Tools
All of your tools are hanging out in your yard when you get started.
Your hoe is beside the house to the left, your gathering basket and milk bucket are to the right. You also have a gun leaning against the wall of your little dairy hut, a stick for doodling in the dirt and there's a bucket for water by the well.
-Your hoe is used for tilling up the ground for seeds. you only start off with 2 seeds but you may receive more of them in the mail or trade for them with the wandering trader. after tilling, plant your seeds and don't forget to water them.
-You can collect a lot of things with your basket ; eggs, mushrooms, veggies from your garden. Just remember to bring it inside with you before you go to bed or you can loose all of your harvestables.
-When milking your goats you can actually milk multiple goats before your bucket is actually full (even though the bucket looks full) which saves so much more time rather than walking back and forth.
-Your gun requires bullets. you can buy them from the trader and you may have them sent in the mail but don't count on it cause you never know when you need to protect your goats from a wolf. It's a click and shoot system but you are playing as a little old lady so your aim isn't what it used to be.
-Your stick doesn't have much use other than doodling in the dirt but it is a fun mechanic.
-Your water bucket is just beside the well beyond your fence and to the left. It empties kinda fast but you can get a few plants watered before having to go back for another trip.

You can also trade for more things as time goes by; lanterns, chimes, decor and things.
Food and Produce
You can collect eggs from your chickens and milk from your goats.
With the goat milk you can make cheese which is worth the most of your first harvestables for trading. Empty the milk into the pot, stir it and cook it over the fire. Once it's done cooking you need to press it into cheese moulds. You have some time while its cooking to go do other things so if you start it in the morning its nice to come back later in the day to press it.
Gardening can also get some veggies growing or flowers to make your place prettier. You can cook or trade harvested veggies but flowers mostly just hang out looking pretty but aren't edible.
Don't forget to water them or they won't grow. It does rain very occasionally and you don't have to water the garden on those days.

Every action you do takes up energy. As the sun sets you can usually hear your character yawn, but she also does that when shes running low on energy. If she runs out she will make a frustrated noise and say she needs some food.
Go into your house and cook up something in your kitchen. The more you put into the pot the more energy she will have. Recipes aren't a thing so don't worry if its a weird combo like tomato, onion and cheese. Some food has more energy than others ; cheese has a ton where a single egg doesn't have much.
Other Stuff
You can find things laying on the ground around your farm sometimes ; mushrooms, figures, harvestables and so on. it takes time to walk around so make sure you don't go too far if you still have things to do.

CLOSE YOUR GATES
your goats can and will escape! there are wolves out there that would love a little goat dinner. If one gets past the first gate just make sure it doesn't get past the second gate or you may loose it. I was lucky enough to have a goat return home on the very first day (because I thought it would like a wander) but found out pretty quickly that they don't always return!
Chickens on the other hand, they just wander around. No fence can hold them and the wolves seem more interested in your goats.
Be careful with your gun cause you can accidentally shoot a chicken or a goat. You don't even get meat out of it so its a bad time.

Letters in your letter box can't be picked up from inside the fence, you need to go outside to get it.

Time can keep passing when reading letters and books so do it at night before bed when you're done for the day. its also where most of the story is. your family can only contact you through mail.

You can tell a wolf is nearby when you hear growling and ominous music. They scare pretty easy with a gunshot but it's pretty scary when they do show up. their eyes glow and they're all black in the dark of the night.

Close the chicken coop door every night and open it every morning. Protects them at night.

Also pet your goats before you milk them. You get enough milk for three cheeses instead of two if you do.

Thanks for the info that's probably why all of my goats went missing. But after that each day one more chicken was gone till there was none left. Couldn't have been wolves because even when I stayed up all night there were no wolves and the chickens still went missing (I even bought 3 more and they all went missing as well). Anyone else have this issue?
