Features
This mod brings back the original species' stats for the following vanilla dinos (including tames from before the nerf!):
  • Argent (normal argent only; x version NOT supported)
  • Griffin
  • Harpagornis (aka pre-TLC argent; does not spawn on its own but can be manually added to spawners if you wish.)
  • Moth
  • Pelas
  • Phoenix
  • Ptero
  • Quetz (including Tek version)
  • Rock Drake (removed in response to Genesis patch, which broke rock drake animation assets)
  • Tapejara (normal tapejara only; x version NOT supported)
  • Wyverns (Fire, Lightning and Poison only; ice and crystal wyverns NOT supported)

This mod's other main feature is that it adds cleanly and removes cleanly, without losing any of your tamed flyers.

This mod gives core-game/vanilla rideable flyers back their original stats by altering their files, therefore it is incompatible with any other mod which also alters vanilla flyers, as one will overwrite the other. This mod cannot affect flyers from other mods, only their mod authors can affect them.

All flyers included in this mod have the following features:
  • Pre-nerf stats including the ability to level speed.
  • Server ini options to allow players to customize each flyer species' stats to their preference. Please see the Admin Spawn Codes section for a detailed list of the server setting variables and how to use them.

Most of the included flyers in this mod also have the following features:
  • The ability to walk backwards.
  • Extra taxidermy poses.
  • Ground attacks. (all except phoenix as they can't land)
  • A taunt "attack"; press 'c' to use. (all except griffin and phoenix)*
  • Wyverns, phoenix and griffins in this mod are also able to use saddle-skins. In order to do so, first craft a Wyvern Stone to attach the saddle-skin to and then place it in their saddle slot.
*Rock Drakes use 'c' for cloaking so their emotes are 'x' to Taunt and 'q' to Play.

This mod also includes the following features:
  • A new Emote: Pet! Use it to show your flyers some love.
  • Wyvern Stone: Added to give classic wyverns and griffins the option of using saddle-skins. The engram is added to the players' learnable engram list and is craftable from their inventory. It will provide the mount +15 armor. (Please note that the Wyvern Stone only supports a single rider, meaning no passengers if it is used on a griffin. If you wish to let a passenger ride a griffin, simply remove its Wyvern Stone.)
  • The Flyer Totem: A structure admin can place to which allows them to spawn in flyer species which aren't native to their server's map. Please see the Admin Tools section for details on how to use this item.
  • An Admin Argent: This creature was added for debugging purposes and isn't really considered a feature of this mod. Use it to help determine if you're having mod compatibility issues. Please see the Admin Tools section for details on how to use this creature.
  • Lots of optional server settings, including:
    • Optional settings to allow wyvern breeding.
    • Optional settings to allow pelagornis to dive under water, like real seabirds.
    • Optional settings to allow phoenix to always be visible.
    • Optional settings to alter flyer stats, as a whole, or as individual species.
    • Optional settings to allow non-native flyer spawning on any map.
Admin Tools
Flyer Totem
The Flyer Totem is an admin-spawnable structure which, once placed anywhere on a server, can be used to monitor the number of CF flyers on a server. If enabled, it can also allow for non-native species of flyers to spawn on any map; see the Spawning Exotic Flyers section for more information.

Much like the Admin Argent, described further below, the Flyer Totem has a radial menu which can be used to monitor the numbers of flyers per species on the server. This option is left open for all players to use so that it may be left as a novelty in public places, if the server owner so wishes.

Note that while reports for all other species are given separately, the SE wyverns (Fire, Lightning, Poison and Alpha) are all shown simultaneously due to them sharing the same core-game spawners.

Admin Spawn Code
cheat giveitem "Blueprint'/Game/Mods/ClassicFlyers/Items/FlyerTotem/PrimalItemStructure_FlyerTotem.PrimalItemStructure_FlyerTotem'" 1 1 false

Admin Argent
The Classic Admin Argent's appearance is a bit different than a standard argent and it comes with a few modifications to help ease testing including strongly upgraded stats, backwards walking, and the ability to fly under water. I chose to make this admin tool as a flyer due to its mobility and its ease of testing wild dinos.

It is able to detect if a flyer belongs to this mod ("Classic "), is vanilla ("Vanilla ") or belongs to another mod ("Modded ") simply by flying close to them.

It has an expanded radial menu that allows it to scan the server for any species of flyer included in this mod and will give a total of how many are currently on the server as well as their break down by type: Classic, Vanilla, or Modded.

Note that while reports for all other species are given separately, the SE wyverns (Fire, Lightning, Poison and Alpha) are all shown simultaneously due to them sharing the same core-game spawners.

*Like with other dino spawn codes, remember that it'll spawn wild.

Here's an option if you don't wanna go the standard PlayersOnly, SpawnDino, DoTame, PlayersOnly route:

Artifical Egg: Classic Admin Argent*
cheat giveitem "Blueprint'/Game/Mods/ClassicFlyers/Dinos/AdminArgent/PrimalItem_ArtificialEgg_ClassicAdminArgent.PrimalItem_ArtificialEgg_ClassicAdminArgent'" 1 1 false
*Use it in your hotbar and it'll hatch fully grown and tame, but at a random level appropriate to your server.

Server ini Options for Speed, Stamina, and Other Stats
Please refer to the Server Options page for a detailed list of server ini options for customizing flyer stats on your server, as well as directions on how to use them.

Want to spawn exotic (non-native) flyer species on any map?
See the Spawning Exotic Flyers section.

Server Options
Server ini Options
Here are the main server settings which are to go in your GameUserSettings.ini file

[ClassicFlyers]
FlyerSpeedMultiplier=1.0
FlyerStaminaMultiplier=1.0
FlyerStaminaRecoveryRate=0.1
FlyerHealthMultiplier=1.0
FlyerWeightMultiplier=1.0
FlyerMeleeMultiplier=1.0
Please note that the quetz is the only flyer with a different FlyerStaminaRecoveryRate; they have a default rate of 0.05, both in vanilla and in this mod.
Please note that FlyerHealthMultiplier cannot be set higher than 1 because doing so will result in flyers having less than max health each time the server reboots which will result in lots of eating. If you do set yours higher than 1, it will automatically default back to 1.

If you don't add any of these lines to your GameUserSettings.ini file, they will automatically be at the defaults listed, which is also the same settings all flyers have been at previously. You don't have to enter all of them, or even any of them. Just use what you need!

The settings listed above are percentages of the default settings. For example 1.0 is the default of 100%, 0.5 is 50% and 1.5 is 150%. The only exception is StaminaRecoveryRate, which will directly overwrite the default setting.

Changing the speed multiplier will affect all modes of movement (flying and walking) and affects both the base movement and additional tamed levels put into speed.

Any settings entered at 0 or below will result in default settings being used.

If you wish for a single species have a different setting, use the same settings above, but replace Flyer with the species tag. For example, to reduce pterie melee by 50%, use PteraMeleeMultiplier=0.5.
Species Tags
  • Argent
  • Harpa
  • Griffin
  • Moth
  • Pela
  • Phoenix
  • Ptera
  • Quetz (also affects Tek Quetz)
  • RockDrake
  • Tapejara
  • Wyvern (effects all species of supported wyvern Fire, Lighting, Poison, and Alpha)
  • AdminArgent

If species-specific codes are used, they will fully replace the general flyer settings for that species. For example, if you used FlyerWeightMultiplier=0.75 with QuetzWeightMultiplier=1.50 all flyers on your server would only be able to carry 75% of the normal weight except for quetzes which could carry 150% of normal.

For another example, if no general setting was entered for flyer speed and ArgentSpeedMultiplier=1.25 was entered, all flyers on your server would have the default of 100% speed except for argents which would have 125% speed.
Server Options - Additional Settings
Want to prevent backwards walking
The following options have been added to the GameUserSettings.ini
[ClassicFlyers]
PreventBackwardsWalking=True

Setting PreventBackwardsWalking to True disables the backwards walking added feature for all flyers included in this mod, except wyverns, as they've always walked backwards.

The setting defaults to False if you don't use it, meaning nothing would change for you.

Want wild phoenix to always be visible
Want wild phoenix to always be visible, even when there is no heatwave Place the following code in your GameUserSettings.ini

[ClassicFlyers]
WildPhoenixAlwaysVisible=1

(Note This will NOT make phoenix magically spawn on maps that don't normally spawn them; they are still only on Scorched Earth.)

Want Classic Wyverns to turn faster
Place the following code in your GameUserSettings.ini

[ClassicFlyers]
WyvernRotationRate=1.2

  • 1.2 is the default setting; increase setting for faster rotation.
  • Not using this option defaults to the standard setting of 1.2 (aka don't want it, don't use it).
  • Cannot be set to less than 1; will return to default.
  • Only affects tamed CF wyverns, and only while they are being ridden.

Note It will not affect Ice Wyverns as they still have not been fully added to the DevKit, and therefore are not yet supported by Classic Flyers.

Want to breed Classic Wyverns
Place the following code in your GameUserSettings.ini

[ClassicFlyers]
AllowWyvernBreeding=1

Note It will not affect Ice Wyverns as they still have not been fully added to the DevKit, and therefore are not yet supported by Classic Flyers.

Note Options like this one will not be added for griffins or phoenix, as they do not have baby data in the main game's PGD file.

Want to allow Classic Pelagornis to dive underwater, like real seabirds
Place the following code in your GameUserSettings.ini

[ClassicFlyers]
AllowDivingPelas=1

Once enabled, while riding a pela, you can toggle this ability on/off with 'q' allowing you to switch between landing upon water, like normal, or diving beneath the surface.
Server Options - Spawning Exotic Species
New server options have been added to allow for exotic (non-native) flyer spawning functionality to the Flyer Totem.
Supported species are:
  • Moth - only native to Scorched Earth and Ragnarok
  • Griffin - only native to Ragnarok
  • Phoenix - only native to Scorched Earth
  • Wyvern - only native to Scorched Earth and Ragnarok*
  • Pteros - not native to Scorched Earth
  • Pelas - not native to Scorched Earth
  • Quetzals - not native to Scorched Earth
  • Tapejaras - included to assist with underspawn issues

*Note: Spawning exotic wyverns and does not magically allow them to lay eggs on non-native maps. That ability will never be added to this mod.

Use the following optional codes in your GameUserSettings.ini to enable these species to spawn on any map (these settings are disabled by default; only use the ones you want):

[ClassicFlyers]
SpawnGriffins=1
SpawnPhoenix=1
SpawnMoths=1
SpawnPteros=1
SpawnPelas=1
SpawnTapejaras=1
SpawnQuetzals=1

Critical note: You will also need to lower the MaxSpeciesCount for any species with exotic spawning enabled. Suggested amounts are listed below for each map.
Note: If you want phoenix to stay visible, set them always visible with WildPhoenixAlwaysVisible=1.

Failing to do so will lead to overspawning.
Additional Note: SpawnWyverns=1 will also allow alpha wyverns to spawn in small numbers and SpawnQuetzals=1 will also allow tek quetzals to spawn in small numbers.

After enabling any exotic species in the ini settings, each Flyer Totem must also be manually enabled in-game by selecting "Enable Exotic Spawns Here" on its menu. Exotic flyers will then occasionally spawn directly over an enabled Flyer Totem. Each Flyer Totem may be toggled back off in-game by selecting "Disable Exotic Spawns Here" on its menu.

Use the following optional settings in your GameUserSettings.ini to alter the spawn frequency and spawn location:

[ClassicFlyers]
SpawnerFrequency=60
SpawnHeight=8000
SpawnRange=30000

  • Each of these settings is shown with their default settings; alter then as you see fit.
  • SpawnerFrequency is in seconds; 60 means 1 spawn every minute.
  • SpawnHeight adjusts how high exotic flyers spawn above enabled Flyer Totems.
  • SpawnRange adjusts how far exotic flyers can spawn from enabled Flyer Totems.

Each time the Flyer Totem enters a spawning phase, it will randomly select one of the enabled exotic flyer species. Wyverns are weighted together, with the species selected at random. Griffins, phoenix, quetzes, and tapejaras are weighed at twice the spawn rate of wyverns. Moths, pelas, and pteros are weighed at four times the rate wyverns. If only some of the exotic species are enabled for your map, some spawn phases will be skipped.

Enabled exotic flyer species will no longer spawn once their wild populations reach 1/2 of their MaxSpeciesCount settings. Feel free to adjust those settings to suit your taste.

Note that each Flyer Totem can potentially spawn in exotic flyers; feel free to adjust your SpawnerFrequency to compensate if you have multiple Flyer Totems enabled.
Console Commands
They can be used like any other in-game admin commands.

To count all members of a given species, tames included:
cheat ScriptCommand CF CountSpecies
The count will be sent to the enacting admin in-game via server message.

To cull wild members of a given species:
cheat ScriptCommand CF CullSpecies
A total of the number culled will be sent to the enacting admin in-game via server message.
*note: Does not include unconscious members of that species. Unlike the new Flyer Culling system, it does include any which are currently out of stasis.
*note: Only affects CF flyer versions.

Replace "Species" with any of the species names below:
  • Wyverns (includes all three supported species together: fire, lightning and poison)
  • AWyverns (alpha wyverns)
  • Argents
  • Moths
  • Pelas
  • Pteros
  • Quetzals
  • Tapejaras
  • Griffins
  • Phoenix
  • RockDrakes

To stop the Flyer Culler:
cheat ScriptCommand CF StopCullingTimer

To restart the Flyer Culler:
cheat ScriptCommand CF RestartCullingTimer

To instantly enacts a culling cycle for all wild flyer species:
cheat ScriptCommand CF CullAllFlyers
*note: Does not include unconscious members of that species. Unlike the automated cycles of the new Flyer Culling system, it does include any which are currently out of stasis.
*note: Only affects CF flyer versions.
