We can directly modify the same game files of Secrets of Raetikon to change the position that our character will spawn in when we load the game. To do this follow these steps:
  • Open the "user.progress.xml" file in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Secrets of Raetikon\save\sync\master"
  • Edit the numbers to the right of "playerPosition"
  • Save the file and restart the game. Your starting position should change. If it doesn't fix the problem, keep trying - with trial and error you'll eventually get unstuck

To further enhance this useful guide, I would add that if you edit the numbers like this:

playerPosition="0.0 0.0"

you should be in the center of the current level.
