"If you have Nvidia, then feel free to use the standard and repeatedly proven method:

open “Nvidia Control Panel”;
On the left, click “Manage 3D settings”;
Now on the right side of the window, open the “Program Settings” tab;
first, in the drop-down list of programs below, select Borderlands: GOTY;
then even lower, where you need to specify the preferred graphics processor for the program, select “High-performance Nvidia processor“."

“1) Desktop > right-click > display settings > graphics settings > browse > add "BorderlandsGOTY" app > options > and select high performance for your NVIDIA Card

This involves a little bit of file editing, but nothing too crazy. I’m not a computer wizard so if I could do it, then anyone can too.

~ press ctrl+F > a search bar should pop up > type in MinSmoothedFrameRate and you'll see that it has a number next to it (it's usually 22), set that to 0; right under that there's MaxSmoothedFrameRate set that to 0 as well. After this, press ctrl+F again and search for bSmoothedFrameRate. It should say FALSE, but in case it doesn't set it to FALSE. Then save this file (upper left corner > file > save)

If you did everything right, then this is how it should look:
MinSmoothedFrameRate = 0
MaxSmoothedFrameRate = 0
bSmoothedFrameRate = FALSE
Do not forget to save it!
