Gameplay
This game is similar to other you-are-the-bullet-hell Rougelites. Thus, the most important things to know are that the Upgrades you choose will greatly impact the way your run is played and how long you may hope to survive. Either way, you will collect coins to spend in the Upgrade store. Achievements also grant you coins. For more information, read on!
Achievements
Steam Achievements are now enabled so you can view your earned achievements both in-game as well as on the Achievement Page.
You get coins for completing achievements.
Steam Items
The game currently yields you a Steam Item every 30 minutes, two times every 20-23 hours (this was changed from four times a day previously). You don't need to actively play the game to receive items, instead simply leave it open.

Gameplay does not seem to affect the rate or amount of items you receive. Equally, items do not in any way affect gameplay, and there currently isn't a way to view the items ingame, however this could change.

The item you receive is random and either a marketable item or a non-marketable item. The ratio between marketable and unmarketable items seems to be roughly 1:3, meaning you receive a unmarketable item for every three marketable items you receive.

Items appear to have no in-game use (at the moment) and can only be viewed through your inventory. Click here to see your current Pizza Hero items!

Item Types
There are several item types, some of which are marketable, while others are not. This means that they can/cannot be sold on Steam Marketplace. Click here to see all items sold for Pizza Hero!

Marketable Items
There are currently 35 marketable items in total, of which there are
  • 30 Common Slices. These items have a static image and can have varying toppings and attributes.
  • 5 Uncommon Slices. These items have an animated image but are otherwise not different compared to common slices. You can identify uncommon slices by their green border.

Despite their labels, at the moment the ration between common and uncommon seems to be roughly 1:2, meaning you receive about 2 common items for each uncommon item, if you receive a marketable item.

Unmarketable Items
There are currently 4 unmarketable items in total, which are: 1, 10, 100, and 1K Pizza Tokens.

They can be purchased on the Pizza Hero Item Store as well as earned through playing. The likelihood of receiving each item free appears to coincide with their value, as in it is about ten times more likely to receive 1 token. So far, I have not seen anyone earn 100 or 1K Tokens by playing.

These tokens so far seem not to carry any value, they cannot be sold but can be traded to other users. I would only recommend buying these tokens if you want to support the developer (see also the description in the item store above).

Behind the Curtains
As the item distribution is done by Steam, it matters only if Steam decides that you are worthy of a new item. It does this by following rules set by the developer, which the developer can change any time causing you to receive items at differing rates and probabilities.

At the moment, the game seems to be asking Steam to check your playtime and eligibility of a new item every 5 Minutes, and an additional time right at startup. This means, that you could simulate playtime and only open the game every 30 minutes to receive your item.

Again, as the distribution is done server-side, there is no point in trying to modify the game to distribute items faster.
