Introduction
Hello! I have created a detailed guide on Tool Crafting combinations for Hammerting!
There were similar resources but I hadn't seen anyone break everything down in full detail, and I prefer to have full accurate information for everything craftable in the game. I organized and color coded the most useful information in one concise cheat-sheet, designed to be easy to reference quickly and effectively. I hope you enjoy this quick guide and it helps you save time in deciding not just what may be the best weapon, but every available alternative for when you don't just have the "best material" for everything.

Made to view well with "Dark Reader" for Chrome and Firefox, but fine without as well.

Guide Contents
Last Updated: Aug 29th, 2021 : Stable Branch 0.9.20

: Includes the Following :

: [Section 1] All material resource values detailed and color coded by quality (Hardness, Preciousness, Resilience, Weight, Level).
: [Section 1] Weapon and Tool components and their specific multipliers.
: [Section 2] A quick cheat-sheet of which stats are positive and negative for each job type.
: [Section 3] The bonuses each tool blueprint offers.

: [Section 4] Detailed tool breakdown with each component made with every possible material, calculated to a total score that it would give for the applied job.
:: [Section 4] Sorted by Job Type, then by Blueprint and applicable heads and handles. Color coded to rank the performance of each combination.
:: [Section 4] Includes all tools and weapons as of 0.9.20.

: [Section 5] Detailed armor and clothing breakdown showing what all component combinations offer for each stat on the armor.
:: [Section 5] Extra cheat-sheets of best armor component combinations for different goals, and the final stats for the combination.
:: [Section 5] Certain stats on the armor and clothing currently do not increase as they should, notes provided to clarify.
:: Includes all armors as of 0.9.20.

: Rarity is not in calculation but currently it is only a small flat bonus of +20/+30/+50/+80 added before the job bonus is applied. This benefits poor performing tools the most and high performing tools the least. I have requested the devs to change this to a percentage bonus.

: To-Do :
::: Factor in blueprint bonuses/penalties to Preciousness and Weight in final calculations. Done!
::: Add Armors. Done!
::: Add both hammer heads to blacksmith, metallurgy, building and whitesmithing. Done!
::: Add Jewelry. (Currently I don't think there is much difference in Jewelry, optimal is likely just orichalcum, preciousness. The most important factor in jewelry bonuses is actually rarity, unlike in tools. Mythic far outclasses the rest, even if made of copper.)
::: Add axes to sheet. (Currently left out because they do not perform best in slot for any job. But I do find they are useful to craft in bulk to sell to factions requiring axes with double (!!) or triple (!!!) demand. Orichalcum [hawk head, curved handle] works well for this if you have a lot.)
::: Calculate speed bonus on weapons, supposedly Burnished Demon Bone Handle outclasses everything due to preciousness adding speed. (Not sure how to definitively calculate the speed effect on combat at this time.)

I noticed a bug with Runic Bones: the Preciousness comes out exactly 28 higher and the weight comes out exactly 11.9 higher, after multipliers. This flat bonus then gets multiplied further when making handles and hilts. This makes even the lightest animal bone handle heavier than the heaviest heavy metal straight handle. Late game, this doesn't really impact the best of the best options, but it impacts early game strongly.

Posting this here mainly for future guide users, as I don't expect any updates from the devs to address it.

The work you did here is much appreciated. I put together one, stopped playing and deleted it. After starting a new game up, I'm so very happy you were there for us.

Any chance we could get a new update for this? Given the changes with bone handles and new material, the differences are pretty amazing. Demon bone for tools like the pickaxe, chisel, and cook's ladle are just an incredible difference for your little dwarves.

so the cloth stuff are useless aside from abundance once you've got the farms going?

Thanks @onlyicemac ! Had there been any major change in new updates to tools? If so I could make the updates pretty easily since the sheet is all formula based.
