* If for some reason the online patch is not properly installing the latest version of GFWL for you or you are having the 'Unable to log into Games for Windows Live' issue, you can uninstall the gfwl version you have and instead use this link here to get it working: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201134

* If you followed every step above and it still doesn't work, check your game directory; if there's a XLive.dll in it, delete it, that is the source of your issues and you do NOT need it in the least

* If your Microsoft account gets locked or If you get the error shown here: Go to this link https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-windows-10 or search in google “ Update xbox app for windows 10 “
The app will update visual C++ and Direct X. If it still giving you this error, re-install the game and apply the online patch. If it doesn't log in, you can restart your PC and try again (this helps a lot strangely enough, I think it's something to do with how Windows processes updates and prioritizes log-ins

* Your first time logging into GFWL will take a very long time, this is normal, just be patient. Logging in after the first time will be quick.
* Make sure your GFWL password is under 16 digits or else it could cause issues.
* Please do not minimize the game while you're in the middle of an online match (including between rounds) , that will desync the game and cause a bunch of lag. If you need to check something please do so after the match has ended.
* The spectator feed is broken after round one, whatever you see in round 2 onward while you aren't playing is just a mess. So if you are streaming the game with more than you and one other then I would recommend teaming up to avoid being a spectator.
* In order to play with teams without breaking the lobby, you must pair with another player outside of the lobby first then join in the lobby using the search function (accepting an invite will break it as well). However if you are the host of the lobby then you can freely join/dismantle teams while you're in the lobby.
* Occasionally, scrolling over DLC characters online will cause an error that sends you back to the main menu, it sucks, but you just have to go back into the lobby/recreate and try again, switching hosts of the lobby seems to help fix it more frequently.
* Swap costumes for the DLC characters, and Alternate costumes for every character were not added to the PC version, along with several gems, these were all included in the final patch that only consoles got. We only use default gem loadouts anyway, and costumes can just be modded.
* If the Game for Windows Live menus do NOT appear after installing the online patch make sure you have ONLY installed the online patch and not both the online and community one.

Checklist:
- Did you install the online and not the community patch and did you reboot afterwards?
- Do you have a XLive.dll in your game directory?
- Is your password less than 16 characters?
- Did you actually wait long enough during the first log-in period?

If you have and you're still having problems, go to the FAQ section. Otherwise this should be enough to get you moving!

Shoutouts to Saltlevelsmax, Phantom Striker, and the rest of the Street Fighter x Tekken discord team that helped me organize all this into a single guide.
