Introduction
I hope that most of you will have the game installed on a fast SSD so that everything can load quickly and smoothly.
But as we know SSD storage space is still significantly more precious than HDDs and so every gigabyte matters!
This guide will show you how to delete language files that one doesn't need. This is actually functionality available to developers through Steam but sadly it's rarely being utilized... :(
Locating and deleting the unnecessary files
I recommend first moving those files to the Recycle Bin - in case something goes wrong you can just simply restore them without having to redownload everything. After verifying that the game still works without problems you can permanently delete them.

First go to your Steam Games folder (by default C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common) and locate the game. Then dig deeper until you reach this destination, in my case: E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection\Uncharted4_data\build\pc\main\sound1\streams\speech
Delete every file there EXCEPT for the languages that you want to use - in my case I only left english.psarc in place.
After that repeat this process for the speech-tll folder (that's the Expansion/DLC).
Full path: E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection\Uncharted4_data\build\pc\main\sound1\streams\speech-tll

You can also delete the executables that you don't need, depending on if your CPU supports AVX. Mine does and so I got rid of u4-l.exe and tll-l.exe in the game's main directory .
Otherwise delete the two other ones.
Conclusion
In the unlikely case that the game is further patched these files might be restored so these steps would have to be repeated.

I hope that this short guide was able to help you reclaim some precious disk space!
Take care!

Nice guide :praisesun:
I also did a few guides:
https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/profiles/76561198003433562/myworkshopfiles/?section=guides

The game list:
- Horizon - Zero Dawn
- Mafia (Reboot) - Definitive Edition
- Mafia III - Definitive Edition
- Deathloop
- Dead Rising 4
- Days Gone
- Just Cause 4

FYI:
I combine removing the audio files etc. with compressing the game folder with the Compact GUI tool (16K compression mode)
Uncharted is only 76 GB now :steamhappy:

There are - for example Horizon Zero Dawn or Beyond Good and Evil Remastered come to mind...
If you feel like it you can just experiment by moving stuff you don't need to the Recycle Bin and checking if everything still works. At your own risk of course! :tank:

Seriously, the games take 12 hours longer to download for me for stuff I do not need.
At least they should make an effort for ecology, Greenpeace or something should annoy them lol.

Hm, a rough calculation is there's about 3.5 hours worth of voice files just in Uncharted 4 base game, judging by the filesize. Almost makes me wish there was a "low quality" option...

I don't want to go back to the days of 22 Khz scratchy dialogue like in the original Mass Effect, but when they're localizing this into like two dozen languages you'd hope there'd be some effort to make it not balloon up so huge. Anyways, thanks for the pointers on where the bloat is.

@dinosauriac: Now that you mention it... :lunar2020thinkingtiger:
It's dialogs in multiple languages from both the vanilla game and the expansion in pretty high quality, so maybe it is at least somewhat compressed...? :pandastunned:

TWENTY SEVEN GIGABYTES?!

Are they shipping uncompressed WAVs?! How is there even that much audio used? Is most of it dialogue? I know the characters can be talkative, but dayum...
