What is the Animaze Editor
The Animaze Editor is an authoring tool that enables artists, hobbyists and professionals, to add content to Animaze powered multi-platform applications, such as Holotech Studios developed apps.
What are the Animaze Editor Functions
The Animaze Editor features the following functions:

  • import 3D models that serve as Avatars (animated characters), Props (attachable to
avatars or to the scene) and Scenes. Current format support is .FBX
  • edit, debug and adjust properties of the imported 3D models:
  • animations
  • materials
  • pivot position and rotation
  • scale
  • combine different 3D models together
  • define item’s properties such as thumbnail, friendly names, descriptions.
  • create Particle Systems that can be attached to any item
  • create full 3D Scenes with light setup, skybox, sound sources and other items (e.g. props, particles systems)
  • bundle and upload the created items (Avatars, Props, Scenes) to the Animaze Storefront
  • preview created items in different scenarios directly in Animaze Editor. All previews are 1:1 with what’s displayed on every platform: Windows, iOS.
How to Install the Animaze Editor
The Animaze Editor is available on Steam and can be accessed using these steps:

1. Go to Steam > Library

2. At the top of your game list there is a drop-down list (usually, it is set to GAMES)

3. Click on the drop-down list and select TOOLS by ticking the box

4. Scroll through the left side list and click on Animaze Editor, then on Install

5. Launch it as you would launch any Steam title.

If, for some reason, you can't find the Animaze Editor listed in the Tools section, there is a manual solution for that too. Use the Windows run command and type in steam://rungameid/1435710 and just run it (that is the app id for the Animaze Editor).

This method works for running (or installing) any app on Steam if you know its ID, without having to find it in the Steam App browser.
How to Create an Avatar Bundle in Animaze Editor
1. In the Hierarchy Panel to the left, right click on the avatar’s name and choose Bundle.

2. A new window will prompt you to save the changes, if any, made to the avatar prior to bundling it.

3. Select the folder you want to export the bundle in. By default, the system will put it in the Resource directory of the editor, but you can change this at any time. Once you decide, click Select Folder.

a. PRO TIP: Browse for the following path and save the bundled avatar there: Steam\steamapps\common\Animaze\Data\Resources - it is the Resources folder of Animaze, the place where the bundle must be copied in order to upload it into Animaze.

4. The system notifies the progress and the completion of the bundling process. Click OK.
