Installation
1. Download one of the following files depending on your used language and desired icon set:
English: DualShock 4[www.dropbox.com] or Xbox 360[www.dropbox.com]
Japanese: DualShock 4[www.dropbox.com] or Xbox 360[www.dropbox.com]
Traditional Chinese: DualShock 4[www.dropbox.com] or Xbox 360[www.dropbox.com]

2. Navigate to the games directory. (You can easily find the directory by right clicking the game in your steam library and selecting: Properties->Local Files->Browse Local Files...)

3. Unpack the contents of the file you downloaded inside the games directory.

4. Start Patch.bat, you might need to start it as administrator, and choose if you want to create a backup. (Note: creating a backup might take several minutes)

5. Done.

Hey it's a Gabe, just add the patch.bat to steam as a non steam game, then go to properties and use a proton compatability, then run it through steam and it will work just fine. No need to go through protontricks or anything like that's, it's more simple just adding it as a non steam game to steam and using a proton compatability.

Hey TeamLinux01, could you explain that process more clearly? I'm not tech savvy enough to understand the process you used. I'm looking up "how to use protontricks in cmd linux" and I'm even more confused than before.

tell me, does this really work?, it feels like it's impossible for the controller buttons to show up on the PC

There isn't: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/7f97586ff7091222c1dae09a58fb7cf2c79dfe6029b303a5ca04173c87fee541
W32.AIDetectMalware is just some generic false positive: https://www.reddit.com/r/antivirus/comments/16uuun2/questions_about_w32aidetectmalware64/
But the source code is included, so you can compile the exe yourself.

For the English Xbox 360 controls, I put the files into a virus checker. There's a malware on that one that tracks banking login information.

Can someone make a video on how to do this on steamdeck?

Used ProtronTricks on Steam Deck (Windows CMD using Z:/home/deck/Downloads) copied the two files into the extracted folders path and ran the patch.bat from the Wine CMD. Then copied the patched files back in the game's steam folder. Used the Xbox 360 icons and looks great.
