Introduction
In this guide I will be explaining how to make Chao age faster, how to make them reincarnate faster, go in depth on creating a Chaos Chao, how to know what type of chao you will get, and ways to make breeding more efficient. Most of this information can also be found on chao island.
Chao life (egg to adult)
Chao child lifespans are based on a near-invisible value called "Magnitude". Magnitude is determined by time and fruit eaten. When a chao is first born, magnitude begins at 0.000. At 1.000, a chao will evolve and become an adult. Magnitude is increased slightly each time a fruit is eaten. It takes around 70 fruit to increase magnitude from 0 to 1.
Once a chao has become an adult, the value "remaining life" will determine how long until the chao either reincarnates or dies. Each chao's remaining life value is different, but with each fruit eaten, this value will go down. Once the value reaches 0, the chao dies or reincarnates. When the chao's age is higher, this value will decrease more with each fruit. For a chao to reincarnate, they must have a happiness of 50% or higher.
Chaos Chao
A Chaos Chao is a type of chao that does not die or reincarnate.

In order to make a chaos chao you will need your chao to have these conditions met:
1. Your chao must have reincarnated twice.
2. Your chao must have held each animal at least once.
3. Your chao must have a happiness of 80%.
4. Your chao must be prepared as a normal type.

Common Misconceptions about these rules are that chao can only have 1 of each animal. This is not true. When an animal is held, the chao receives the animal's attributes. The requirement to become a chaos chao is to have all the different animal attributes and to also be prepared as a normal type.

To clarify, your chao should be a child when they are given all the animals. This is because your chao will lose all of its attributes upon reincarnation. When the chao evolves into an adult they will become a chaos chao if all the requirements are met.
Chao Type
Chao type is not based on which type of animal your chao has held the most. It is based on a Swim/Fly Run/Power Scale. There are 2 parts to this scale: Swim/Fly and Run/Power. These parts each are based off of a -10 to 10 scale. In Swim/Fly, if your value was -7, your chao would be swim dominant. In Run/Power, if your value was 9, your chao would be power dominant. If your Swim/Fly Run/Power values were 3 and -9, your chao would be a run type, because run is the most dominant value. A normal type chao happens when your values are 0 and 0. These numbers are based off how many of each animal your chao has held. Each animal gives your chao a |1| value. Adding one run type animal (such as a rabbit or cheetah) will make a value like -9 go to -10. Keep in mind that the cap is |10|, so if you were to give your chao 200 run type animals and then later give them 10 power animals, their Run/Power value will be 0. So if you are unsure of what your chao's values are, then the best way to get them to normal type is to give your chao 20 run animals and 20 swim animals, then later give them 10 fly animals and 10 power animals.
Breeding
Chao breeding can be used for the phenotypes (color, texture) and genotypes (skills, lifespan) of a chao. Phenotypes have recessive and dominant traits while genotypes are randomized among the parent chao. When breeding for genotypes like an all S rank chao, resetting will determine how many chao you have to breed. This is important to know because the most time spent breeding chao is when they are being grown from a child to an adult. When I got my S rank chao, while buying eggs I reset until I had an A in any category. Once I had an A chao for each of the main 4 categories, I began to age them so their A would become an S. When I had 2 S chao, i would breed them to get 1 A and 1 S. Then, I would turn their 1 A into an S. Once this process was done, I bred to get 2 chao with 3 S and an A so I could combine them to get a natural 5 S. This process took a total of about 20 hours. For each black market egg I reset an average of 7 times, for each bred chao, I reset an average of 10 times.

Quick correction, chao stat alignments don't vary from -10 to 10, but from -20 to 20. Animals provide +2 in their respective stats while chaos drives give +1.
