Another buggy Steam game installer.
This time the installer pretends to apply an old Windows Installer 3.1 update, KB893803-v2-x86 patch every time you launch the game... but here is the solution for Windows 10+:

Open Registry at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\Apps\21010"
Change/add (if not present) value: "WinInstaller" (DWORD) = 1

Alternative method
Save this text in a file named "WatchmenTEIN.reg" on your desktop:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\Apps\21010] "WinInstaller"=dword:00000001

Run it by double-clicking on it, and confirm merge in your registry.

Fixed. Steam will stop trying to install this useless old patch on Windows 10+ x64.

This game requires PhysX Legacy to be installed. You'll find latest (ignore the old one in "Watchmen\prerequisites") here:
