To start off, change the "HOTD_NG.exe" to compatibility mode for Windows 7 (most people have had success with Windows 7), next is the issue the game has with graphics. This game needs to run on Integrated graphics, it has issues with anything else & here's how to do that.

1) Nvidia has removed the option to right click the .exe file and to select "Run with graphics processor" instead you have to open "Nvidia Control Panel" either by right clicking the desktop or searching for it. Go to "Manage 3D settings" and then beside the Global settings tab, click/open "Program Settings". Once in program settings find or select "The typing of the dead overkill" and select "Integrated Graphics" then hit Apply and once applied, exit.

WITH THIS FIX, STEP 1) IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND NOT NECESSARY FOR IT TO WORK SO YOU CAN SKIP THIS STEP IF STEP 2 WORKS FOR YOU, IF NOT, USE BOTH STEP 1 AND 2.

2) So Windows actually overrides Nvidias option on Windows 10, as stated by Nvidia themselves. What you want to do is as follows:

- Open windows "Display Settings" either by right clicking desktop or using the search bar in windows
- Scroll to the bottom of "Display Settings" to find "Graphics Settings" and click/open it
- Click on the Browse button and then choose the executable for the application you wish to force the GPU
- Click on the Options button to bring up the GPU select window
- Choose the GPU you wish to override for the given application which SHOULD BE YOUR INTEGRATED GRAPHICS
- Save settings
