Step #1: Navigating Your Profile
For the sake of brevity this guide will assume that you already know how to navigate to your steam profile, however given enough demand I may do a separate guide on that process in the future to help those that are struggling. Once you have reached your steam profile locate the "Edit Profile" button (see above picture for an approximate location) and move your cursor over to said button. This will cause the "Edit Profile" button to become illuminated as a lighter shade of grey than it was previously. Once the "Edit Profile" button has become illuminated, select it by pressing the left mouse button on your computer mouse (this will work on both a wired or wireless mouse, however if you are using a wireless mouse make sure to confirm that said mouse has sufficient battery life).

Important Note: While the attached image features my own steam profile, you actually need to locate the "Edit Profile" button on your profile, as this process will not work on any profiles other than your own. I apologize for this inconvenience. Feel free to reach out to me if you need some one-on-one help finding the "Edit Profile" on your own profile.
Step #2: Navigating Settings Categories
As the options menu opens you will be greeted with a list of categories related to settings you can change. This list is found on the left-hand side of the screen and organized in a vertical fashion, though the ordering of options seems to be arbitrary in nature. Navigating through the selection of all ten categories may seem daunting, but this guide is here to help with the crippling and sanity breaking anxiety such a variety of choice will unavoidably cause. To proceed locate the "Featured Showcase" button (see above photo for approximate location). Harking back to your recent adventure with the "Edit Profile" button, you once again must move your mouse cursor to the button you wish to interact with, in this case the "Featured Showcase" button. Like the button from the previous step, the "Featured Showcase" button will also become illuminated as a lighter shade of grey than it was previously once it comes in contact with your mouse cursor. Once the "Featured Showcase" button has become illuminated you can finally select it by pressing the left mouse button on your computer mouse.

Important Note: When the settings first open, you will have a random settings category already selected (thought it typically tends to be "General"). This will not affect your results however, so it's best to ignore everything but the list of settings categories for the entirety of this step.
Step #3: Accessing the Featured Showcase Drop-Down List
With the "Featured Showcase" settings category selected you can now shift your attention away from the list of options you became so familiar with in the last step. You specially want to focus that attention on the light grey rectangle labeled "<None selected>" (see above photo for approximate location). One may notice my difference in wording for this step, as I did not call this rectangle a button. This is actually because it is no mere button, in actuality it is a drop-down menu! Even more jarring is the fact that letting the mouse cursor come in contact with said drop-down menu does not cause it to illuminate to a different color! With this in mind, carefully move the mouse cursor to a position in which it is making contact with the drop-down menu. Be careful to double check that the mouse cursor is in fact lined up correctly, as the lack of additional visual feedback upon making contact makes this significantly more challenging than the buttons you had to press in previous steps. Once you are absolutely certain everything is lined up, select the drop-down menu by pressing the left mouse button on your computer mouse.

Important Notes: Depending on your steam level you may have more or less profile showcases available; however, this will have little to no effect on your results. You may find that all of your available featured showcases are in use meaning that the drop-down menu will be labeled as something other than "<None selected>," however this will not have an effect on the next step. Also, a small arrow is visible on the right most side of the drop-down menu. You do not have to click on said arrow to activate the drop-down menu, as clicking anywhere in the confines of the rectangle will cause it to drop down.
Step #4: Selecting the Correct Type of Featured Showcase
With the drop-down menu opened, you will be a left with a list of possible showcases with even more options than what you had to deal with in Step #2. It's quite understandable to have that life destroying level of anxiety crawling its way back into your brain, however one thing has now gotten easier. Specifically, the option you need to select will in fact become illuminated when coming into contact with the mouse cursor. To proceed forward, locate the option "Favorite Game" on the drop-down vertical list. Once located move the mouse cursor until it comes into contact with the "Favorite Game" list option, you will know you have succeeded as the said list option will become illuminated as light blue. Once the "Favorite Game" list option becomes illuminated select it by pressing the left mouse button on your computer mouse.

Important Note: This is the first and last time in this guide that an option becomes illuminated as blue upon making contact with the mouse cursor.
Step #5: Opening the Favorite Game Selection Menu
With the favorite game showcase selected, now you just need to set your favorite game (Bad Rats). Once a favorite game has been set you can no longer revert to having your favorite game set as "none." This can be seen in the attached photo, so keep that in mind when following this step yourself. There is a small rectangular area beneath the text "Favorite Game" in the new menu that appeared after selecting an option from the drop-down menu in the previous step (see above image for approximate location). When the mouse cursor comes into contact with this rectangular area a blue square containing a depiction of pencil. The selection required to progress to the next step is made by clicking on this blue square using the left mouse button on computer mouse.

Important Note: This is the first and last time in this guide that an option becomes marked with a symbol rather becoming illuminated with a different color.
Step #6: Setting Your Favorite Game (Bad Rats)
Just about done with the process; this step is extremely straight forward. After having clicked on the blue square in the previous step, a text box will have opened. Simply type "bad rats" into the text box, as this will cause a small dialog box that says "Bad Rats" to appear below the text box. Carefully move your mouse cursor over to said dialog box. This will cause the dialog box to become illuminated as a lighter shade of grey than it was previously. Once the dialog box has become illuminated, select it by pressing the left mouse button on your computer mouse. It is with that last click that Bad Rats is officially set as your favorite game in your "Favorite Game" showcase.

Important Note: Sometimes the dialog box can go away if you misclick or something else along those lines. If this happens to you then just delete a letter that you've already typed and then retype it. Doing so will cause the dialog box to come back 100% of the time from what I can tell.
Step #7: Celebrate!!
You did it! You beat the odds! You did the impossible! Through hard work, determination, and an incomprehensibly large amount of blood sweat and tears you've managed to create a steam profile that all will be envious of. A true testament to your favorite game for all to see. Now all that's left is to back out to your profile and see the showcase for yourself. Congratulations!

Important Note: Bad Rats is no mere game, it's a lifestyle.
