Introduction
Time Drifter is a 2D solo drifting game, where you simply get stuck in a time machine vehicle as a janitor that has no idea what he is doing in a Roman Colosseum.

You will have to drift your way through levels of gladiators, running them down to clear each level. There are limited "lives" and "power-ups" like old school arcade games.

Ratings are appreciated!
The Backstory
There is quite a comedic animated story line that precedes the actual game. I don't want to show you a ton of screenshots on it, as that spoils the presentation, but the story really has nothing to do with the gameplay.

Tip: If you want to skip the animation, simply hold down your mouse button to skip it.
The Concept
So to give you an example of gameplay, this is the first level. You simply drift through and run down as many gladiators as you can without getting hit by them. I've seen people hit over 100 levels in the community hub for this game.

The Controls
The controls are fairly simple, but also the reason I decided to set up this guide. If you speed through the setup of the game, you will completely miss the section that shows you the input for the game. The controls are not shown in the main menu or options.

Click on the input tab when you see this window to view and edit the controls.

Since the input options are easy to miss, I'm going to list the controls in a table I created to look like the actual input list. You can change the controls to suit you, but only if you enter them into that input tab at first launch. If you missed it, simply uninstall and then reinstall the game to get back to that first window.

Sources and Shoutouts
I give credit where credit is due!

I created the avatar image by cropping an in game screenshot. Most of the screenshots above were taken within the Time Drifter game itself.

The desktop screenshot shows a "De Lorean" wallpaper found on Wallpaper Engine that may be copyrighted, so I'm giving that author a shout out. That author is visualdon on Steam. Since the game has a time travel theme, I thought the wallpaper was fitting. The screenshot doesn't do it justice, it's a nice visual loop with lots of sharp eye candy.

Last but not least, I used OneNote on Windows 10 to effortlessly create the table for The Controls section. It's great having decent software for this sort of thing.
Another First!
This is the first guide created for Time Drifter on Steam! It also looks like this might have been a starter game for the Indy Studio that published it. Thanks to Lonely Boy Studio Inc. for giving us another Free to Play game to check out. Good luck with your future game development projects.
Steam Awards
Thanks for the Steam Awards!

I have been creating guides for the Steam Community for a few years now, long before Steam Awards were a thing. I love creating content for the games I play. In 2020, Valve decided to reward players that create content with the points shop system.

The Steam points are very appreciated, and certainly encourages me to create more content for the gaming community. I even spent a few of the points to give more space for Steam guides on my profile. This lets me present up to seven of them on my profile at once. If you want to see what else I've created, you should check out the Other Published Steam Guides section of this guide!
