How to use Steam joinlobby link for Casual Matchmaking
By Eddy Bam
Tutorial used for sending invite links to a room you hosted. Useful for when room searching isn't showing rooms under specific parameters and/or players who do not want to add others to their steam friends list but just want to play in a just as quick way as friend invite.

Setting Up A Room
If you haven't done so already, select 'ONLINE VS' into 'CASUAL MATCH' which will then open the casual matchmaking menu. (not much else left to do other than to create a room so go ahead and do that)

Please Note: when creating a room, the specificiations you want for what region or connection setting wont matter when trying out this method. the only things that matter are the win count limit and character select options.

Once finished, you should have a room ready for others to connect to.

(above is how a casual room would be displayed)
Obtaining Steam joinLobby Link
While your room is in standby, open up Steam Overlay using hot key combination (default is Shift+Tab)

Once here, open up your 'FRIENDS & CHAT' menu and select yourself to open your steam profile
(there are other ways to navigate to your own steam profile, but this is the quickest method)

A window will open atop of your steam overlay to your steam profile and display the game you are currently playing.

moving over to the green 'Join Game' option. Right Click it and select 'Copy Link Address'. from there the steam join lobby link should be copied onto your clip board
(example: steam://joinlobby/871200/109775241003709890/76561198017227219 )

Note: depending on your profile privacy settings, it could interfere using this method)
Joining Game via joinLobby Link
This is for the person trying to connect to the lobby, this part is generally easy since at most these links are displayed as hyperlinks that will open up to the respected application for it.

However if for whatever reason it can't be used as a clickable hyperlink. just try opening up an empty web browser page and paste the steam join lobby link into the URL. it will ask to open in another application (Steam of course) and agree to that.

and that should be it. please leave any other questions in the comments below. have fun :]

Stuck on the very first step. Where the heck is "ONLINE VS" located in Steam? Do you mean Steam VR? I don't have any VR gear and this seems to be a different client/download. Do I need or maybe "ONLINE VS" is now something different in a newer updated version of Steam? Anyone know?
