Description
Viet Cong fighters are occupying islands and channels near our base. Eliminate them!
Mission Objective
The goal in this mission is very simple. Eliminate enemy boats and fighters taking positions between rocky islands on the eastern coast. Eliminating all enemies in highlighted areas and returning to base are the conditions for winning the mission.

Seems Easy. Where's the Challenge?
The challenge is that you are forced to fly below 100 meters above sea level throughout the mission. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a "friendly" Surface to Air Missile rushing to give a hug to your OH-6A Cayuse, ending your flight.
This means that the main obstacle to the mission will be the need to maneuver efficiently between difficult terrain to avoid close encounters with rocks and SAMs.

I don't think it needs to be said, but this mission was not designed with novice pilots in mind.

Quality of Life Features For SP
Quick Saving - Simply pressing "team switch" button (U by default) will quickly and conveniently save progress in the mission.
M134 for the pilot - For SP purposes I've moved control of the M134 minigun from co-pilot to pilot for easy use in SP.

Procedural generation is used in the mission to make it fresh and interesting on every playthrough.

Enemy spawn positions as well as their gear and time of day are randomized each time mission is launched.


COOP mode is available for up to 9 players.

This mission takes between 15-20 minutes to complete (crashing not included).

did this with two friends, Me flying paying attention to where we're going and not crashing, a human as our crew chief and human as co-pilot keeping an eye on our altitude and spotting enemies for us. it was a very fun little mission, and these rock formations are my favorite part of the map. next week we're gonna replay with zeus and try it as a pbr crew.

We just mean missions as helicopter crews, looking at Valkyrie, those scenarios might be it.

I don't know what you mean by "mission like this". My Valkyrie missions also involve players flying around as a helicopter crew firing at irregulars so maybe that is close enough.

I think this is my favorite mission so far from you. Even with 2 players (pilot and crew chief), we completed it in 30 minutes having fun doing fly-bys on the helpless VC below. We both would love if there were a few more missions like this.

Did you enable S.O.G. Prairie Fire in launcher before starting the game proper?
