Part 1: Download atelier-sync-fix
Part 2 and 3: Add d3d11.dll from atfix.zip next to your game's .exe and change launch options
Browse your game's local files by right clicking it in your steam library on Desktop mode (in Steam Deck's case, left trigger), then click manage, then click "Browse local files" to take you to Atelier's .exe folder, then drop d3d11.dll that you got from the atelier-sync-fix folder next to the .exe.
After that, copy and paste
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" %command%
Into your launch options by right clicking the game in your steam library, and then clicking Properties.
Part 4: Play the game.
No, really, you're done. Have fun.
"Woah! That's a heck of an uplift in framerate. What is this fix doing?"
Apparently, these games release in such a state that they only use half of your system's resources to play them, and this fix patches this problem away. It should also give you better framerates on normal Linux desktops as well, not just Steam Deck.

There is no downside to applying this fix outside of your steam deck actually utilizing an appropriate amount of it's hardware resources, thus having less battery life playing this game, but you can cap your framerate using the steam deck's internal TDP settings to eke out more battery life, so what this will result in is a more stable framerate if nothing else.

My framerate went from 23-25 FPS playing this game on Steam Deck to 50-51 FPS.

This fix also works for other Koei Tecmo games allegedly so this should also work for Ryza 2 or any game from Koei Tecmo that uses this same engine, and is a Linux exclusive fix, there are reports that this will crash your game if you try to apply this fix on Windows.
Note to Windows Users
This guide is for linux, but you can find a windows version here: https://github.com/TellowKrinkle/atelier-sync-fix/releases/tag/tkr-20230415

I don't play Ryza on windows so you'll have to find a different guide on how to set this up.

For anyone wondering,
I'm using this on Ryza 2, 5800x3d and 4080 super
Before using Sync Fix my GPU always limited on 70-75% usage with CPU 15%, right know is using 99%!!!
FPS boosted from 120 to 200++ on my Setting on 4K Render in 2K monitor. Damn So Smooth~

How i set up just place the d3d11.dll on same folder with the .exe

Well, seeing as I don't have Rise of the Ronin OR Nioh, the best way for you to find out is just try it. The worst that happens is that your game does not boot, by which you can just delete all your modifications made and verify the game cache and it will be back to normal.

it think it's whatever nioh was using so im not sure.

Does it use the same exact engine as Atelier? Because don't quote me on this, but I heard this fix works for any game using the same engine.

I have what may be a very dumb question, is there any chance that a fix like this might help rise of the ronin? It's in a similarly janky state, but before i muck about, would someone with more expertise on the subject look into it...

if it doesn't work for you, just choose proton 8.0-5
