The Economics of Rolling - updated June 6,2022
By OlderThanEwe
Yes, selling joint packages is more profitable than any other merch. Once you have a rolling machine it's probably the only merch you want to sell - unless you're down for rolling them all manually then have at it!. Here is a breakdown of the profitability of rolling.

Profitability of Packaging Joints - updated 2022-06-06

Remember that as new strains become available sometimes they have lower THC. The strains listed are the strains to use for that package type. Once you can start packaging joints, there's no need to sell doobies, once you can package blunts there's no reason to sell joints, etc.

If you are rolling blunts or joints or doobies for marketing, use the best strain you can that meets the minimum needed THC. The better the strain, the lower the cost per gram.

Please note, this guide doesn't incorporate supplements, just "raw" growing costs/revenues.

Update 2022-06-06: The concept in this spreadsheet still applies during early game. At the beginning of the game, money is tight and you need to be turning your money over as fast as possible with profitable sales to keep growing your treasury to fund expansion. As such, stick to rolling the best 3-pack you can once you have a roller. Don't bother with any other merch - 3 packs have a better profit margin - and only stock the best 3 pack you can as it will have the best available profit margin for you. Once your shop is close to max size, then you can start investing in building inventory in a variety of strains for rating and other deliveries.

I use Sour Diesel for my blunts, cheaper than Bubble Gum

@hamodcol99 Probably not the best place to ask for help with the game, but a patch just went live that should fix the problem.

man, the image is invalid, its shows but only shrinked so, not able to see original size.
You need to upload this via steam, in guide settings/modifiing.

1.First look up and upload the image from your drive to steam,
2.Then you can select it on the right panel and choose your how you want to incorporate it on guides.
3.This will auto build a code in markup to link the image that is now stored in steam cloud.

They pay the cost of the lower strain then and you get no xp.

Oh, I carry 1 gram of each and then the best sativa and indica. So when someone tries to buy a Sativa that I only have 1 gram , clerks will upsell the Sativa I have in stock, Then, there are a few strains I don't sell at counter (for delivery only) .

@Older
Was the last time you played pre sellify app? These days not carrying variety hurts your sales a ton.

@Oilpro - Not saying it more profitable than bud, but it's apples and oranges. Packaging and merch are additional revenue streams. Bud sales happen. Secondary sales (packs and merch) are on top of that. This just shows how to maximize your use of funds on secondary sales.

With regard to bud, the same principle applies. Why spend your money growing Ak-47 if you can invest that same amount growing something better like Maui Wowie? That why my primary strategy is just to sell the best Sativa and the best Indica strain I can. I may grow and inventory other strains for deliveries, but I don't make those available for counter sales.

@Oilpro - Higher Profit Percentage means a higher return on investment. So $10,000 invested in rolling will generate more revenue than $10,000 invested in merch. In early to mid game, when money is tight, maximizing return on investment by focusing on rolling and not merch really helps move things along for you! Late game, when money is abundant, I move to a mainly merch strategy because I'd rather spend time at the beach than hovering over a rolling machine :-)

@George Costanza - Just look at the Seed Cost / Gram column. Rolling a joint 3-pack with Maui Wowie which costs $4.44 gram would cost $13.32 ($4.44 x 3) versus a weed cost of $21.42 using AK-47. So total cost would be 13.32 + 9 + 25= $47.32 . Against $80 Revenue would be a margin of 40.85% .

Thanks for the suggestions all, I'll do something similar for concentrates in the coming weeks.
