Speed Running for Achievements
By Viku19
After playing the game, i wanted to get all the achievements and since it's kinda lengthy, i figured posting some short cuts i created would help those who want to 100% this game as well!

Intro
This is a speed run/walkthrough guide is to help those who want to get all the endings but don’t want to spend 4+ hours in doing so with each run. These strats have helped me cut some time out with each play through I’ve done, no matter the ending i went after, and I wanted to share them to make collecting the achievements less daunting. There’s also spoilers so if you don’t want to have the game spoiled, please ignore this and do play the game first with no guide! It has a lot of charm so do take the time to appreciate it.

If you do want to go for all/specific achievements, this guide Is really helpful! In your second play through, you can both get a new ending (whichever one you’re going after) as majority of the achievements with this! 😊 (or go after ending 4 as it’s pretty short, either way it’s rewarding!). This also isn’t including the Document collection as that’s more of an easter egg rather than a priority to the story.

Considering trying to get all the endings requires tons of time, some general tips that have sped up the process is:
  • 1. Name your buddy a single letter- it’s less to type out in certain points of the game. This can also be applied to the “move” your buddy wants you to name in the tutorial section

  • 2. The space bar is your friend in all sections of the game! Though I do recommend keeping a close eye on it (ESPECIALLY if you’re going after the perfect ending) as you don’t want to miss a buddy prompt

  • 3. You don’t need to type in “yes” or “no” in full. You can simply use “y” or “n” to respond to your buddy

  • 4. Most sections of the game where the game asks you to type something (compliments to your party members/the hero speech in friendville) are not strict so you can type a single word, or a letter and it will give you the same prompt afterwards as if you had wrote a novella. I would suggest not complimenting your party member's though as dying is quicker

  • 5. Capital letters don’t matter with responding prompts (such as yes or no of the title of your game). You can even get away with using the action command with no conjunction command except for "in" (for example, instead of saying, “go to playground”, you can simply say, “go playground”

  • 6. Unless you’re going for the genocide ending, don’t interact with unnecessary glitches. They take a lot of time out of your run
Text Based Area
With the general tips listed above, you can complete this section in less than 5 minutes. Some general tips that have helped me with the games (besides reflexes) are:
  • 1. The Guessing # Game- I believe this section is RNG but for some reason every other time I’ve done a playthrough, 7 (between 1-10) and 10 (between 1-15) have worked for me in getting it right away. Also, for the last one (1-10,000)- it’s always your birthday so choose something easy! I chose January 1 so I could quickly type 11 into the module.

  • 2. Hangman Game- This one is also the same. Just input the letters of your name as well as “is my friend”. If your fast enough- this won’t take you more than a minute.

  • 3. Rock, Paper, Scissors- For this section, I just kept on typing in Rock until the AI lets you win. It’s a shorter word which makes running through it easier
This was my time after the first 3 games :)

The Adventure of “___!”

Supposing you don’t change your name, unless you want to, the minute the AI closes your game and you are loaded in, immediately in the module you can input, “The adventure of y/n”. It’ll immediately prompt the story. To get through this section quickly you should:
  • 1. Go left and pick up the lantern (as you don’t need the shovel for these runs so going right is pointless)

  • 2. Go right to enter the house area

  • 3. “Use” everything in the playground section first

  • 4. Go to the shed, gather all that you need in there as well as everything in the trapdoor section then leave

  • 5. Go to the pond, use pole (shorter than typing “fishing pole”) TWICE. You’ll get the hand first and it saves you time on your first forced quest.

  • 6. Go to the playground, use doll, leave

  • 7. Go to house and type “use key” 3 times

*Keep in mind, you can simply hold down the space bar rather than continuously tap it in this section!*
1-Bit Section
So, for this area, you don’t have to interact with much. From here, you can immediately go to the cave in the bottom left of the area to pick up the paddle and head straight towards the boat.

Considering you got the hand in the first half of the game; you won’t need to spend time having to fish for it. The mayor will then quickly get you and take you to town.
Here, you need to trigger 3 glitches to help progress the plot. They’re discovered by helping out the villagers. The fastest villagers you can help are:

  • 1. France (You just need to spam space bar as you’re not prompted to do or say anything)

  • 2. (A good Best Friend to recruit later on as their Special Move does 25 dmg)

  • 3. Morton (You should move him to the mayor as it makes talking to them back n forth faster when you need to pick up the sword)

  • 4. The Ants (you don’t even need to talk to them, you can just pick up the CAN OF PEARS and hand it to them to complete their quest)

  • 5. The Frog (though his dialogue is lengthy, I’ve never had a problem triggering a cut scene with him immediately afterwards- again- the space bar is your friend!)

*If you're going for the perfect ending, you must do all the quests- including Phoney*

From here, you just need to follow the quest on getting the sword, giving it to Groncho then having to go home.
  • When you enter the chamber to retrieve the shed key, choose the scythe as your special will do a lot of damage

There isn’t much to do but going from your home to the NORTH while not interacting with anything else. Then, once you’re prompted to go back home- SLEEP.
2.5/Coloured Section
There isn’t much you can do in the beginning of this section you can do besides spamming the space bar. It’ll be the tutorial section then afterwards it’ll prompt you to go to the NORTH to pick your party members. Scroobert (deals a lot of damage) and France are my go to’s as they are right beside each other and then from there, your adventure begins!

*Don't forget to equip whatever equipment you have! It makes combat go by faster*

There’s two fights (on the top and bottom left side) where it’s going to be your basic combat. Depending how good you are at blocking and not missing your attack prompts, you should get through it under 10 minutes. The other two involve the Riddler (top right) and a lever puzzle (one of many) in the bottom right.

The Riddler is easy- the answers are:
  • 1. Jack

  • 2. 4

  • 3. You can write anything here
The lever puzzle:

Friendville

After you complete this section by retrieving all the eyes, off to friendville you go. As I previously mentioned, you don’t have to write a whole bunch, a letter or keyboard smashing will be enough for the mayor area. Fight tiny joe, go straight to the fish shop. Take your eye patch then head straight for the docks. After fighting, you’re going to come across 2 lever puzzles. One being:

And the other being:

From here you fight the Captain then you have to go Mayor's basement. Defeat the family of foxes, retrieve the RNG hideout code, defeat the Raff (Insert Jerma Rat Movie Reference here)

You're going to encounter this music puzzle:

It's pretty easy as it goes: 12324

Then onto the FINAL BOSS.

So, here it doesn't matter what ending you're going for- you're going to have to interact with the dog. You won't be able to progress otherwise! Then after you kill the final boss and you meet up with Groncho again, it will trigger a final glitch and you will enter the ending of the game.
