Ok so, the loading video is instead used like a sprite sheet? But instead skips through the video when the game is closer to finish loading?
That's really clever, a little odd, but clever.
Many game developers use videos for their loading screens. This sounds worse than it is, because the developers do not simply play back the video, but use it as an image library and display the required frame to show the current loading progress from the video. This is the reason why the loading screen in the original video runs very smoothly, but in the game it jumps and the loading screen is much shorter than the video.
This technique has some benefits and some drawbacks but for more infos you have to ask the game dev. I dont know the benefits in an unreal engine game.
And as a little note to future readers:
It is possible, as @NightBlader has described, to rename the loading video as well. It didn't save me any time (loaded from an SSD) but it may help you. It is definitely worth a try.
TF, the loading screen is a video? That's is the most stupidest thing for any developer in add into a game...
So I guess if I place other videos here and name them like the orignal cutscenes it will play instead of them!
I know that won't speed the game but well it would be cool I gotta try it
