Introduction
Self esteem booster
Remember to give it a thumbs up and favorite if it helped you, I need that stuff for self validation :)

Save Slots
Use them. That's it... this section's only purpose is the first -and last- friendly reminder that you have like 20 Save Slots to use as backup.

Also, do try to prioritize the missables over anything else, this will save you headaches having to reload any of the aforementioned backups :)

Bestiary
Actually open it... No, really
Turns out the Bestiary in the Pixel Remasters is not only an awesome compendium, but actually it basically works as a Pokedex too. It is actually so good that there is no reason for the wiki link [finalfantasy.fandom.com] to be here anymore lol

Do note I am talking about the bestiary that can be accessed from the main menu when opening the game and NOT the in-game bestiary.

Display Map
This is the one feature that makes research obsolete, long story short just chase ? marks if you are planning to complete the Bestiary.
  • World Monsters: These will show up as a big ? mark, if you go to the location where the mark is you will find a missing entry.
  • Dungeon Monsters: While a little less precise, it will still show how many entries are in the dungeon and a ? mark for those missing so you know if you have completed it or need to keep running around.
Sidenote: Yes, I figured this out right before completing the Bestiary in FFIV and did not take any screenshots of the ? marks, use your imagination.
World of Balance
This is where you start the game, for simplicity's sake I am using this section to explain Party member related information, mainly in regards to their "Commands" since they have achievements tied to them.

Each party member in this game has their own special Command, such as Locke's Steal, however the method in which some of them are acquired changes from member to member, this guide will be covering their earliest acquisition in its respective section with the label "Command (NAME)".

Hover over the spoiler tag below to reveal the table.

Character
Command
Acquisition
Edgar
Tools
Mainly purchased and found, alternatively they some can be stolen or dropped by monsters.
Sabin
Blitz
Leveling up, the final Blitz is obtained at level 70 but you can get this one on an area later in the game too.
Cyan
Bushido
Leveling up, the final Bushido is obtained at level 70, or you can complete the Dreamscape to master them all.
Gau
Leap/Rage
Use Gau's Leap command in Veldt, this will end the battle and make Gau leave your party to then return randomly after more battles in Veldt having learned new Rages for all monsters fought from the moment you initiated the Leap

Gau will not return if you have 4 party members or the battle is "special" (Such as when you are surrounded).

Lastly, for some monsters to appear in Veldt for Gau to learn from them, we need to find them at least once elsewhere as they will become missable later. Refer to the label "Bestiary (Veldt)" on this guide's sections for their information.
Strago
Lore
This is your normal Blue Mage ability with a fancy name, this time around Strago only needs to see the ability to learn it (as opposed to getting hit by it like in other FF games), this includes monsters casting it, Gau's Rage and Gogo's Sketch.

Strago will not learn anything if he is in most irregular status effects, such as Zombie, Darkness, Berserk, Stop or really anything that will not let him "see" properly.
Mog
Dance
Fight in different biomes with Mog in your party to learn different dances.
Overworld
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
004 - Wererat: Anywhere inside Narshe Mines.

  • Item: Grab the Main Gauche in this area.
In theory it can be stolen later as well from Lesser Lopros, but this is just easier.
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
020 - Ciripius: Random encounter on Mt. Kolts.
  • Dialogue: After defeating Vargas head back to South Figaro and talk to Duncan's wife in her house. If you advance to the Returner Hideout you miss the chance to see it.
Thanks to @Wildrune for catching this one.
Returner Hideout
We have a choice between two items now.
  • Item: Say yes to Banon and he will give you a Gauntlet.
    Originally posted by tw1tch420:

  • Item: Say no to Banon three times to get your Genji Glove.
Note: Some people say you need to say Yes at least once, however I still got the item without saying Yes even once.

South Figaro Cave (Locke's Scenario)
  • Bestiary (Veldt): These only appear during this second visit to this area.
    027 - Cartagra
    028 - Acrophies
    029 - Gold Bear
Narshe Mines (Terra's Scenario)
Accessible during Terra, Edgar and Banon's path.
  • Bestiary (Veldt): On Passage after you re-enter the cave but before the section where you follow the lights.
    030 - Valeor
    031 - Wild Rat
  • Bestiary (Veldt): Take the wrong path when following the light during your revisit to this area, then interact with any of the blue lights.
These three can only be found during Terra's scenario.
    ### - Eukaryote
    ### - Specter
    ### - Darkside
  • Extra: One of the chests in this area contains a Rune Edge (west of the Moogle Nest), if you skip it completely until much, much later in the game it will turn into a Ribbon. Personally I would get too stressed about this item not being picked up for so long but you do you, I'll remind you much, much later.
Cabin (Sabin's Scenario)
  • Party: Shadow can join you for a while if you talk to him.
  • Dialogue: Talk to the foreshadowing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inside the cabin and then interact with the furnace.
  • Bestiary (Veldt): Overworld between the Cabin and the Imperial Camp.
    032 - Stray Cat
    033 - Aepyornis
    034 - Nettlehopper
Imperial Camp (Sabin's Scenario).
This is a one time area.
  • Bestiary (Veldt): On the first tent to the right of where you start go past the Doberman and select "Kick it" when interacting with the chest to trigger this fight.
    ### - Doberman.

For the fourth chest you will need to "jump" behind the tent that has the two chests.
  • Bestiary: Be sure to get all entries below before leaving.
    037 - Imperial Soldier.
    038 - Templar.
    039 - Satellite: Monster in a box.
    266 - Magitek Armor.
Phantom Forest (Sabin's Scenario)
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
    041 - Poplium
Phantom Train (Sabin's Scenario)

The first item is on the wagon to the right of the starting area, be sure to grab it before you detach the wagons.

    045 - Bomb.
    046 - Living Dead.
    047 - Apparition: Monster in a box.
048 - Siegfried: Found after interacting with a chest in one of the rooms of the wagons.
271 - Phantom Train: Mandatory boss fight.
  • Meme: Use Meteor Strike on the Phantom Train boss fight for the sake of watching a moment so important to this game that the Pixel Remaster had to patch it back in with an update because some sinner had "fixed" it.
Veldt (Sabin's Scenario)
How does it work?
Veldt is an unusual area where the monsters you will find are monsters you have encountered before elsewhere, this is can allow you to battle again with monsters from one time areas, and also will allow for Gau to learn more Rage commands by using Leap.

You will know you are in Veldt once you reach a large plain area south of Baren Falls in which Mobliz and Crescent Mountain can be found.

Gau
Gau is an optional party member, to recruit him go to Mobliz and purchase Dried Meat, then feed it to the homeless kid instead of attacking him when he shows up at the end of a random encounter in Veldt.

You can read more on how to expand Gau's commands on the "World of Balance" section at the beginning of this guide.

Missable Monsters
As you may have imagined, monsters from one time areas that you never fought will not show up in Veldt. This list is later expanded even further when we go to the World of Ruin.

For the most part you should be safe if you have not been avoiding encounters and have been diligent on the one time areas we have reached so far or have been following the "Monster (Veldt)" tag on various sections of this guide.

Here is a list of monsters you have met so far that are missable due to various reasons:

    24 - Heavy Armor
This is your last chance to get this one.

Zozo
  • Command (Tool): Inside the Inn there is a clock we need to solve for the sake of getting some goodies, you have two options to solve it, regardless once you do get Chainsaw from inside the chest.
    1. Walk around talking to all NPCs and write down their answers, figure out all of them are lying so whichever time was NOT said by anyone is the correct one.
    2. Cheat and input 6:10:50 :)
  • Magicite: After some cutscenes you will have the chance to pick up Ramuh, Kirin, Siren and Caith Sith's Magicites.
    Yes, these are technically missable.
Opera House

    066 - Stunner
    067 - Goetia

068 - Litwor Chicken: In the forest around Vector, Northwest of Albrook.
    069 - Joker
    070 - Don
    071 - Wyvern
072 - Grasswyrm: In the grass around Vector, Northwest of Albrook.
076 - Sergeant: Interact with any soldier inside Vector.
077 - Belzecue: Interact with any soldier inside Vector.
Note: We can get 076 and 077 inside the Magitek Factory.
Magitek Factory
This is a one time area.
  • Chest: You should be able to grab all 12 chests before finding Kefka for the first time.
  • Bestiary: All of these can be found before finding Kefka for the first time.
    075 - Onion Knight
076 - Sergeant: Also needed for Gau's Rages in Veldt.
077 - Belzecue: Also needed for Gau's Rages in Veldt.
    078 - Proto Armor
  • Esper: After defeating Ifrit and Shiva be sure to pick their Magicites, no, really.
  • Bestiary:
079 - Trapper: On the room with the stairs behind Shiva.
Note: We will use Rage/Sketch later to have Strago learn the Lore Lv3 Confuse. That or find this thing in Veldt.
080 - Flan: In the small room where you just fought Ifrit and Shiva.
Also needed for Gau's Rages in Veldt.
081 - General: On the room with the stairs behind Shiva.
Note: Yes, the Bestiary bundles these all as part of Vector for some reason.
Magitek Research Facility
This is a one time area.
  • Chest: Make sure to grab the one chest in this area.
  • Bestiary: Entries below can be found on the starting room with the large tubes.
    082 - Destroyer
    083 - Lenergia
  • Esper: None is really missable, but we are covering Espers anyway due to the achievement so...
Unicorn, Maduin, Catoblepas, Phatom, Carbuncle, Bismarck.
  • Bestiary: After you get the espers an escape sequence will begin, make sure you get the entries below:
084 - Magna Roader: The Purple one.
085 - Magna Roader: The Red one. Also needed for Gau's Rages in Veldt.
According to the Wiki this one will not show up if Locke, Edgar or Gau are in the lead, while it may no longer be true in the PR version you can just put Sabin in front before entering the cart for Paranoia's sake.
  • Bestiary: After the boss fight you will be back in Vector, trigger a fight with the entry below before leaving:
    086 - Chaser
Note: Yes, the Bestiary bundles these all as part of Vector for some reason.
Also entries 092 and 093 will be obtained later.
Overworld - Airship
Now that we have the Airship we can do a couple of things.

Overworld
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
073 - Grenade: Go to the forest south of the Phantom Forest and West of Veldt.
097 - Intangir: On Triangle Island at the Northeast of the world, you may wanna come for this one when you are much stronger.

Narshe
  • Party Member: Go back to Narshe and visit the house east of the inn, you will see a Wolf thief, give him chase through Narshe Mines all the way to the top of Narshe Cliffs, here you will see the Wolf now has a Moogle hostage, the bastard. Anyway stand still a couple of seconds, after which you will have to choose who to save:
    Mog: New party member.
Wolf: You get a Gold Hairpin.

Mog Dances
Mog can learn different dances by fighting in different terrains, below are some easy options to find all eight dances.
  • Wind Rhapsody: Plains such as Veldt.
  • Forest Nocturne: Forests such as south where we just fought Grenade.
  • Desert Lullaby: Deserts such as outside Figaro Castle.
  • Love Serenade: Towns such as Zozo.
  • Earth Blues: Mountains such as Mt. Kolts.
  • Water Harmony: Rivers such as Lethe River or Serpent Trench.
  • Twilight Requiem: Caves such as South Figaro Cave.
  • Snowman Rondo: Snow areas such as Narshe Cliffs.
This one we will get later as no fights are happening in Narshe Cliffs at the moment.

Mobliz
  • Quest: There is a small questline with a bed ridden soldier in the house located in the Northwest corner of the town, this will involve:
    1. Getting a letter from the soldier.
    2. Going to the house to the right (with a bird outside) and paying 500 Gil to deliver the letter.
    3. Interacting with a merchant / sleeping at the inn / coming back later
    4. Getting a new letter at the soldier's house.
    5. Repeat the process 5 times for a total of 2,500 Gil

Jidoor
  • Esper: Participate in the Auction House and bid for the magicites. 10,000 Gil for Zona Seeker and 20,000 Gil for Golem.
If they are auctioning a different item you can simply not bid anything and re-enter the Auction House, as per the wiki the chances are as follows:
    1. Angel Wings (10,000 gil): 50%
    2. Real, Talking Chocobo (Cannot be bought): 25%
    3. Golem Magicite (20,000 gil, Unique): 12.5%
    4. Zona Seeker magicite (10,000 gil, Unique): 6.25%
    5. Angel Ring (20,000 Gil): 6.25%

Tzen
  • Esper: On the Northeast corner of the town there will be a dude "hidden" behind the trees, pay 3000 Gil to receive Seraph.
Alternatively you can wait until World of Ruin to even less if you are stingy, but I wouldn't do that.
Cave of the Sealed Gate
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
088 - Provoker: Found on the first floor, where you just entered from.
    090 - Antares
091 - Lich: Found on the first floor, where you just entered from.
  • Item: Collect the Ultima Weapon from a chest inside the "secret" room that you reveal by standing over the switch.
Vector - Imperial Palace
  • Event: Quick save as soon as you are given a timer, go around speaking to every soldier and opening every chest, after dinner you will get rewards based on how many soldiers you spoke to.
As a reward you will get various world-building events to happen, plus a Tintinnabulum and a Ward Bangle for the max score.
  • Bestiary:
093 - Mega Armor: Some of the NPCs of the event above will start a fight with you for this entry.
  • Event: During dinner you have to choose the best dialogue options, more or less they match with your typical Lawful Good alignment.
    1. To our homelands.
    2. Leave him in jail.
    3. That was inexcusable.
    4. Celes is one of us!
    5. Ask each question ONCE. Start with "Why did you start the war?".
    6. Why did you start the war?
    7. Take a break.
    8. Talk and beat the NPC next to Emperor Gestahl under two minutes.
    9. That your war is truly over.
    10. Yes
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
092 - Imperial Elite: During dinner accept to take a break and talk to any NPC sitting next to Emperor Gestahl.
  • Extra: The monsters fought during both Events should complete the Bestiary of Vector that we left incomplete since our visit to the Magitek Factory and Magitek Research Facility.
  • Extra: There is a scene between Cid, Terra and Setzer at the Blackjack soon after the banquet at Vector, but before going to Thamasa.
Burning Home
This is a one time area.
  • Chest: Make sure to grab the two of them by going through the right door first at every door branch.
Overworld
  • Bestiary (Veldt): Fight these monsters between Thamasa and the Esper Cave.
    094 - Briareus
    095 - Devourer
    096 - Chimera
Esper Cave
  • Bestiary (Veldt): Take the right path on the first floor of the cave, the entries below can be found on the open grassy area between caves.
    100 - Land Grillion
    102 - Mandrake
    103 - Venobennu
World of Balance - Completion
Last Chance
After the events in the Floating Continent we will no longer be able to return to the World of Balance, as such we will permanently miss anything we left incomplete.

Luckily we have completed most relevant optional stuff available during the "Overworld - Airship" section of this guide, refer back to that section and make sure you have done everything, there is a high chance you left the Intangir bestiary/veldt entry for later.

When you are done and ready to continue just go inside your Airship and choose "Head to the Floating Continent"

Shadow
Resting in most inns with Shadow in party, Balance or Ruin, has a 50% chance of playing one of his dreams about his past. Of these there are four in total. A fifth dream is played when you encounter Shadow in the World of Ruin.

Command (Lore)
Theoretically this is much easier to do later in the World of Ruin from a monster called Dark Force which has all spells except Mighty Guard, Force Field, Transfusion, and Grand Delta. Alternatively you can run around in Veldt for a while since that place is a monster orgy.

Below is a list containing monsters which we can learn those available in the World of Balance.

Command (Rage)
Do not worry, Veldt will still be accessible in the World of Ruin. Regardless you may wanna get some skills before continuing if you intend to use Gau in the near future.

Gear
Theoretically none of the things below matter unless you care about having every gear piece in the game, sadly it is not my job to decide what is relevant or not so here we are.
  • Item: Make sure you bought the following gear from shops across the world:
Bastard Sword, Kodachi, Sakura, Kotetsu, Kiku-ichimonji, Morning Star, Hawkeye, Boomerang.
    Mythril Claws. Magus Hat, Tiara.
Twist Headband: Technically this one can be stolen from Iron Fists and dropped by Dadaluma as well but screw that.

Bestiary
These add up to 128, you should have most of them just between the missable and Veldt related entries, be sure to complete any leftovers by using the in-game Bestiary to find any ? you have.
  • 001 - 103
  • 112
  • 263 - 286

World
Unlike FFV this time around some of our locations are incomplete before changing worlds, you should have a total of 36 locations on your list (plus the one time areas as grayed out dots on the map) and every location should have all Chests and Items except the following:
Location
Chests
Items
Figaro Castle
04/09
00/01
Narshe Mines
03/03
00/01
Do note you may have 1 less chest if you decided to skip the Rune Edge back at Narshe in favor of it turning into a Ribbon in the World of Ruin.

Regarding the Chocobo Stables you can find Four so far:
  • Southwest of Figaro Castle.
  • Northwest of Dragon's Neck Cabin.
  • East of Tzen.
  • Southeat of Maranda.

Lastly, your map should look more or less like the one below.
Floating Continent
This is a one time area.
  • Bestiary (Veldt): During the trip to the Floating Continent you will meet these entries:
    104 - Sky Armor
    105 - Spitfire
    112 - Ninja *
    Originally posted by Calaung:

  • Bestiary:
292 - Bit: During the boss fight against Air Force kill Laser Gun first and then wait for it to summon Bit.
  • Chests: Once you land in the Floating Continent, make sure to get three chests before your boss fight with Ultima Weapon. We will get the fourth chest soon enough.
  • Bestiary: Make sure to fight all monsters in this location.
    106 - Brainpan
    107 - Misfit
    108 - Apocrypha
109 - Dragon: Rare encounter, also needed for Veldt.
    110 - Platinum Dragon
    111 - Behemoth
  • Chest: During the escape sequence when you are about to reach the end there will be stairs going down, and to the right another set of stairs which lead to the item. Make a Quick Save if needed.
Instead of turning right, go down the first set of stairs and then go all the way south, then east, then north and up the second set of stairs to grab the item.
  • Party: After the boss fight with Nelapa, during your escape make sure to wait until 0:05 for Shadow to return, otherwise Shadow is gone forever.
If you approach the Airship make sure to choose "Wait".
Note: A sixth dream can only be viewed if Shadow is left to die on the Floating Continent.
  • Bestiary: Make sure to fight the monster below during the escape sequence.
    113 - Naude
If you approach the Airship make sure to choose "Wait".
Solitary Island
  • NPC: As soon as you gain control of Celes Quick Save. Now, if you want to save Cid head out of the house, then south to arrive at the shore, grab the fastest moving fish there and feed it to Cid, rinse and repeat until Cid says "I'm all better now! Thank you, Celes!".

If upon reaching the shore there are fish missing go back and talk to Cid to refresh their spawn.

    Originally posted by Aethelia :

If trying to save Cid anyway... if not, getting the bottom two fish is best, with the slow one on the bottom right making it happen the fastest.

Extra: Saving Cid matters about as much as saving the animals in Metroid 2, fans prefer to let Cid die for the sake of the narrative though, do with that information what you will.
Tzen - Crumbling House
Upon entering Tzen for the first time you will trigger an event which allows you to go inside the Crumbling House.
This is a one time area.
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
    123 - Zokka
    124 - Nightwalker
    125 - Scorpion
  • Chests: Make sure to grab all eight chests.
Figaro Castle
  • Command (Tools): Purchase Debilitator from the NPC.
Overworld - Airship
Once we get the new Airship at Darill's Tomb we can approach any area we want, the only thing stopping you being monsters too strong for you :)

Anyway, from this point onwards there are a number of things we can do, I would recommend you go around recruiting party members and refer to the specific sections below this one for the missable stuff.

Reunite your crew
Your entire party is spread across the different sections of the world.
Do note the table includes the last two optional party members we have not met too.

Command (Dance)
Snowman Rondo is almost impossible to miss since you need to take Mog with you through Narshe Cliffs to recruit Umaro anyways.

Owzer's Mansion
  • Bestiary (Veldt)
157 - Rafflesia: Interact with the painting of the pink flowers.
Dreamscape
To enter the Dreamscape take Cyan with you and sleep in the beds of Doma Castle, your 4th party member will be who you start the area as (excluding Cyan).

Pro Tip you may wanna consider:

Dreamscape
This is a one time area.
  • Bestiary: Be sure to get all entries below before leaving.
    208 - Weredragon
    211 - Alluring Rider
    212 - Pandora

311 - Laragorn: Boss, this one can flee if you leave it last.
    312 - Moebius: Boss.

Dreamscape - Phantom Train
This is a one time area.
  • Chest: Grab all 5 chests.
  • Bestiary: Be sure to get all entries below before leaving.
    205 - Samurai
206 - Al Jabr: Also needed for Veldt.

Dreamscape - Doma Castle
This is a one time area.
  • Chest: You should have all items here, these are the Doma Castle items.
  • Bestiary: Be sure to get all entries below before leaving.
    205 - Samurai
206 - Al Jabr: Also needed for Veldt.
    207 - Suriander
    212 - Pandora
    213 - Parasite
    214 - Coco
    313 - Wrexsoul: Boss.
Thamasa
Take Relm and Strago to Thamasa to open the path to Ebot's Rock, a dungeon on the small island to the north of Thamasa.
  • Command (Lore): During your fight with 319 - Hidon make sure to kill all four of 320 - Erebus for Hidon to cast Grand Delta.
Technically not missable since Hidon has a mega low spawn rate if you wanna hang out here for the next 400 hours.
World of Ruin - Completion
After you get all party members, most of the espers and dragons you will be on the final stretch, so make sure to get everything done before heading for Kefka's Tower.

Character development
Take specific characters to specific locations to advance their arcs!

Shadow
Any town
Any Inn has a chance of triggering 4 different dreams with more of Shadow's backstory.
You will know you are done when Interceptor shows up in the fourth dream.

Can be found Northeast of Narshe right below some mountains on a "+" shaped group of trees, refer to the screenshot below on this section's World title for the dot location.
Gau & Sabin
Cabin
On the contintent Northweast of Veldt.
Relm & Strago
Thamasa
This will open an optional dungeon called Ebot's Rock.

Megaelixir
Take the Megaelixir you got from the fight against 317 - Magic Master from Cultists' Tower and bet it on the Coliseum. This will also give you the Bestiary Entry for 238 - Siegfried.

Also, win 10 fights while you are here for an achievement.

Note: If you wasted that Megaelixir you are going to either need to steal another one from 119 - Land Ray or wait until you get the one in Kefka's Tower.

Paladin Shield
Take Locke with you to Narshe and interact with the bedridden man to receive the Cursed Shield.
In order to turn it into the Paladin Shield we need to finish 250 battles with it equipped.

You can get this done easily by equipping Ribbon and Lich Ring, then heading to Solitary Island to have the monsters self destruct on the first turn.

Bestiary
These add up to 302.
  • 001 - 238
  • 263 - 322
  • 324 - 326
  • 328

Command (Rage)
Go get as many Rages as you want in Veldt now that we have as much of the bestiary as humanly possible.

You need 50 for the achievement.

Command (Lore)
Get all blue spells however you prefer, I would recommend to wait until Kefka's Tower to get them from Dark Force which has all spells except Mighty Guard, Force Field, Transfusion, and Grand Delta.

World
You should have a total of 35 locations on your list (plus the one time areas as grayed out dots on the map) and every location should have all Chests and Items except the following:
  • Kefka's Tower
If you were patient about the Rune Edge chest in Narshe it is now a Ribbon, congratulations.

Regarding the Chocobo Stables you can find three so far:
  • Southwest of Phoenix Cave
  • South of Mobliz
  • Southeast of Coliseum
Lastly, your map should look more or less like the one below.

Achievements
There should not be that many achievements you have not obtained at this point, however let's mention explicitly the ones you MAY be missing even if I hardly think you would.
  • Master Gambler: You need to get the good version of "Joker's Death" with the "Slot" command.
Probably the one achievement on this small list that's most important to mention since it requires using a specific party member and his command again and again until the desired outcome pops. Save beforehand since you can get a bad outcome on the slots.

third slot: you want to pause on the airship with Bahamut above it and the 7 not visible, there is some RNG involved where the game will force either a bahamut or a diamand instead of the 7, keep trying until you get your third 7

    video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfmLxxKWKHw

A good enemy to do it against are the tumbleweed next to the dinosaur forest, the biggest advantage with that method is that if you miss the third slot you get mysidian rabbit which doesn't kill the enemies
  • Seasoned Hero: Reach level 50 with all party members.
If not clear by now this game requires to use all party members at some point or other so you may struggle during the final dungeon if this is not achieved.
  • Legendary Warrior: Kill 2,000 monsters.
Should have popped a long time ago as long as you are not fleeing encounters.
  • Moneybags: Obtain 500,000 gil.
    Same as Legendary Warrior above.
  • Legendary Treasure Hunter: Collected 100% of the chests.
This guide explicitly mentions missable items so you may only be missing this achievement if you neglected the "non one-time" areas during the "Completion" sections of this guide.
  • Item Detector: Obtained all hidden items.
    Same as Treasure Hunter above.

Kefka's Tower
  • Extra: This line is here for the random person that doesn't read all bullet points on each section before advancing the section in-game... Send Strago as part of Party 3 and keep in mind the following:
    Originally posted by The Maddeath:

  • Bestiary:
323 - Gold Dragon: Interact with it on your path to complete this area as Party 2.
327 - Skull Dragon: Interact with it on your path to complete this area as Party 3.
  • Esper: Upon finishing up the last dragon you will automatically receive Crusader.
  • Command (Lore): Get any and all missing blue mage spells from Dark Force as Party 3 in the room after you fight the Skull Dragon.
  • Command (Lore): Fiend will spam Force Field below 50% HP, make sure you brought Strago as Party 3 to learn this lore.

Thank You
Hope this guide helped, now go play any other Final Fantasy game.

How do I know if I've found the "###" encounters? They don't seem to be in the PR bestiary.
Abyss  [author] 11 Jul @ 10:52am
@Akai thanks for all your tips!
The S+E rest: This is mentioned in WoB so it won't be added to WoR since assuming people is not following the guide beats the whole point.

The coin flip: I'd prefer if its confirmed to exist in the PR or if it was fixed.

Gau's scene: This is at the Cabin on "World of Ruin - Completion" right? If so by then we already recruited all characters so we are safe.

Dreamscape: Added.

Seraph: Mentioned it on WoB's entry.

@tw1tch420 Added.

@Cauvin Fixed. If it makes you feel any better they were only a few hours of the only life you'll ever have. :)

Thanks again to all for your feedback and comments!

You have bestiary entry 112 as Heavy Armor but it's actually Ninja. This cost me a couple of hours of time lol 😅😂
tw1tch420 11 Jun @ 9:54am
If you want a "perfect inventory," you have to get the gauntlet from Banon at the Returner's hideout. Turns out you can farm genji glove later but there are only 3 gauntlets in the game.
Akai 9 Jun @ 5:00am
The Sabin + Edgar scene by resting at Figaro Castle can be seen in the World of Ruin before getting the Falcon.

Before the coin flip scene on the Blackjack after the events at the Opera House, if Sabin is in the party, Celes will fail to blush. You can still bring Edgar to get Celes to borrow the coin, though Sabin will never be aware he was duped to abandon the throne. I don't know if this was fixed in the PR edition.

In the WoR, when Sabin gets Gau to meet his dad, there are variations depending on who has NOT been recruited. Get all main party members before triggering this to see them all.

Bring Terra to Cyan's Dreamscape side quest. She can still use advanced Magitek Armor abilities.

If you wait until the WoR, you can buy the Seraph magicite for much cheaper (like 10 gil). It's not worth waiting.

@iBazly added to "Narshe Cliffs" section. thanks
iBazly 3 Jun @ 2:15pm
@Abyss yeah so they're in South Figaro DURING Locke's scenario, but ONLY then - it's the big magitek armor that is likely to kill you if you try to fight it alone as Locke. then during the battle for narshe. so both of those instances are missable, then as far as I can tell in the GBA and 2014 versions it's in the Soul Shrine but that isn't in the Pixel Remaster :)
Abyss  [author] 3 Jun @ 1:25pm
@iBazly I'm finding a few sources saying you can find it in both South Figaro and Narshe Cliffs, regardless it may be a good idea to add a warning based on your feedback but to be honest its been a while for me so I can't remember the game perfectly. In which section of this guide do you think this should go?
iBazly 25 May @ 3:05pm
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I noticed your guide doesn't mention Heavy Armor at all? I'm currently playing the GBA version and can fortunately get it in the Soul Shrine at the end, but as far as I can tell in other versions the only times to get Heavy Armor in the bestiary would be Locke's Scenario and The Battle of Narshe, no? So they would be missable too? Or do they show up somewhere else I'm not seeing?
Abyss  [author] 18 Mar @ 9:01am
@Tempest for a sec there I had a heart attack seeing I made so many mistakes lol.

Glad my guides have helped, and thanks a lot for taking your time to document all of this!

But, no failures on your end, I THINK at some point early on I also warned about bestiary number differences either on this guide or other FF game precisely cause it can get confusing.
