CMS 2018 Achievement Guide(borderline legitimate)
By predestruction
Welcome fellow Achievement Hunters to my Achievement Guide, walking the Borderline to legitimacy. If you are like me, you don't have 500-2000 Hours of time to do the same task over and over again, although you probably would if there is no other Way. I am here to show you some more or less legit Ways to get all the Achievements in a much more managable 200-250 hours of which about 70 hours are afk farming.

If you found the Guide helpful, and you have some Steam Points to share, it would be great if you give this Guide a Reward or just a thumbs up

Before you start
There are some Achievements you should prepare yourself for. If you start soon enough with them, you won’t have to grind towards them.

Connoisseur

Listen to 100/1.000/10.000 Songs

You can add your Songs to the User Radio and select the Channel in game over the Radio in your Garage.
I advise you to pick any Audio file, convert it to .OGG and cut it to 5-10 seconds. I recommend Audacity as a free Music tool to edit and convert the Song of your Choice. It doesn't matter if you put in 1 or 10 Songs.
Add the files over the following path: "...steamapps\common\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\cms2018_Data\StreamingAssets\Music\User"

Then mute the Music in the Main Menu and listen to Spotify or YouTube while the Song counter is going up.

Picky Worker

Discard 100/500/1.000 orders

You are accepting Orders over your Phone. There you can not only accept but also discard orders. Don't focus on it directly, rather just check your orders from time to time and discard them. You will play long enough to discard easily more than 1.000 so don't rush it too much.

Explorer

Examine 250/1.000/10.000 parts

I suggest starting grinding towards this achievement from level 20 on, when you can examine parts 150% faster with eagle eye level 3 perk. Unfortunatly there is no secret sauce here. Everytime you get a new car by buying or accepting orders, start examing all parts that are easy accessible. This includes the Airfilter and Brackets in the hood, aswell as Spark plug covers and most of the Belt system in the engine.
After examining the engine bay, rise the car and examine the exhaust system and the axles. Play a bit with zoom and camera angles to examine a lot of parts in a short period of time. after a few times you will figure out your own "examine route". Depending on the car and your effort you can examine around 40-60 parts per car without dismanteling a single item.

In the beginning...
i recommend playing this Game normally. Getting through the first 42 or so Story Missions and leveling up at the beginning is actually fun, and there is no way around that. You should get the following Achievements by naturally progressing through the "Story" except for the following one:

Kinda Naked

Drop to 0$

You should do that right at the Start. Go to the Computer and Buy parts that let you drop to 0$ like 50$, 100$ or 500$ Parts. If you are past that point, you can always back up your Save game and then try to loose all your Money by buying Cars and Parts.

With that out of the Way, you can play away and probably receive the following Achievements without Problems, which is why I won't explain them further.

Road Test

Finish run on Test Track

More than enough is too much

Pour to much oil

Dirty Hands

Fix your first car

I can afford that

Spend 10.000$/100.000$/1.000.000$ in shop

Cash only

Collect 10.000$/100.000$/1.000.000$

Alright i am gonna say some quick words here. Only Cash counts. If you have 20.000.000$ worth of cars in your Garage it wont count. You will get enough Money for the Achievement till you reach the last Story Mission. So if collect renovated cars, you will have to sell some of them.

I know how to use it

Unlock tablet

First Blood

Pour old oil on the floor

Regenerator

Fix 100/500/1.000 car parts

Appearance matters

Paint car

No way...

Finish undone order

Just click finish on an order, that you havent completed

Screws on fire

Reach level 3 of unscrewing

Scrap of metal

Buy car from junkyard

More money!

Finish order with money bonus

More experience!

Finish order with experience bonus

Like a boss

Reach level 3 of garage expansion

Gadgeteer

Unlock all the tools

Racer

Visit Racetrack

For sale

Renovate and sell a car

Inside matters

Detail interior of car

Auctioneer

Buy car from auction

Loved

Reach level 3 of discount

Rich guy

Buy new car in car salon

Like new

Repaint a car to factory color

Hammer that body

Fix 100/500/1000 car body parts

American Dream

Fix your first Bolt Hellcat

There are plenty of Hellcats in Barns and at the scrapyard. If you enjoy the game and restore some cars you will probably get this Achievement without Problems.

The Dustman

Buy 3 cars from one barn

There arent many Barns with 3 cars, if you find one then just buy all 3 Cars.

GAME OVER

Finish all the special missions

You get one special mission per level. They are marked blue. So just do them, when they appear. When you are done with all the special missions, focus on the next Chapter.
After finishing the "Storymode"...
you will be left with the following Achievements, of which some will require a huge amount of Grind. I found some neat little tricks and exploits that I am proud of and haven't found in any achievement Guide or Discussion. I am not claiming I invented this tricks, but I am one of the first, who is publicly sharing them to my knowledge.

Vulcanizer

Balance 10/100/1000 Tires

Estimate Grind 6-8 Hours

There is no secret sauce here, unfortunately. I recommend buying tires and rims in stacks of 100 and then combining and balancing them. Restart the Game completely, if the selection process at the Machines is laggy or stuttering. After restarting the game, don't open your inventory. Just work through the 100/200/300 wheel stacks. Otherwise, the stuttering and lag will begin again.

Specialist

Fix 100/750/1500 Cars

Estimate 12-200 hours

So here, only the Contracts from the phone menu count. Restoring old cars doesn't count here.
This Achievement is grindy as hell and you have two options here:
The legit way:
  • Pick the easy Contracts that are part of the following:
  • All Contracts with only the Exhaust Symbol
  • All Contracts with only the Gearbox Symbol
  • Engine Contrats with the description "Change all Filters"
  • Car Body Contrats with "Paint in a new Colour
"

These are fast and easy to do, but you have to be lucky to get them, and even then you still have to do the whole contract. Be prepared to invest about 200 hours in this Achievement alone using this method.

Or you can do it the semilegit way:
  • Repair 5 Cars in your maxed out Garage BUT DONT press on Finish Contract
  • Save the Game and go back to Main Menu
  • Backup your Savegame(C:\Users\User\AppData\LocalLow\Red Dot Games\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\profile0)
  • Create "profile1", "profile2", and "profile3" and copy your Profile0 contents in there
  • Load a Profile, finish the contracts and then switch to the next Profile
  • Load the Backup into your profiles and repeat the previous step
  • Be happy about the Time you saved

You can "fix" 1500 cars in about 10-15 hours this way. We can argue if it's legit or not, but it isn't SAM and you are saving about 150-200 hours. So choose for yourself. You can combine this perfectly with car dealer if you want.

Good old times

Fix 100 old cars

Only contracts count here. If you have at least one old car in the save file mentioned above, you get this Achievement together with Specialist. Otherwise, just fix old cars like Smith 1500, Bolt Hellcat or any other car that has no ABS Parts in it.

Wrench Master

Unscrew 1.000/100.000/500.000 Bolts

Estimate 70-∞ hours

I am not going to unleash my opinion about the Devs here, but be assured it's not a good one.
This Achievement is just stupid. I already stated in the Discussions that you need about 45 In game hours of pure unscrewing to get this Achievement. But since there isn't a 500.000 screw part, even that is not a realistic time frame.
Doing this Achievement legitimately will kill your Brain cells and put you on one mental level with the Developers. So here is what I recommend instead if you have a Keyboard with Marko Functions:

(Wait for Sale)Buy the Dodge DLC and get the Dodge Viper SRT. Dismantle the Engine until you can Dismantle the Intake Manifold. It has 2x 10 Screw Rows. Position your camera and mouse in a way that you can unscrew 10 Bolts without moving your Mouse at all.

If you don't want to spend Money, the Sakura GT20 with its 6 or 8 Screws in one Row is a good alternative to the Dodge Viper, although it will take you even more hours of AFK farming.

Run the following Macro:

This Macro is from my Corsair K100 Keyboard. If you use a different Macro program or keyboard, you are best advised to double-check if it works or if you have to adjust timings:

  • Press left mouse
  • 500 ms
  • Release left mouse
  • 50 ms
  • press left mouse
  • 4400 ms
  • release left mouse
  • 50 ms
  • Press ESC
  • 50 ms
  • Release ESC
  • 100 ms
  • Repeat

This Macro will still take you about 75 Hours to unscrew the 500.000 Bolts. But at least you dont have to do it yourself. Just let it run overnight or while you are cooking, working etc..

Parking boy

Unlock 10 levels of parking

I could afford this after completing all story missions and selling my restored cars, but your experience might be different. If you are short of Money you can restore cars from the Junkyard like the LX500 or the Callope.

Dealer

Sell 25/100/1000 cars

Yet again i have two ways to complete this Achievement for you.

The legit way:
  • Go to Scrapyard
  • Buy all the cars there
  • Repeat until your Parking Lots is full or you are out of Money
  • Bring the cars to the Workshop(you dont have to enter Parking Lot.You can call them by clicking on the car while in the Garage)
  • Clean and weld the car(to increase Value)
  • Sell it for a small profit

Repeat until you sold 1000 cars

The semilegit way:
  • Fill your Parking Lots with Cars from the scrapyard
  • Save the game
  • Make a Backup of your savefiles:(C:\Users\User\AppData\LocalLow\Red Dot Games\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\profile0)
  • Sell all your cars and then load Backup

Repeat until you sold 1000 cars
Can be done with Specialist Achievement together

Racer Boy

Finish lap with time under 1 minute

You can search yourself a nice car, tune it with quality parts, tune your gearbox by some online guide, equip some nice Slicks, and try to get git gut at the racetrack OR you download following Workshop Map and just drive in a circle with almost any car and no tuning required:

In the end...
i want to wish you all good luck with hunting the Achievements and to let me know if something in this Guide is unclear, wrong or not working as i described. i hope this Guide has helped you and i would be happy about a thumbs up.

For "American Dream" you have to complete an order with the Bolt Hellcat, i figured this out after buying and repairing multiple of them and not getting the achievement. I finally found the Hellcat order and got the achievement.

There is no Video because at the time of writing i came up with that method myself and didnt bother to record it, because its pretty basic.

Do you have a Corsair Keyboard, because i dont think this software works for other Keyboard Brands.

If you are in the Dasboard, click on your Keyboard and select "Key Assignement". Thats the first Point in my Menu. Then in the bottom left there is a little Assignment Window with a big yellow bar with + Symbol.

You click on it, then under Assignmenttype you search for Makro. Under General you enable "Mouse Clicks" and then under recording you can press the Red Ball and record the Makro i described above.
After that you can manually adjust the timings by clicking on them.

Lastly you have to assign a Key and in advanced set the Assignmenttrigger on "Toggle" and Assignment Repeat on "Repeat"

I have been trying to get this macro set up for iCUE with no immediate results. Is there any specific video floating around on how to get this running for Wrench Master or can you even just go a bit more in depth on how to set up iCUE correctly? I have seen that there are plenty of videos out there on how to use iCUE and how to make macros but I am kinda dumb and can't put all the pieces together. Any help would be appreciated lol

-Parts Examine will counts even if you already examined. In other words, you can examine same parts over and over again.
(Still you need 10000 times to unlock this damn Achievement though...)

-"Kinda Naked" Achievements needs little bit note, you can't get this Achievement if you gone below $0 (So you must need to become exact $0).
