Introduction
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a really fun game, but has quite a few issues. Here are my solutions to every issue I encountered during my 100% run.
Graphics & Audio
When I first started the game, I had some some audio bugs (horrible static at first, then no audio at all when I changed it from the default 720p to 1080p)
They were caused by running the game in fullscreen. I edited the settings file to make it run in borderless mode (set BorderlessWindow to 1) and 100%ed the game with no further issues.
You'll find the file at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGO STAR WARS The Force Awakens\PCCONFIG.TXT and it's easy to understand.
Left analogue stick issues
During certain actions when using a controller, the left analogue won't register properly. Sometimes it can be particularly bad and make progress impossible. You can work around this by briefly changing your controls to keyboard or adding a second player with keyboard controls.
Shooter section not progressing
I had this problem in the Rathtar Hunting level, during the shooter section near the end of the level.
Sometimes you'll hit the required targets and it won't progress, requiring you to quit the level. Some people say it only gets stuck if you start from the Millennium Falcon hub and won't happen if you start by selecting from the Galaxy Map, but it happened anyway when I did that.
When it happened to me, I quit the game and continued the next day. The game surprisingly let me continue at the point where I quit and progressed that time. It did not happen again during Free Play.
Vehicle not moving during on-rail sections
In the on-rail sections, sometimes you can't move the vehicle but can shoot. Probably another controller-only issue with the left analogue stick.
Try pausing and un-pausing, or messing with the controls. If it still refuses to work, finish or quit the level and return to the point in Free Play. It was a rare bug for me, so simply returning later may work for you.
Can't start race (or other missions)
This isn't actually a bug. Some missions can't be started until you clear a level or other mission. Races are particularly troublesome as some require a specific vehicle. Some vehicles look very similar, so make sure to try any similar looking vehicles. A race in D'qar requires Poe's X-wing and won't accept the regular X-wing that looks almost identical.
Achievements not unlocking
Some achievements may not unlock. Some Steam games have this issue for various reasons. If possible, repeat the action to unlock it and see if it works the next time. If all else fails, see if there's a handy tool for achievements.

Have you tried verifying the game files?

I don't recall any lag when I played the levels. I may have experienced some in the large hub worlds, but the game was perfectly playable. You may need to upgrade your hardware.

It probably won't come to that, i'll just get used to the keyboard controls. Thanks though!

Sorry, I can't help much. I used an Xbox 360 controller, so my controller keybinds were already correct. Rebinding the keyboard was a bit awkward.

There are some programs to use a PS4 controller as an Xbox controller. Then you shouldn't need to change any keybinds.

Alternatively you could try looking for the keybind save file, then editing it. Might be in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGO STAR WARS The Force Awakens\ .

Honestly, the best solution is to buy an Xbox controller (for Windows 7, it must be a 360 controller). Lots of PC games have issues with non-Xbox controllers.
If the official ones are too expensive, there's lots of cheap knock-offs. Less than £20 (~$27) on Amazon with free delivery. Black Friday and Cyber Monday could lower it further.
I used to waste hours on making my PS3 controller work with games. Since buying some 360 controllers a few years ago, I haven't had any issues. :waifu:

I can't configure keybinds for my controller, everything keeps binding to X axis down on my dualshock ps4 controller. I think this might be related to your "Left analogue stick issues" but i have no clue what your trying to say to do.
