Late, but better than never. Here is how you can celebrate the remainder of Next Fest 2022.

To get +1 added to your badge, you must start a participating demo. This is possible to accomplish
to a very high degree because Steam adds the demo’s license to your account when you click “Install Demo,” which can be treated as a hyperlink of sorts. This is all because demos have their own licenses.

If you are ever directed to a game’s store page upon activating a hyperlink to start a game through Steam API—which in turn adds the license to your account and library—you have likely activated 50 licenses in the past hour. You will have to wait 1 hour to continue activating licenses.

Yes, because you have added a license to your account, you will be able to see it in your library! Thus, you will be able to add these Next Fest demos to your Steam Library—some of which will be in VR—and increase your badge count in conjunction.
Download
—Download using the big orange "DOWNLOAD" button on GitHub and follow the video's instructions. Clicking the Mass Idler will cycle through the valid demos. You can tell if a demo is participating if there is a banner above the page contents under the categories tab. Sometimes games will have their own banners instead of the Next Fest ones but will still be participating.

This is what it looks like.

Download an appid database found in the discussions tab of this GitHub project page. The 983 text file seems to be the most promising. All of these seem to register. Following that ranks the HUGEDemoList.txt text file which all yield +1.

For me, it scanned which licenses are on the account from 1-983 upon the first boot and both activated their licenses and started the each game in intervals of 1 second upon the second boot. The progress is saved through text documents in the folder the .exe is contained in. To guarantee you break 1000, use HUGEDemoList.txt file. After it “knows” what isn’t activated, you can hit “Y” for yes upon the first boot and copy the commands separately into Steam’s console. Hit enter and it will “play” 50 games. Go invisible so you don’t spam your frens.

You are able to remove demos from your recently played games after your badge gets +1 added to it.

Multiple Accounts
To use this automation with multiple accounts, create separate folders and label them. Paste the root contents of the IdleMaster folder you downloaded in each one and place the 983 app ids text document in each one. Log into different accounts to manage your progress with each folder.

There is a maximum of 50 license activations per hour per account, so this will take time. In my experience, the initial introduction and the scanning of the 983 appids file took quite a minute. You can use this time to clean your room.

And then I discovered that the HUGEDemoList.txt file has MORE licenses, and I should have been doing that. Do that.

Use the HugeDemoList Demo List Demolist DemoList.

As of tending to this guide, the highest number on a badge: 1053. That takes around 22-24 hours depending on your finesse. Godspeed.
