Walk towards the big ‘welcome’ sign and you will be greeted by a droid named 2CU. Obtain a temporary U-Chip at the Immigration Terminal by interacting with the Hand Device.

Talk to Wendell at the front-end of the truck: exhaust all conversation options.

Head to the Roundabout at the playground and loosen the Chain with your Crowbar. Push the Roundabout twice until Pixel gets dizzy, then have a chat with him: on all conversation options.

Head to the garden along the Immigration Terminal area and look for a bench/big tire @ Voxel's Hideout. Talk to Voxel: start with 'Missing Kid' then exhaust all conversation options. Head to the Murder of Gang-Gangs behind the truck and use the Firecrackers. Open the Truck Doors by doing the 'door ritual': Hit Bumper + Pull Door (doing a jig is optional).

Look for Big Steve (a purple Gang-Gang located near the bridge) and lure him with a Mini-K that you obtained from the truck. As Big Steve follows you, walk to the holographic Waterfall by the workshop. Throw the Mini-K at the Electric Fence. Pick up Ember's Deet and talk to Ember: exhaust all conversation options. Talk to her again and interact with the Workbench to obtain your new citizen’s ID.

Proceed to the Immigration Terminal area and use the Panel to enter the office. Pick up the Scanning Device and Sandwich. Examine the Poster above the office door.


Head back to Voxel's Hideout and give the Sandwich to Voxel.

Repair the Broken Bollard by the bridge and exhaust all conversation options with Hobbsworth. Interact with the Bridge Controls and discover that your U-Chip is outdated.

Inquire Ember about hacking the bridge controls and trade the Android Finger to tweak the Scanning Device into a hacking device. Follow the on-screen hack tutorial. You automatically follow her to the Spankles Vending Machine. Swap <Play Refusal> with <Dispense Drink> then <Apply> the hack.

Congrats, you are now a hacker

Hack the Bridge Controls: 👾 swap <Play Refusal> with <Activate Bridge> and apply. Scan your U-Chip and get across the bridge (you don't have to hack again on your way back).

Head towards the left area of the main gates. Engage the scanner and stand between the Cooling System and the Recycling Outlet. Activate the hacking device: 👾 set the conveyor belt speed to run <Rapidly> and apply the hack. Wait for the 4YR droid to inspect the pressure pad. Take the Battery from the back of the droid.

Return to Wendell's truck and insert the Battery into the Hood. Talk to Wendell about hitching a ride and after a short cutscene, you will be dropped-off at the cargo area. Take a monopod to the Piazza.

After the cutscene, look for a Greta Terminal under the 'Safety Services' signboard in front of you. Agree to get your U-Chip firmware updated and learn more about Graham. Now, take the monopod to Graham's home.

You will meet a girl as you enter the apartment lobby. End the conversation by choosing any color you'd like. Now head upstairs and meet Chipworth (a servant droid) standing outside Graham's home. After the cutscene, explore the apartment and gather intel about Graham:

The apartment is filled with IOT devices. Examine the Toy Collection on the bench, and examine the Empty Spot. Notice that Bartleby Bilby 🧸 is missing. Examine the Momma Bear on the shelf and attempt to turn it on. Look for Songbird and exhaust all conversation options with her, particularly about Bartleby Bilby, the toy tracker and Leet. Enter Songbird's bedroom and activate Momma Bear. Command Momma Bear to locate Bartleby Bilby. Now stand at the room door, between the TV and Momma Bear, then activate your hacking device. 👾 Swap <Holoplinth App> with <Toy Finder Service>. Examine the Holo-Plinth and Bartleby’s location will appear as a coordinate labeled E1594. Scan the area again and reset all hacks.

Go talk to Chipworth and order him to perform 'butler duties' by opening the windows. As soon as he leaves, head to the bathroom. Close the Toilet seat to reveal a footprint, then climb the toilet seat and look out the window. Feed a Mini-K to the Gang-Gang and take the Box. You will receive a Photograph and a Damaged Holo-Lens.

Talk to Songbird: exhaust all conversation options.

Go downstairs to the laundromat and stand in front of the Washing Machine. Wait for the Cleaning Droid to refill water, and activate the hacking device. (make sure the droid is within range of your hacking device)
1. 👾 Swap commands for the Washing Machine to have <100%>/<100%> water for both slots
2. 👾 Command the Cleaning Droid to clean the apartment <exterior>

Finally head upstairs and talk to Chipworth: exhaust all conversation options and ask him to do the laundry! (you might have to ask him twice). Follow him to the laundrymat and watch what happens 🤡

Now head outside to the garden area (make sure the Cleaning Robot is hacked to clean the exterior if you haven't done so).

Once the cutscene is over, go to the garden area close to the monopod and open a Panel that controls the water sprinklers. At this same location, wait for the Cleaning Robot to refill at the water-refill station. The moment the refill-station deploys, activate your hacking device.
👾 Set the water-refill unit to <0%>, Set both sprinkler flow rates to <100%> - Apply the hack. Finally, use the Control-Box and turn the sprinklers on, unlocking the following achievement:


Convince the girl (Raquel Dijon) to use the robot as her route down. Take a monopod back to the Piazza after exhausting all conversation options with Raquel Dijon, Tarquin and officer Orana Newblood.

Once at the Piazza, look for a huge statue of Joey. The entrance to the Museum is just beside it.

Welcome to the Museum of Joey.

The first section of the museum has an outer & inner ring (each having 5 exhibits), and Joey's Arm as the centerpiece. The Old History Exhibit requires an Aspiration Brooch for you to enter.

Head towards Joey's Arm and trigger a cutscene. A man (Mr. Featherbottom) and his daughter (Cecily) will enter the museum. You can either make a deal with Cecily for her Aspiration Brooch, or remain anonymous and try converting Mr. Featherbottom into an atheist. It's safe to say some people had more fun doing the latter.

Look for a Children's Exhibit around the outer-ring and wait for a Cleaning Robot to refill at the station beside the exhibit. Make sure to stand between Cleaning Robot and the Children's Exhibit before engaging your hacking device. 👾 Transfer the <Aggressively> command from the droid onto the Children's Exhibit, apply the hack and then allow a visitor to activate the hand-scanner (or activate it yourself) to unlock this next achievement.


Stand between the Asio City Exhibit (outer-ring) and wait for the Announcement Robot (within the inner-ring) to get close, then activate the hacking device:
👾 Transfer the <Enticingly> command from the Asio City Exhibit onto Announcement Robot
👾 Transfer the <Enticingly> command from the Announcement Robot onto Joey's Arm
This will make Cecily's dad move closer to Joey's arm.

Now stand between the Children's Exhibit and the Announcement Robot:

👾 Transfer the <Aggressively> command from the Announcement Robot to Joey's Arm.

This will trigger a cutscene. Congrats, pick-up your Aspiration Brooch, and prepare to enter the Old History Exhibit.

As a devoted enthusiast of Beneath A Steel Sky[en.wikipedia.org] and Broken Sword[en.wikipedia.org], I thoroughly enjoyed my leisurely exploration of this section. It is teeming with Easter eggs, ranging from the guard, posters, to the exhibits themselves. One standout highlight for me was the St. James Jukebox. Notably, the Information Robot even showcases screenshots from BASS1 and the background music scores had been incorporated from the same game.


Enter the Old History Exhibit section and engage in a conversation with the Exhibit Guard. Examine the Poster on the left-side of the SMUG[en.wikipedia.org] Old Fridge.


The exhibit at the end of the hall is Joey's Exhibit. Activate the Exhibit Information scanner to summon the Information Robot (N01T-AL). Once the droid is within proximity, engage the hacking device. 👾 Swap <Announce Exhibit Information> with <Play Attraction>, apply the hack. Activate the Exhibit Information again and enjoy the cutscene.

Now, it is time to save Joey. Activate the Joey's Exhibit once more, distracting the Exhibit Guard. Take this opportunity to use your Crowbar with the Padlock on the Old Fridge. This triggers an emergency evacuation and deploys a Vermin Robot out from the store room.

With everyone out of the way, break open Joey's Exhibit with your Crowbar, take the Circuit Board and head into the Store Room. Insert the Circuit Board into the Vacuum Robot. Have a chat and catch up with Joey. Explore the shelves if you'd like. (Plenty of easter-eggs here!!)

Head outside and use the Crowbar on the Panel behind the Holo Display exhibit. Get Joey to access the interface Port and locate E1594. Talk to Joey again and exhaust all conversation options.

⚠ Escape plan: Get Joey to reprogram the Barrel Transporter and navigate it to the Men's Room.

Head to the Store Room, wait for the Vermin Robot (F4R-T) to enter, and engage the hacking device. 👾 Swap <Vermin Warning> with the <Barrel Robot> command and apply the hack.

Go back to the Holo Display exhibit. Once the Vermin Robot (F4R-T) is within proximity, engage the hacking device once again. 👾 Swap the <Barrel Robot> command with <Union City Map>. The exhibit now shows a Robot Manual, get Joey to access the interface Port. Open the Barrel with your Crowbar and climb inside it.

After the cut-scene, explore the center exhibits (Joey Stations) with Joey. Scan all of them (1-5) and complete the History of Joey. Exit the museum whenever you're ready.

Outside the museum, below the big statue of Joey, is an aspiration brooch customization stall. Talk to the Stall d-RYD; exhaust all conversation options. Place your Aspiration Brooch in the Brooch Slot (you will have to repeat this procedure for all brooch types to unlock the next achievement; I personally like the Joey brooch).


Attempt to take a monopod to the Recycling Center, but you'll get nowhere without a travel waiver. Get to a Greta Terminal and inquire Greta regarding a travel waiver. Exhaust all conversation options with Greta and take a monopod to the Aspiration Platform with hopes to meet officer Orana Newblood. At the Aspiration Platform entrance, a droid will request you to follow ministry regulations and wear a uniform prior to entering.

Take the monopod to Graham’s Apartment. On your way you'll meet Reginald. Enter Graham's bedroom and wear your newly fitted Uniform. Have a chat with Songbird/Chipworth if you'd like.

Head back to the Aspiration Platform and talk to Tee (P4R-T). Examine the droppings/feathers/leaves around the Tree and command Joey clean them up one-by-one.


Enter the elevator room and look for a Control Box by the entrance, open it. Use the Hand Scanner to disable the Sprinkler Controls. Head outside and lure a Gang-Gang above a Spankles vending machine. Throw the Mini-K at the Tree. The Vermin Robot (F4R-T) will now attempt to get close to the Gang-Gang and hover above the disabled sprinklers. Turn the Sprinkler Controls back on and enjoy the show. Get Joey to clean up again and vacuum the Fallen Bunting.

After the cutscene, have a chat and convince Orana to authorize a travel waiver. Pick up Joey’s Circuit Board before heading to the Recycling Center via a monopod.

Enter the Recycling Center, and find Leet in his workshop at the lower-platform. He hands you an Empty Green Bottle after the conversation and asks for a small favor.

Head outside through a door at the end of the upper-platform. A Stun d-RYD will be guarding the area. We need to get this droid out of the way. Sorry Gandalf, don't steal from Monty Python.

Now head back to where Leet was and look for a control panel. Turn off the Conveyor Belt via the Crusher Control Panel. Go to the Crusher and stick your Crowbar in it. Turn the conveyor belt back on and this will trigger an alarm. Immediately hide in one of the Lockers nearby. Wait for the Stun d-RYD to switch off the conveyor and inspect the jammed crusher. Exit the Locker and turn the conveyor belt back on again. Pick up your Crowbar and have a chat with Gandalf if you'd like.

Head back to the area where the Stun d-RYD was previously guarding and make a right. At the end of the section is a door to the Furnace Room. Head downstairs and find a moonshine distiller. Use the Tap to refill the Empty Green Bottle. Return to Leet with his bottle of moonshine. After the conversation, place your hand on the Hand Clamp.

A cutscene begins and pauses midway; pick the 🐟Fish first. You'll obviously fail and the cutscene restarts, but this time use the 🍾Bottle. You'll find out that Foster wasn't actually talking to Leet, but a maniac named Jimmy The Thumbs

Pick up the Cleaver and the Unicorn before leaving.



Go back outside on the upper-platform; make a left this time. Examine the Poster behind the staircase.


Take the staircase and explore the next platform. Use the Crowbar to open a Light Switch Panel and turn off the lights. Examine a rusty Anchor Insurance Sign from below and attempt to turn the Gas Control Valve underneath it; but the valve wheel comes off.

Now, climb the Ladder and go to the Anchor Insurance Sign. Behind it, an anchor is tethered by a rope. Cut the Tether using the Cleaver and head back down. Adjacent to the leaking Gas Control Valve is a Broken Light; place the Plastic Explosive (Unicorn) into it. Turn the Light Switch Panel back on and have a blast. 🦄

Enter the Furnace Room once again. With the flames out of the way, take the Ladder behind the furnace. Meet the real Leet and have a chat with him. After the cutscene, explore the room and when you're ready, jack into the LINCspace.

You are now in a virtual reality called the LINCspace. The aim here is to get through the Firewall in front of you and gain backdoor access into MINOS servers. The vertical beams with rotating icons represent links to different platforms. Objects that you can pick up here represent commands/software; they are stored in your inventory, and you may use these commands to manipulate the environment.

Enter MINOS and you will unlock the following achievement:

Head along a straight path leading to a dome-like structure, 'convert' the rotating disc (Convert.exe) on the left to unlock Foster's BASS1 Vintage Clothes, which will be automatically delivered to Graham's bedroom.

Next, access Navigator.exe (ID Data Centre) to reveal a door,
walk through it....

Then, talk to the Oracle Security Control AI (Greta). You have to transfer the data-blocks/cookies from Graham/Leet and place them in order on top of Greta. Stack the biggest cookies at the bottom and the smallest one on the top. It isn't that hard to figure this one out. Tower of Hanoi.

Once you have arranged the data blocks on top of Greta, gain access to it.

You will be automatically unplugged from LINCspace.

Exit Leet's room after exhausting all conversation options with everyone.

DON'T dispose the Bilby Plushy into the furnace burner on your way out. You'll need to return it to Songbird. So lets Head back to Graham’s Apartment!
(*assuming we are playing Path 1 of the 'Two-Faced' achievement)

In Graham’s Apartment, access the MINOS Terminal in his bedroom. Read all of his messages, particularly one with a file attachment which happens to be code for a Holo-Plinth. Navigate to the Holo section of the MINOS menu and select the newly acquired Holo-Plinth (Special Bonsai).

Replace the current Hololens in the Holo-viewer with the Damaged Hololens from your inventory. It will reveal a secret message.


Exhaust all conversation options with Chipworth. Talk to Songbird and then show her the Bilby Plush 🧸 and Graham's Photograph from your inventory. Head downstairs to the garden and make a deal with Tarquin for a way to attend the Aspiration Gala.

Take the monopod to the Piazza and look for Reginald in the VIP lounge of the cafe. Hack the VIP Lounge Door Controls: swap <Open Door> with <Play Refusal> and enter the VIP lounge. When you're done talking to Reginald, 👾 exit the lounge and <Reset> the area hack.

Go beside the Cafe (close to the monopod) and look for a Diagnostician listening to music on her headphones. Engage your hacking device once she gets close to the Cafe Audio System and 👾 swap <Lounge Music> for <Album B-side>. Reginald will now stand closer to the bar (Reginald won't be able to exit the lounge if you forgot to reset the door controls). Hack the Spankles Cafe Terminal and 👾 swap <Alarm> with <Order Drink>.


Use the Spankles Cafe Terminal and the alarm will summon a Speaker Robot (5H0-UT). With Reginald and the 5H0-UT droid in proximity, engage your hacking device again. 👾 Swap the <Aspiration Gala Poem> from Reginald, with the <Aspiration Day> announcement on the 5H0-UT droid.

(Reload your savepoint later to see what happens if you chose <Private Poem> instead 🤓)

Think of your brooch as a pendrive. Go to the Aspiration Brooch Booth and wait for the 5H0-UT droid to get close. Engage your hacking device and 👾 swap <Aspiration Day> from the droid with the <Hologram> on the booth. Then use the Brooch Slot with the Aspiration Brooch in your inventory. Choose any option and the poem will be transferred to your brooch.

Head back to the garden at Graham’s Apartment and give your Aspiration Brooch to Tarquin. The droid will request you to switch to your new Party Clothes. So suit up and let's take the monopod to the Aspiration Gala!! (If you've unlocked the Classic Threads achievement, your retro-suit is already hanging in the bedroom!)

Before you go all "Indiana Jones" with your hacking device, spend some time exploring the area. Interact with Raquel, Alonso, Joey and Astrid (via the Intercom in the elevator room). The aim now is to create a diversion and force Astrid out of the control room.

Time for some sabotage!

Alonso triggers a <Vermin> Ad on the HoloAdvert whenever he gets close to one. Start by hacking the Spankles machine to 👾 trigger an <Alarm> on a successful dispense, and wait for a citizen to order a can of Spankles,

When Alonso comes over to investigate, activate your hacking device. Now, 👾 transfer the <Vermin> command from the HoloAdvert by the Spankles machine to the HoloAdvert by the staircase. Then, stand in the middle of the stairs/bridge heading to the lower platform and activate your hacking device again. 👾 Transfer the <Vermin> command to the Holo-Ad banner on the lower platform. Finally, 👾 transfer the <Vermin> command to a Projection Robot on the lower-platform and apply the hack. This will trigger a cutscene.

With Astrid out of the way, take the Elevator to the Control Room. Use your Crowbar to open the Vent at the corner of the control room. Crawl through the ventilation system and keep heading up the tower. Along the way, you'll have a choice to either move on or listen to the poetry recital. Listen to the recital and unlock the following achievement:

Continue following the suspicious figures and complete the rest of the cutscene. You will automatically unlock this next achievement:

You now control Joey and he defies gravity! Totally hip and rad.

Let's get that Sentry Droid out of the way for Orana.

Head downstairs, use the Console to explore the rooms. Foster and Ember are in Room 3. Power down the empty chairs in Room 3 and exit the console. Physically enter Room 3, fly behind the chairs that were disabled and damage the console behind them (you'll have to do this before the Sentry Droid powers them up again at the console).

After a short while, the Sentry Droid will enter to inspect the damaged chair. Sneak behind and push the Sentry Droid over the railling. Head back to the Center Console and Orana will enter the area. The following achievement will unlock after the cutscene:

While Orana and Ember work on freeing the children, our next objective is to find Leet. Head upstairs, examine the Windows along the way and exit the area.

We're back at the Recycling Centre. Head over to Leet’s place at the Furnace Room in search of Leet and Poppy. After the cutscene, it's time to jack into MINOS via the LINC Interface again.

Head to the dome and activate Navigation.exe to access the Qdos Allocation System. Walk through the door and you'll be transported to a platform which controls how Qdos points are allocated to citizens. Talk to the Disconnected Avatar and listen to Leet's final words.

Note Operators and Operands; particularly '➗' and '⭕️'. Look for a Citizen Type section that says All Citizens. Replace the current operator/operand at this section with '➗' and '⭕️'. Solving this puzzle is relatively straight-forward: any number divided by zero equals infinity ♾!

You'll be unplugged from MINOS and back in Leet's room. Transfer Joey’s motherboard to the Stun d-RYD on Leet's bed. You'll need to create a diversion on your way out to the monopod. Head back into the Furnace Room and open the moonshine distiller Tap. Talk to Joey Prime about the zapping the flammable moonshine. Exit the Recycling Centre.

After the cutscene, catch up with everyone. Look for an Elevator Console around the area and hack it 👾. Take the elevator up and leave through the External Door.

Once outside, head downstairs till you reach the Control Room. After the cutscene, activate your scanner and take a few steps back from the door till you detect 3 objects i.e. Gun Controls, Anemometer & Storm Shutters. 👾 Swap <Green> with <Red> and then swap <Manual Fallback> with <Send Shutter Alert>.

After the cutscene, enter the Control Room and head towards the screens. Engage the scanner and make sure the Land Train Doors and Signal System are within range. Activate the hacking device and 👾 swap <Land Train Gate> with <Main Gate>. On the left section of the screens is a Satellite, but the blinds are in the way (and you can't hack it). 👾 Head back outside and <Reset> the area hack for the shutters.

Re-enter the office and look for a Toaster in the pantry section. Activate the scanner and move around till the Toaster and Satellite are within range. Engage the hacking device and 👾 swap the commands between the two. Pull the lever on the Toaster.

After the cutscene you will unlock the following achievement:

You are now on the way to the Citadel. Exit the monopod and head towards an area over-looking Union City. Pass by the Altar and examine the Vacuum Shell by the corner. The cutscene enters bullet-time when the droids are about to attack you and Orana. Engage the scanner and hack both the Stalker Droids:

👾👾Set Turret Target = Androids.


The cutscene will bring Foster to the Overmann Chamber. Before sitting on the chair, examine an area behind it. This next poster is hidden pretty well. I'll let you have the pleasure of finding it.





Sit on the Overmann Chair to enter MINOS once again. Solve the puzzle by rotating the cubes, it's pretty straightforward. Enjoy the final cutscene.

I kept this guide as concise as possible and it took less than 4 hours to speed-run BASS2 i.e. skipping conversations and only focusing on main tasks. The game has a deeper message that I’m sure most of us can relate to, so take your time and explore as much as you'd like.
