For those still confused, the "Explorer" achievement is found in Chapter 3, after the chase/"Unscathed" achievement.

The achievement of finding the puzzle crate comes in the first interaction you make with the robot to attack a post with several soldiers.
It's important to say the context because I couldn't deduce where it was, great guide and thank you, I just completed it.

I too can confirm that "we already have a home" is not needed. as long as you are comforting to jay I think that he will survive. treat him like an asset and yep you are going to have to pop him.

I also did not get the achievement for the aurora base even though I read all transpondance. the crate I totally missed.

I confirm, saying "we already have a home is not a requirement."
I picked the other choice and still got the achievement.

Hi. Thought I'd mention that in a conversation with Jay, it's not necessary to say 'We already have a home'. I agreed with him about staying on the planet in my playthrough and he survived at the end. I think his chances of survival might depend on a combination of all the dialogue we have with him, and perhaps a certain number of "points" are needed for him to survive. Maybe the devs can clarify on this.
