As we all know, several of Mafia 3 achievements are utterly broken. I completed the game a couple of years ago, and the achievements I had the most trouble with were:

• "The New Boss"
  
• "Live Another Day"
  
• "No Loose Ends"
  
• "Can't Trust a Rat"

I searched a lot in the internet about how to make this achievements work as intended without luck, and the best advise I got was: "Complete the requirements in a single run", and oh boy is it tedious. For starters there is about 2 hours of gameplay before you encounter your first racket informant/boss, which is just ridiculous if you take the "single run" approach, so I created a couple of save files in strategic points of the game to make this process as painless as possible.

For those who want to see others methods to get this achievements, I will link other guides and sources at the bottom of this guide. I personally did not like those, that's why I'm sharing an alternative.

Steps

• Current Saves Backup
  This step only applies if you already have a save of the game you want to preserve.
  Go to this path on your computer:
  - "C:\Users\[YourUser]\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia III\Data\76561198287335520\gamesaves\default\aslot"
  Note: Remember to replace [YourUser] with your user name.
  
  This 3 files are the backup you need to copy somewhere safe:
  
  
  
• Disable Steam Cloud
  I recommend you disable steam cloud, this will avoid problems with replacing the files if necessary and we have a backup anyway (remember?).
  
  Just right click the game on Library and go to "Properties":
  
  
  Then uncheck the option "Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud for Mafia III: Definitive Edition":
  

As stated in the introduction, the achievements this guide is aiming to help with are:

• "The New Boss": Flipped 16 Racket Bosses
  
• "Live Another Day": Recruited 15 Racket Informants
  
  
• "No Loose Ends": Killed all of the Racket Bosses
  
• "Can't Trust a Rat": Killed 15 Racket Informants

Depending on the ones you are missing you may want to use the first or second save file. But the general strategy is the same, which is speedrun the game killing/recruiting all of the racket informant/bosses in a single run, this means not quitting the game and hoping it does not crash, which trust me, it may happen, I lost 2 runs because of this. As I'm sure you may be thinking by now, yes, this means you must do a 8 to 10 hours run "flawless", but what can I said, I felt this was the most legitimate way to do it.

Need all 4 achievements? OR Need only racket informant achievements?
Use the save files called "01 Save File - Before First Racket Informant (Church)", so you can recruit or kill the first racket informant, then do the same with the first racket boss, and continue from there.

Need only racket bosses achievements?
Use the save files called "02 Save File - Before First Racket Boss (Church)", so you can recruit or kill the first racket boss, and continue from there.

To help you understand where exactly this save files are setup I will use the video:

The save files "01 Save File - Before First Racket Informant (Church)" would be about 2:08:55, right after the first wiretapping from Donovan.

The save files "02 Save File - Before First Racket Boss (Church)" would be about 2:19:00, right before confronting the first racket boss at the church.

There are other guides that describe other methods, but as far as I'm concerned the do not work, at least they did not work for me.
