How to find a match in multiplayer and prevent crashes IMPORTANT
By Arashenstein
STEP 1:

Ok i see alot of people here saying Multiplayer is dead and no one is playing etc, well IT IS NOT DEAD, the reason you dont find matches in multiplayer saying no session found etc is because of DLC and Season pass, if you have got any DLC or season pass and try to find a multiplayer match REMEMBER, you need to change Match preferences from "ALL" to "BATTLE" as shown in this screen shot:

Otherwise you will not find any games, and yes this is an unfixed bug thanks to UBISOFT! But i still appreciate that they patched this game for a year and atleast fixed the graphics issues and updated them.

NOTE: if you do not have the season pass or the DLCs you do not need to do the step above.

STEP 2:

For any UBI game you have to completely disable your firewall and also any 3rd party netword adapter program you have such as hamachi or tunngle (if you have them installed) completely disable them from your control panel > Network settings. Game codes gets in conflict with firewall and 3rd network programs and it detects them as your main connection to internet but since these things are not connected to internet then game is not able to log you in and you think servers are down.

See you ingame!

IMPORTANT!!!

TO PREVENT THE RANDOM CRASHES MAKE SURE YOU START UPLAY IN OFFLINE MODE THEN YOU START THE GAME:

Step1: do NOT run the game via your steam library, lunch Uplay from start menu then click on your avatar picture in Uplay client then click on "Go Offline" and after that start the game from Uplay (you will still get the steam overlay too so dont worry)

Step2: can i still play the game online even though i am logged in as offline on Uplay? Yes you can this game has a seperate friendlist from Uplay so just search your friend's name in the multiplayer menu in Friends tab and add them, you may need to restart your game to see them online (That is for coop) and for normal multiplayer just search normally for a match and you get a match however if you wanna search with a party you need to do the last step for adding/inviting your friends to your lobby.

MORE RECENT WORKAROUND to random crashes without any error box is:
1) START UPLAY,
2) START GR:FS - let it log you in and go to the main menu screen,
3) alt+tab, and set uplay to offline mode (this will start another instance of the grfs that will be offline -> close it) OR ctrl+shift+esc (it'll open windows aplication manager)-> kill uplay launcher process
4) return to the game You started first and have fun with all online features!

Also there is discord channel for GR:FS where we help eachother and set-up multiplayer matches regularly!: JOIN US here: https://discord.gg/mB5KMD4

I'm glad people still trying like we do, I can still play it with some sort of trouble and if you got time maybe you can make it solved: I and my 3 brothers try to play together but only 1 host can only invites 1 another, the 3rd one seem isolate with out any invitation come in. But any change like squad, squad name, squad update still available and in posted. If you have made much of effort, per harp you may know what is wrong with our situation, thank Arashenstein

Not anymore there is no one online and the NAT confiugration does not work for every type of router to allow access to multiplayer.
