Some tips for achievement hunters...
If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers is a point-and-click game made in Adventure Game Studio (AGS) by Dead Idle Games. It features a collection of stories with missable and story-related (unmissable) achievements.

How many playthroughs do you need to complete achievements?

Only one, but, since the game has a few missable achievements, it is very unlikely you get them all in your first playthrough. I suggest you backup you save when you complete each act. To do so, press ESC key and save your game. Your savegame is located in the savegames folder, in My Documents (Windows 10).
Prologue
February 1929, somewhere in Central Asia.

A train, a lot of snow, and a party. Watch cutscene
Act I - The Silent Room
Watch cutscene. You have to find the telegram. The telegram is in the desk on the right. Read it, and choose a answer (to get "Just Keep It" achievement: choose the 2nd answer, and look at the watch. During the next discussion: when the watch is mentioned, tell Patrick you want to give it back). There's a complete guide for this achievement and which answers to choose here. This answer defines the path the story this act will take.

Enter bathroom. Look yourself in the mirror. Return to room, enter the room in the right side. Look the flowers on the left side of screen. Put them in the table near the sofa. Try to play some music on radio. Open chest of drawers in room. Examine bed, painting over bed. I don't know exactly what triggers the doorbel, but I examined the bed and it triggered the rest of the gameplay. The door buzzer rings, open door. Patrick has arrived. Offer him a drink, take a drink in the table at the left side, and give it to Patrick. Talk to him, and give his Rolex back when he asks for it.

- Following events happen if you choose the first answer after reading telegram("He's thrilled...":
When he says he is breaking up with you and asks to sit down and talk, go to bathroom and look yourself in the mirror (achievement "I Just Need A Moment"). Take the Rolex in the chest of drawers in the room and give it to Patrick. If you offer to call him a taxicab, you will get an achievement ("Good Ridance").

Something happened. Examine Patrick's body. Enter room. Answer phone. Enter bathroom. Use hand basin.

Go to room. There's and envelope and a mask in the bed. Examine them.
Act II - The slow vanishing of Lady Winterbourne
If you let the woman sleep, you get an achievement ("Just A Bit Longer"). Wake up. Examine medicine near bed, armoire, draped cloth. Examine the ball of yarn near bed, then the windows. When you are ready, exit room. She says she need clothes. Click armoire. She will walk there, but forget what to do. Click bed, ant then medicine near bed.

An envelope has arrived! Examine it. Exit the room. Examine heavy door on the right. Take ornate glass in the desk. She will use it to hear the conversation. The medicine is in the cabinet downstairs!

Go to your room and take your medicine (near bed). Things changed a bit. Use the harp (achievement Gnossiene). Analyze photos in the desk. Note their order (Maman and I in Paris, February 1923; Maman and I in Vienna, April 1926; Maman and I in New York, October 1925). Examine stuff around you in the room and corridor. When you ready, go through the stairs. She will get dizzy, and forget what she was trying to do.

Go back to your room. When you enter the room, things will get dark. Go to your bed.

Another envelope! Examine it! It will say something about a Ming Vase (the one in the corridor). Also, the housemaid has the key to cabinet (medicine). Go to corridor, try to open heavy door. It's empty. Try to go through the stairs. She will get upset about the Ming Vase.Take it, and she will break it.

Try to go through the stairs again. You reached the parlour. Examine stuff here. A clock, some books, flowers (achievement "Bookworm": read all books in the parlour). The medicine should be in the cabinet, but you have to break the glass to take it. Take fireplace poker near fireplace, and use it on Ming Vase fragments (achievement "Looking For Trouble", and then smash the cabinet glass (parlour). Take medicine. Examine stuff around you.

Examine gramophone. You can hear three records. She says the records bring memories. You should hear the records in the same order she traveled to those places. You don't need to hear all, just a few seconds of each record.

1st: "Parigi, o cara' [Paris, my love] by Giuseppe Verdi;
2nd:"My New York" by Mal Hallett and his Orchestra.
3rd: "Three old Viennese dances" by Fritz Keisler.

She needs some rest. Go to your room, and examine the harp. Go to sleep.

When you wake up, examine the envelope. She needs her medicine. Go to parlour, and use medicine in cabinet. She will read the letter. Go to foyer (right exit). Use the clock, take clock key, it's stopped at three o'clock, she can't wind it also. Read the newspaper. Read "A treaty on clocks" in the bookshelf (parlour). Humm, average delay of seven minutes. Use table clock and set 02:53 as time. The big clock is also working! Go to foyer.

Conservatory puzzle
: examine the table and chairs, then the plants between the yellow and white flowerpots. Then you'll examine the shrubbery in the down-left side of screen, and then the bushes on the other side. Examine the table and chairs again. Examine the pond, and then the bench near the pond. There's something at the bottom of the pond. You need something to take it out. Go to foyer and take the umbrella. Examine the pond again. Go to foyer and read again the newspaper. Go to Henry's study ("heavy door"). Watch cutscene, then go to parlour.

Examine envelope. The act ends.
Act III - The nameless ritual
Watch cutscene. Choose any disease. People will mock you.

At home, examine you jacket on bed. Take morphine. Exit room, knock on apartment B01 (Achievement "Angel of mercy"). Go back to your room. You'll see a triangle in front of the mirror. There are colored bowls (green, red and black) at the vertices of triangle. Examine astral chart on the wall. Mars, Venus and Saturn are aligned tonight. On the desk there's a book. Transcription:

"The Sun burns in golden flames. A violet mantle shall devour Mercury. Cast ye the symbol of Venus onto flames of emerald. And engulf in crimson all that belongs to Mars. A raging azure inferno for Jupiter. A black grave for Saturn."

This book is related to to bowls and planets.

Next to herb jars, read "Planetary correspondences". Transcription:
"The Sun shines on the Heliotrope. Mercury smells of fresh Hyssop. The visions of Wormwood rule over Mars. Venus is the sweetness of the Rose. Sage is the wisdom of Jupiter. The Hemlock is Saturn's blessing."

Take Rose and put it in copper (green - "emerald") bowl. Take Hemlock and put it in lead (black) bowl. Take Wormwood and put it in the iron (red - "crimson") bowl.

For the second part of the ritual: Hanging on the wall there's a image of a man with many knives. Transcription:
"The Sun rules the intellect. Venus makes the heart yearn. Mercury is the hand in darkness. Mars wields the sword. Jupiter hungers for power, and casts Saturn's genitals into the sea."

Take Athame [en.wikipedia.org]in the desk, and cut yourself in
forehead, chest, left hand, right hand, stomach and crotch to get achievement "The Wound Man", even though he says it's not right. To complete the ritual, use the Athame in your chest ("Venus"), groin ("Saturn"), and right hand ("Mars"). Enter the circle, and then enter the mirror.

Talk to Wound Man, who says only gibberish. Take lamp (on Wound Man). Exit room (the exit on located at the same spot, when comparing to "normal" world, but it is revealed only when you come closer). Knock on Apartment B01 (achievement "Angel of Mercy"). Go through the stairs. Keep going ahead. You are now in some kind of library (achievement "Erudite": examine all the bookshelves). Talk to librarian, and examine scroll. Regarding each excerpt of the scroll, you have to find a book in this library. When you come closer the right book, Samuel will say something, and you'll hear a characteristic sound. Examine the bookshelf, and you'll get the book. Give the book to librarian. In total, you have to find five books.

When you give the last book to the librarian, you'll be teleported to another place. Cross the bridge, and you reach a field hospital. Talk to Reverend Williams.

There are three men you abandoned in the field hospital. Examine and talk to them. Examine medical supplies. You found some opium pills. You now need water to give the pills to the man with pillow. Next to the men lying on a bed, there's a canteen. Take it and fill it in the baptismal font. Interact with the man with pillow. He passes away, and you can take the pillow. Interact with man lying on a bed. He passes away, and you take the bullets. Interact with the man behind a wall. He also passes away. Now you can enter the confessional booth.

For the last trial, the people will say a phrase, and you have to click the people in the same order. This will be done three times. When it ends, exit the room. You'll meet yourself. Take invitation in the bed, and enter mirror. You'll be in the train again for the epilogue of the game.

On steam deck you would need an external keyboard to set the clock in act two. At least that was the only way I found.

I’m on the Steam Deck—the game says it’s fully compatible, but I can only type the numbers 1-4 on the left trackpad. Does anyone know if it’s possible to type 0 and 5 on the Steamdeck at all? Because as of right now, the game can’t be completed without typing the correct time into the clock in chapter 2. :(

Is the Bookworm achievement bugged? I've tried to get it in 2 different new games and it doesn't unlock. It doesn't matter if I've taken my medicines or not.

Just a clarification, to get the "Bokkworm" achievement you need to take your medicine first from the cabinet!
