1. Quests come in two types: plus quests and "fixed number" quests. Plus quests typically expect you to expand your largest group, so if you're going to build around a large group, make sure you close it first. Otherwise requirements will expect you to expand that large group.
2. Quest rewards. They're absolutely mandatory in the long run. Perfect placements give 1 tile back for every all-side-perfect placement, which means you always need extra tiles for the edges of the map.
3. Quests of the same type can be combined! If, for example, you combine 3+ quests for forests, you can complete them all with same tiles! So combine quests whenever possible.
4. Failing quests. Sometimes it's the only way to get a different quest, but don't make it a habit, quests are not very frequent.
Get uber lucky.
That's all that you need and all you can do to get to 100k (prove me wrong and stream reaching 100k score in five games in a row, out of 5 games).
