More Skills lvl99

Description
The second version of my skillmod, includes minor tweaks to the skills I already made, as well as removing some of the vanilla and modded skills (and including new alternatives)

For this version, there are 5 active techniques for each defender (almost vanilla), as well 8 passive skills (which have been my main focus).
Each skill have 10 levels, azra's have 20 (azra have no new skills, since adding skills to her messes up the game).
Defender's can go up to level 99, 1-60 are vanilla levels, 61-99 just makes you all the crazy powerful you want :).

Note: Armor break have been added to more classes, as well as light have been introduced to more classes, these are usually slightly weaker alternatives to give you a choice when setting up defenders.

Also, gonna grab some help "Ghuldarkar" wrote as a comment on another mod, this refers to the part of a savefile you need to alter to change a savefile from 1 mod to another.

"Save file editing:
Export your old normal save file and open the file externally with the notepad/texteditor. Look for these lines (the version number may vary):

<version number="1.1.38"/>
<demo_mode value="false"/>

in between them you add a line so that it looks as follows:

<version number="1.1.38"/>
<mod id="more_skills_lvl99"/>
<demo_mode value="false"/>

save the file and import it in the loaded mod file select menu."
Importing savefiles from vanilla games into this mod should work fine, you just need to "respec" all your defenders, since some skills have been altered or removed
(even if a skill is removed, you regain your full amount of points if you respec, I had this issue come up many times under testing ;))

Hope you enjoy it, please give feedback if you think any skill could need a change (may it be azra's, a defenders, or maybe even zelemirs).

Also - Did a test run and noted that the first time you get Markus (the knight), he have the wrong amount of skill points (oops, silly mistake), anyways, just reset points on your new heroes if the skill selection seems off.

***Note: To use the mod properly, use keyboard shortcuts. The game doesn't handle more than 6 passive skills very well.***

@Shiny Haven't been in touch with defenderquest for a while, so I wont promise it, maybe it'll be good to get a new project started though.

Any plans for the Deluxe version of this mod?

you work on it?

This mod was made for the old game, and as far as I know there is no conversion, or steam workshop for deluxe. I haven't really been up to date much on the progress though.

why this mod dont use in deluxe version?

@Anomaly, the game doesn't handle the amount of passive skills very well, so to get around the issue try with your mouse on the game area to use the keyboard shortcuts to place defenders. I was hoping DQ 2 would come out (he promised a port for DQ 1 in the DQ 2 engine), hopefully that will fix it.

Getting the same issue as the poster down below. This mod causes the game to hang during the first tutorial mission. Thoughts, author?

If you can live with bad string names I think it can be done by copy pasting,
(Don't remember how either mod is set up, you might have to pick the right files to keep)
To fix the string names you have to manually edit the language file.

This is just as far as I remember, it really depends on which files each mod manipulates.

if i were to manually merge them, do i just open up the file and copy paste the text of one underneath the other? like i'm really bad at this sort of thing
Kongdej  [author] 17 Jun, 2015 @ 5:42pm
@Ryuko not without manually merging them, due to the way mods are set up.
It's been a while since I've messed with DQ, and was really waiting for DQ2 before considering messing with modding it agian.
