent great time making it!

So with the "Armed to the Teeth" achievement, I earned it with all my cars and weapons maxed, however, my challenges list is incomplete (incomplete challenges being: all nitro, gatlings, test runs. sabotage, prototype guns, and rocket fuel). The challenge I earned the achievement after completing was "strikers".

great guide my friend, thank you!
about "Armed to the Teeth" - i just got it after doing a challenge (dervishes) and the strange thing is i have everything maxed out except the flame thrower which i'm still leveling up. so maybe the achievement is tied more to challenges than gear

@Yopt All fine, there are a lot of games with senseless achievements - but like you I do some progress and then I say bye again for a while...
In this one I´ll try to do 100%, but will I succeed before dying (I´m nearly 54) ? Anyway, good luck and keep hunting, bro ! :unite: :WoWO_O:

You are welcome! Frankly, I'm looking at this game from time to time, thinking about putting it together and 100% it. But then I read my guide and see how much grind there will be, and I back off again :happymeat:

Oh and here is a little detail that I noticed for fame: If you haven't played the game for a long time, you might slowly lose your fame, if too long, your fame will deplete to 0.

So better keep an eye for your fame if you haven't played it for a while!

Needs confirmation but as I said I believe some fame levels are:

Captain 100K
Flatout Challenger 200K
Kingslayer 300K
Force of Nature 400K
Champion 500K
King 600K (CONFIRMED!)
Legend 700K

Thanks for the "fame values" exactly what I was looking for. I will do 1M fame tops the last 3 fame achievements are quite retarded. I'm currently @ Champion with 587.000 fame so from 100k to 1M it's probably one level for each 100k points

Great that the guide is still useful despite the game age  although you probably should wait with "a long time for getting this" for the Fame achievements. Those are extremely tedious and need a lot of rinse and repeat. I started grinding those a lot of times, but couldn't keep going for long.
