TIPS & TRICKS GUIDE!!

IN THIS GUIDE I WILL BE SHARING SOME OF MY TIPS & TRICKS FOR COMPLETING QUESTS & CRAFTING ITEMS IN DDLV!

THE PURPOSE IS TO MAKE DLV TASKS A LITTLE BIT EASIER TO COMPLETE.

The purpose of this guide is to share information on how to complete tasks & better your dlv experience. Some of these strategies may be better or worse depending on your play style & how you want to go about things.
TIP 1 | SELLING GEMS


The Vitalys mines is located in Sunlit Plateau, right behind the bridge.



An easier way to finish the selling gems quest is to mine Vitalys crystals in the vitalys mines.



They now count as gems, so you no longer need to sell emeralds, amethyst, or any of the more valuable gems to complete this quest. Since the Scar update, there is a bug where some new items & things are bugged and not registering.

  • As you can see in the image, the Vitalys Crystal is not registering even though I've gotten many of them because of this bug. Other crystals that are currently not registering alongside the Vitalys Crystal are Ruby, Shiny Ruby, Sapphire, & Shiny Sapphire.



-> Don't forget to bring a mining buddy with you into the mine! You will get double the crystals.

TIP 2 | CHEST ORGANIZATION
When you're collecting loads of items in Dreamlight Valley, it can be a little overwhelming. If you want a better way to organize your items, keep scrolling down.

MATERIALS STORAGE


One of the best ways to organize your chests is to buy a kitchen cabinet and put them behind every chest (in an empty room).
  • For some items to be dropped and placed on a table, you may need a larger kitchen cabinet. You can tell the difference by looking at the image above.



After this, you should drop 1 of each item and put them on the top of the cabinets.



This way, you'll know which fish is in which chest; which vegetable is in which chest; which materials is in- you get the point.

  • The extra chests that are in front represent more storage for the exact same fish. I'm doing this because we don't have a way to upgrade the space for our chests as it stands in ddlv currently (10.30.2022).

*** UPDATE 10.28.2022: THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE SKIPPED TIME!! IF YOU PLAY DDLV IN REALTIME, YOUR WOOD WILL NOT SPAWN RAPIDLY!!!

I have tested this part of the guide in a new game save and can confirm it doesn't work, unless you skip ahead of time in your save. Someone else in the DDLV discord server has been able to confirm this for the community as well:

In one of your biomes, be sure to place a singular tree.



From what is pictured here, I have 1 forgotten lands tree in the corner of my biome. The results will leave you in shock.



All wood types will begin to spawn rapidly. You can do this for a while in the specified biome to get lots of wood quickly.
  • This is currently the best way I have discovered to get lots of wood in this game. Considering that we can no longer buy craftable items because of the Scar update, this strategy is your best bet to crafting those items.

  • Depending on how long you decide to pick up wood, you will either have more or less than what is pictured. If the case is more, you may need some more chests.
