A mod collection I'm using for my first time playing the Calamity mod.
(Solo playthrough - Expert Revengeance)

This has Calamity (of course), extra Calamity whips, some QoL mods, and other stuff.

I added a bunch of cheaty mods to combat my dying interest in continuing my playthrough. Honestly, I don't understand it. People keep telling me Revengeance is the way to play Calamity, right? Well I'm not enjoying it anymore. I was having fun up until the start of Hardmode, where a f**king Snowball Cannon carried me the entire way.

Then, I obtain a Sea's Searing pre-hardmode because AS is summonable before then for some stupid reason, and it being a worm boss I can outmaneuver made it beatable in just two attempts with piercing weapons and that stupid fish staff. This mod's balancing is absolutely, positively f**ked.

Astrum Aureus and Ravager were, and I'm not exaggerating, the worst two bosses I have ever fought in any game, ever. Their attacks were so fast and made so little sense that I was left more frustrated than anything else. Terraria leaves you with a feeling of "I need to get stronger so I can beat this boss" and the satisfaction, not relief, that comes from that is great.

Calamity throws a slog of bosses at you that reuse AI from existing bosses like no tomorrow, some a lot more cleverly than others, and beating something like Ravager leaves you more annoyed as to why the fight is so poorly designed than relieved that it's finally over. My experience with Calamity so far has been filled with both good and bad.

I finally beat Moon Lord after being unable to beat Empress of Light because of some bullsh*t changes ruining my favorite boss from vanilla, only to find out they nerfed the Terraprisma on top of that. Why the f**k does Calamity feel the need to sh*t on Summoner as hard as they have, only to turn around and make it into some gimmick joke class with you being able to "become" the summons? Let me play how I want to play for f**k sake.

After my jaded ass fought the donuts (Guardians or whatever) about... 100+ times? I switched the difficulty from MM Revengeance to EM Revengeance, and I still was having trouble with the fight. People find this sh*t simple, how? The difficulty just gets worse and worse and I am trying to play a video game here, not some trials of tribulation whatever the f**k. There IS a such thing as too difficult!

Updated for TModloader 1.4.4 - I had to stop playing because the donuts genuinely wasn't an enjoyable fight and after like... 300+ attempts? I realized I was wasting my time. That and my FPS was tanking horrifically in my base, most biomes (because of all the effects and dusts or whatever), and even during boss fights. Calamity is great at aesthetic and theming, but its balancing is still absolutely f**ked.

If you want something that is great difficulty and won't frustrate you out of poor design, play ULTRAKILL. Seriously.
