[Introduction]

  • This is a text only walkthrough for anyone who wants to get all the achievements, collectables and items in an efficient way with minimal backtracking. Follow this guide and you won't miss anything!
  • I have tried to keep it concise and easy to read but it's a big game to 100% so be prepared for a long one. It will take just under 2 playthroughs. You keep all your upgrades in NG+ and it's much easier to run through.
  • There will be slight spoilers in regards to enemy names and items but nothing story related.
  • I won't tell you how to play the game and beat bosses. This is a checklist/walkthrough. There are many bosses and everyone will approach them differently based on playstyle. You can respec your skill points at shrines for free so don't be worried about trying things out.
  • Try and kill everything you see, we will gain materials, Will and Experience and we want lots of these. You'll also get better at the game....dodging, spell use, when to be aggressive, when to be patient.
  • Try and pick every plant you come across, at least until you have the seeds and soaks which are a random drop. You can farm them later on but you have to wait in-game time for them to regrow so it's better to grab them as you go.
  • Open every chest as described in the walkthrough, they will always contain materials or important upgrade items and getting all these materials means way less farming for them later on.

There are 81 achievements. A cool easter egg is that in the original novel 'Journey to the West', Sun Wukong and his party had to go through 81 tribulations to attain Buddhahood, so let us start our own journey.

**If you own the Deluxe Edition you'll have access to 4 armours, a gourd, a weapon and a curio that won't be mentioned in this walkthrough and are not required for any achievements**

Prologue
We start the game with an opening cinematic and a tutorial, we have no health or stamina bar to worry about here so enjoy!

Home is Behind The old monkey has told his tale. Onward you must go. Complete the prologue
Chapter 1 - I
Forest of Wolves
Start in a fight with your first 2 journal entries.
Wolf Scout (1/14) and Wolf Swornsword (2/14)

Gather our first plant Aged Ginseng. You want to keep picking plants when you can, at least until you get the seed or soak for it (these drops are random and some rare ones drop from certain enemies later on - don't worry, I'll point these out).

Continue up the stone path, the path will split with an enemy on either side. Let's go right first for our next journal entry Wolf Stalwart (3/14).
Ahead is the other enemy by a chest and you will see a golden trail, these appear when you are close to a new Shrine.
Open the chest and follow the trail to learn more about Shrines.
After the cutscene we will have acquired a map. Use the shrine 'Front Hills' just behind you to rest and recharge and claim any special edition gifts.

We start the Chapter with some basic equipment – Tiger Hide Loincloth (1/19), Cotton Wristwraps (2/19), Cotton Legwraps (3/19) and Willow Wood Staff (1/3)
You should know that if you're wearing a head piece for stats but you don't like the look of it then you can go to Settings > Gameplay > Show Headgear and hide it while keeping the stats.

Ahead are 2 enemies including a new journal entry Wolf Soldier (4/14).
Continue over the bridge to an enemy and another beyond. Behind him on the big tree is our next plant Purple Lingzhi. Go past the right of the tree to see our next plant Gentian and an enemy to our left.

If we look at our map, the main path is to the top right of what we have uncovered, we want to explore some more though so take a left from the Gentian towards the stream. You will get a short scene with a character, go to where he was and interact with the statue head to get an important item (Skandha of Form).
Turn 180 from that and follow the stream. Left of the fallen tree is a Lingzhi. Follow the water as it turns left to find a new plant Jade Lotus and a new journal entry Croaky (5/14)

Before we continue following the water, turn 90 degrees to your right and spot 2 Wolves and a Gentian. Now back to the stream and continue up. Lotus on the right and we come to the bridge we crossed earlier. Go under it for a journal entry Crow Diviner (6/14)
On the left is a Lingzhi and on the right is a Will. Collecting Will gives you gourd charges back which is nice.

Follow the stream all the way back and continue with the main path. Approach the large enemy to be put in a boss fight and be given your first spell Immobilize. Once you've defeated the Chief, a journal entry Bullguard (1/4)

Onwards to an open area, stick to the right. Wolf and Lingzhi. Stay right for a shallow pool of water, 2 Frogs and a Lotus. 180 turn and go up the ridge on your right to an enemy, then right from them up the path. Ginseng along the linear path. Another enemy on the left and a Ginseng on the right and we arrive at another split.
Go right to our first Meditation Spot (1/3) of the chapter.

After meditating, we head the opposite way into a cave and follow the golden trail to our next shrine 'Outside the Forest'. After you exit the shrine you get a cutscene and in your new form you can fly ahead and scout the area if you wish...you also have the option to change back, so when you're ready, do that next to the shrine so we can fully explore.

Ahead are 2 wolves. A left turn next to them but first lets go straight to another Wolf by a bridge. A Lotus to the right of the bridge and beyond that in the distance you should see a giant figure with a huge head walking about. Now is a good time to mention that this mini-boss, the Wandering Wight, is missable if we progress to the secret area without defeating him. We won't attempt him yet though. You're welcome to have a go but it's better to return later in the chapter when we're a bit more geared up. Don't worry, I will remind you.
Turn around and return up, taking the side path from earlier that is now on our right. On the left behind a tree is a Lingzhi. Further up a Ginseng and to the right, by some pots, a Wolf.
You should see a chest to open and the next journal entry Bandit Chief (7/14).

The path splits here, go right to the bridge and a tutorial against ranged attacks. Close the distance when you can and add a journal entry Wolf Archer (8/14). You'll notice a gate behind him, we won't go through it yet, we're going to loop around and reach it from behind. So return to the chest and take the left path now, followed by an immediate left up the hill to a Ginseng. Go straight and follow the path down, at another split go left towards a Wolf and a waterfall. At the water go left to a Lotus and in front of the waterfall for a Crow. Follow the water for a Lingzhi by a tree. Stick to the left and continue to find 2 Wolves. Just past the log where one was sat is a Gentian. To the left of this, by a small pool, is a Lotus. Turn around and stick to the left, going up the path to a gate where we can see our next boss. Instead lets finish clearing this area so keep following the path round, past some fire braziers to spot the gate by the bridge from earlier.

With your back to this bridge gate, go forward and left at the first fire brazier. Take the first left again down to the water and over the other side is a Lotus. Go right from this back to dry land and a plant ahead, this one is our next journal entry! Ginsengling (9/14).

Back to the water and go under the bridge to a Wolf. On dry land, to the right is the large enemy we spotted earlier. We will go left. Left from here heads back to the bridge but we will go forward to a Gentian and spot 2 Wolves ahead. Defeat them and on the right side of their area is a Lingzhi. Go right from here to a Gentian and another view of the large enemy.

Turn around and head back, following the path of the curve, stick to the right until the bridge is on our left again. 2 choices now: Go right to the boss we passed earlier or back to the shrine (you can fast travel to it via the map) to recharge your gourd. This does mean all lesser enemies will respawn however. From the shrine, to get back to the boss, we turn left at the 2 wolves and follow to the bridge, cross it and on to the boss.

Once you've defeated the Chief we get a journal entry Guangzhi (2/4).
Pick up his weapon for our first Transformation Red Tides.
At the back of the area is a Bell (1/3). Ringing all of these takes us to the secret area of Chapter 1. We need to defeat that large wandering enemy before ringing the 3rd, but I will remind you. From the bell, look slightly to the right for a Ginseng. Turn around to exit from where we came in, looking to your left to spot a Will to collect.
Go back to the shrine to recharge. You can buy things if you want but we should be collecting enough from the world so save your Will. You can sell the pieces of gold we pick up for extra Will when you need it.

From the shrine, back down past the 2 Wolves, straight to the Wolf at the bridge.
Follow the water on the right side of the bridge to the end for a Millenium Ginseng.
You could try your hand at the large enemy here with your new transformation, I still think it's better to come back later. From the last plant, keep the edge on your right, avoid the giant, grab a Ginseng before running through the gate ahead.
Chapter 1 - II
Walk over the wooden walkway back to solid ground and 4 Wolves. The archer can hit his friends if they get in the way. One of these is a new journal entry Wolf Sentinel (10/14).

Beyond them is Guanyin Temple. After the cutscene lets go clockwise around this area and then activate the next shrine. Left from the entrance in a small shack is some Will and beyond that in the corner is a Lingzhi. Keeping the wall on your left, continue clockwise past the closed temple and then on the left spot a chest. Turn 180 from here and straight over the other side to a Gentian. Go and activate the shrine 'Guanyin Temple'.
Use the shrine to notice a marker indicating we can craft new armour. Craft the Pilgrim's Headband (4/19).

Hammer and Hew Armed head to toe, dread not the foe. Craft an item at a shrine

As well as Pilgrim's Garb (5/19), Pilgrim's Wristwraps (6/19) and Pilgrim's Legwraps (7/19) (if you can).
Go through the gate to a boss, a King journal entry and achievement.
Lingxuzi (1/5).

Warring with Wolves False is his name. Slay him all the same! Defeat Lingxuzi

Receive the Grey Wolf Mask (8/19) and a Mind Core. We get these as fixed and random drops, we can use them later on as another way to boost our stats.
From the entrance to this place lets go left again. A Lingzhi and then we will head to the opposite diagonal corner to find a Lotus in a pond and beyond that on the right, a chest. Now continue up the stairs to the temple. On the left side is a Celestial Jade Lotus Pill. This increases our health. Exit to our next shrine 'Black Hills'

Bamboo Grove
Down the path you will see 3 Wolves and a Lotus in a pool of water on the left. Before this Lotus is a path off to the left, go down it. Here we meet a friendly NPC. He is part of a missable questline that spans many Chapters. Keep talking to him until he repeats his dialogue. In the middle of this same area is our next Meditation Spot (2/3).

Exit and back to the wolves, take them out if you didn't already. On the right a Gentian. Continue, spot a Wolf ahead but before engaging, notice a path to the right that turns back with a Wolf and chest.
Now kill the other Wolf and head down. There will be a little area to your right that holds our next plant the Snake-Head Mushroom.
Carry on to the water where there are 2 Frogs, a Lotus and at the end some Will. Return and take the new path up, notice a left and go down it for some more Will. Back on the main path and over a bridge to notice a golden trail. Before following it, take a right path and open the box for some consumable pills. Now on to the next shrine guarded by a Crow, 'Snake Trail'

Go up the steps and on your right you will first hear, then see, our next friendly NPC. Another one tied to missable things and spans multiple Chapters. Speak to them, receive an upgrade to our gourd that will allow us to absorb powerful spirits to use in battle. Speak to them again until their dialogue repeats.

Continue on over the bridge to our next journal entry Snake Patroller (11/14). On our left a Mushroom and further on an area with 3 new enemies and a journal entry Skeletal Snake (12/14). Down the path to another Snake.

Before you pass under the bridge, look to your right and jump into the water. Follow the stream to a Lotus and when it opens up to a big pool you may see a big Frog in the distance. Before approaching look to your left and try to lock on to the hidden Croaky. There are 2 more ahead, you can try to get them to come to you one at a time but you may trigger the big one.
Take him out for a Chief entry Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang (3/4) and notice he leaves behind a blue Spirit (1/4). Absorb this for an achievement.

Absorb and Cultivate Consume those who had consumed. Absorb your first Spirit

If you miss picking any of these Spirits up, they will be found at Shrines! Follow the water around to spot a Will. And at the end on the left is a Mushroom. We could jump down from here but it's better to explore from the other side.
Backtrack to where we didn't go under the bridge and now go under.

Reach an open bamboo forest area. Mushroom on your left as you enter. There are lots of Skeletal Snakes here that will wake as you get close, as well as some other Snakes.
Stick to the left, keeping the cliff on your left. Ahead is a stone structure and in front is a plant and a new enemy Fungiling (13/14). At the end is a Mushroom. Turn right from this to a Skeletal Snake and a Lingzhi. There is a path to the left here that leads to a Skeletal Snake, this is where we would have landed if we'd jumped off the cliff after the Frog boss. Backtrack to where we entered this area. This time go right, keeping the cliff on our right. Skeletal Snakes and a Mushroom. Keep right and notice a path with a statue on either side. Don't enter, go straight to another Mushroom. That's every plant in this area, you may wish to clean the rest of the enemies up for XP and Will, then go down the path to our next boss.

Journal Chief Guangmou (4/4). Grab his Spirit (2/4). Two paths, left and right. Left first for the next Bell (2/3). Now the other path and a golden trail leading to the shrine 'Marsh of White Mist'. Turn 180 to a tree with a Luojia Vine. These upgrade our gourds. Continue on, down the wooden walkway to meet a new friend after defeating a Snake. Shen Monkey (1/3).
We receive Gall Gem soak (1/6) for our gourd. We started off with the Old Gourd (2/6) and the Coconut Wine (3/6).

Turn 180 to spot a chest, now turn 180 and forward to our new friend. Speak to him for a new shop. Upgrade the Old Gourd. I recommend always upgrading this for achievements sake. Select brew and add the soak we got, gaining:

Brew of Bravery Fresh brew in an old cask. May it stir a great task! Add a soak to your drink

He sells a new soak Celestial Lotus Seeds (4/6). Exit and on the left a Will. You can drop down but let's take the main path so we know the layout. Return to the wooden walkway and take the right path down. Take the next right to where we could have dropped down for a Mushroom.

A boss is ahead as well as the last Bell after him. First let's return to the missable enemy from earlier to defeat him BEFORE ringing the last Bell with our new gear, skills, transformations and upgraded gourd.
Return to 'Outside the Forest'. Go straight, 2 Wolves and on to the Wolf by the bridge.
Defeat the mini boss Wandering Wight, absorb his Spirit (3/4) (a solid one to use and upgrade) and receive a curio Cat Eye Beads (1/3)

Return to 'Marsh of White Mist' and head down to the next boss.
Defeat him for entry Whiteclad Noble (2/3) and...

Slithering Snake The white-clad one pled his case. Spare him some days of grace. Defeat Whiteclad Noble
Chapter 1 - III
Ahead are steps up and an entrance to a cave. We want to look to our left and follow the water down another path.
We will reach 4 Wolves and a Gentian on the left. At the end is our last Bell (3/3).
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DEFEATED THE WANDERING WIGHT BEFORE RINGING IT. Otherwise you will have to wait for NG+. Ring the bell to be taken to the secret area.

Enduring Echoes Three bells sound, lost souls bound. Enter the secret area in Chapter 1

Ancient Guanyin Temple
Enter the temple, to the left is the shrine 'Grand Chamber'. You will notice a marker next to Craft. Go in and see we can upgrade our weapon to Twin Serpents Staff (2/3).

Handy and Hardy A good match calls for a good weapon. Craft a new weapon

We can also craft new armour, you don't always have to immediately craft these as you unlock them (if you're low on supplies), just keep in mind we have to craft everything eventually but we will amass a lot of material as we play. It's worth crafting this new set now though. Serpentscale Battlerobe (9/19), Serpentscale Bracers (10/19) and Serpentscale Gaiters (11/19).
Nothing else on this left hand side, on the right are 3 chests round the tree. One of them contains the Guanyin's Prayer Beads (12/19).

Open the big doors to the boss of this area.
King entry Elder Jinchi (2/5) and

Temple of Taint Now at the end is the elder’s long wait for the journeyer. Defeat Elder Jinchi

You will be transported back to the last Bell. Look at the corpse hanging from a tree to get our first Vessel; Fireproof Mantle. This will come in handy against areas and bosses with fire.
Return to the main path and enter the next area.

Black Wind Cave
Take the right path for Will. Forward to a Gentian and journal entry Wolf Assassin (14/14).
At the split go left first. At the end, on the right is a Lingzhi and on the left will be a Celestial Taiyi Pill that will increase our Mana, as well as a Meditation Spot (3/3).

Head back and take the other path to the our left. Follow the path, 2 Wolf Assassins and eventually a golden trail. Before the shrine is a Lotus and 2 Wolves. Shrine 'Cave Interior'.
At the shrine we can craft new armours: Bronze Monkey Mask (13/19), Bronze Brocade Battlerobe (14/19), Bronze Armguard (15/19) and Bronze Buskins (16/19).
Again, don't worry if you don't have the materials to craft all these yet. We can do it later or even at the end of the game when we have a ton of materials. We will double check everything at the end so nothing will be missed.

When ready, open the big doors to a boss. Receive a new spell Cloud Step as well as a new entry Black Wind King (3/5).
From where you are facing, look left and head over the stairs to another grassy area. Notice a pot ahead glowing golden. Break it for an Awakening Wine Worm, an upgrade for our gourds. Look to the right from this pot to spot a Ginseng. Return back to where the boss was sitting originally and notice a box which has a curio Agate Jar (2/3). Turn 180 and walk forward to a Lotus in the water. Carry on up the main path, squeezing through an opening.

Ahead is our next shrine 'Outside the Cave' but before that head down a path on the left for a Mushroom. From the shrine, look slightly to your right for a Will. Continue along to fight a bunch of Wolves including a lot of annoying archers. Cross a bridge with archers (Cloud Step can help you if you're getting overwhelmed) and at the end notice you can jump off the left side. Do it and fight a Wolf Assassin who will drop a Spirit (4/4). There's also a Ginseng and a chest.

Go back to the bridge and continue on to yet more archers. Cloud Step can help you reposition and take them out from more favourable angles. Up the wooden walkway as you take them out and you'll see a box on your left with a Celestial Nonary Pill, an upgrade for our Stamina.

Ahead are 3 more Wolves and on the left a Ginseng. Up past more Wolves to the final shrine of the Chapter! 'Bodhi Peak'.
You may have noticed we didn't yet finish getting all armours, journal entries or the last weapon and curio. These will become available after the final boss of this area and we will get them during Chapter 2. There are 2 more soaks we can acquire from this Chapter onwards, they are a random drop every time we pick Ginseng: Steel Ginseng (5/6) and Lotus: Tender Jade Lotus (6/6). Don't worry if you don't get them in this Chapter, we will pick plenty more and they will drop for you eventually.

Let's first head back to 'Marsh of White Mist' and visit our friend to upgrade our Drink. I recommend always upgrading this. Unless you want to return to any spot to farm materials/Will/XP then head back to 'Bodhi Peak' and ready yourself for the final boss.
Remember the Vessel Fireproof Mantle we collected after the secret area? Use it half way through the fight when they power up.
Defeating the boss gives us

Blazing Black Wind Of all things to learn, you chose to play with fire? Defeat final boss of Chapter 1

Cutscenes will follow, congratulations on finishing Chapter 1!
Chapter 2 - I
When we regain control, press pause and see we gained a journal entry for the final boss in Chapter 1, Black Bear Guai (4/5) as well as an entry for Keeper of the Black Wind Mountain (3/3). And where is our final entry? In another secret area of Chapter 1 that we will have access to soon.
You'll notice we can select Relics in the pause menu now too. Select it and pick an upgrade (you can respec this choice, just like our skills).

There are 2 archers ahead so be ready. Walk into the water for a Lotus on the left. To the right, behind a rock, Lotus. Keep going straight to a ramp up. Defeat the new enemy (if he's there, he might have walked away, if so then leave him for now) for entry Rat Soldier (1/15). Go right over the wooden bridge and then right towards the archers, kill them plus another soldier. Rat Archer (2/15).
To the right of the entrance by a tree is a new plant Licorice.
Licorice has a chance to drop a soak as well as the seed.
Now through the entrance and up the path for new drink Lambbrew (1/7).

Head back to the bridge, cross it and look up ahead to see a red structure in the stone. Climb up to that and find a Licorice. From this, look right and see a fallen structure between 2 big rocks. Go under it and see a Licorice on your right and you'll see a new enemy Rat Governor (3/15). You can look over the ledge ahead for a fight we'll tackle soon. Go right into the water for a Lotus and 2 Croaky. You can head back through the water killing more frogs to find ourselves back at the bridge. Follow the path to the left of the fallen structure we went under. A golden trail, follow it, killing a Rat and activating the shrine 'Village Entrance'

Sandgate Village
First go to Store and buy the map.
Go to Craft and notice we can check off Chapter 1 items. Again, don't worry if you can't craft things just yet, just know it's unlocked and can be done any time. You can also buy some materials from the Store.
Wind Bear Staff (3/3), Ebongold Silk Robe (17/19), Ebongold Armguard (18/19) and Ebongold Gaiters (19/19).
We can also cross off the last curio. Return to 'Bodhi Peak' in Chapter 1 and use the shrine Store to buy the Back Scratcher (3/3).
Now we can return to 'Village Entrance' and carry on with Chapter 2.

From the shrine, look right and go beyond the fallen tree down a path for another look at the Frog and a Ginseng. Head back and once over the tree, go left up the path all the way as it curves to the right. Notice a Lingzhi and get ready for a Lingzhiling (4/15). It also drops a new plant Nine-Capped Lingzhi.

Follow this path down to a Will. There will be a left turn but go straight. In this new area, a Will and by the stone steps a Lingzhi. Ahead is a new friend. Speak to him until his dialogue repeats. Beyond him to the Frog, defeat it for entry Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw (1/9) and the Evil Repelling Medicament (1/2) formula. At the back of this arena up on the rocks is a new plant Fragrant Jade Flower. Return and speak to our friend. With these formulas we can make new pills at a shrine.

Look just to the right of the rock he was at, notice a small path that goes around the upper edge of the pool. Follow it to find a Mediation Spot (1/6). Back to those stone steps and up them, turn left at the top and follow for a Will. Up the wooden steps and ahead is an open area we will come to soon. Instead turn 180 and come back on ourselves, up on the ridge to the right will be a Lingzhi and ahead you'll see our last shrine. Travel to it 'Village Entrance'.

At the shrine we can Make Medication. Do so and get

Creative Concoction Tonics are well and good, but not to be wolfed like food! Craft a medicine

This time look left and go across the bridge. You'll notice a gate and enemies ahead including 4 archers, we will deal with them but not yet. Go right up over the hill and over the other side see the wooden walkways we were a minute ago. Go left into the new area.
There are lots of rats here including archers so be prepared to dodge or run and take them all out before exploring. If you do get lost after a chaotic fight, just come back to the entrance and follow these directions.
Keep the wall on your left and go around the outskirts of these buildings until you start going up a hill. You will see a Rat and may have been followed by a new 2-headed Rat who will give you the entry Rat Captain (5/15). As we go up this hill we want to go right towards the 3 archers perched on the edge. After taking out the last one, keep the edge on your right and follow it to a wooden structure with a Licorice inside.

Turn around from this and see another building ahead and up the hill. Go to this for a chest and behind the building for a Jade. Look over the edge to another building, jump down and go behind it for a Rat ambush and inside the building is Will. Exit here and turn left, keep going straight towards another small building until you hear dialogue. Keep speaking to them until it repeats. Turn 180 and on the rooftops directly ahead is an archer. Take him out if you didn't already and on the way is another Will. With this archer dead, drop down in this same area and straight ahead is a building with a Will inside. This triggered 2 Rats for me.

Face the rooftop where we took out the last archer. Spot the big tree on your left and go towards it to fight a Rat Governor (if you didn't already trigger him) and at the base of the tree is a chest with the soak Laurel Buds (2/7). To the left are some doors, don't interact with them yet but to the left of them are Licorice. Turn back and go up the hill to where we spoke to the voices in the small building. Speak to them again now the 2-Headed Rats are killed.
On the left of them will be a path with 3 Rats. Climb the rooftops to take out the archer first.

Go through the entrance and on the tree to your right is Lingzhi. We want to go left from the entrance, keeping the buildings on our left until we find Ginseng. Keep on the left until you notice a square of water with a Lotus in it. You'll also probably notice our next mini boss.
Defeat the Earth Wolf (2/9) and absorb it's Spirit (1/12).

Head towards the voice to find our Horse friend. You know the score, speak to him until he repeats. Turn 180 and head to the back corner. A Licorice on the right and a small well on the left to keep a mental note of for later. Go back, keep the wall on your right until you reach a door. This will open to the soldier and archers we saw earlier in the level. Take them all out, the archers won't respawn. One is stronger and drops his Spirit (2/12).

Once they've been taken care of, go through the door and on your left up a hill is a structure with a chest. Turn 180 and go the other way from the door, up a small path to another chest, then drop down into the ravine for a Jade.
Travel back to the shrine or walk there from here.

We're going to go through some doors we didn't open earlier to a boss and a MISSABLE Spirit. It's a double boss and we must kill the smaller of the 2 first. This makes the fight harder but we get a Spirit.
From the shrine, left over the bridge, right over the hill, left into the village to a Rat. Keep along the right edge, kill another Rat, stick to the right and reach the doors.
Chapter 2 - II
Inside is the boss fight and our missable Spirit. You can damage the bigger one but kill the smaller one first.
Receive the Pungent Flesh Chunk, journal entry Royal Family of Flowing Sands (3/9) and absorb his Spirit (3/12).
Ahead are doors we can't open yet, a golden trail to the left and on the right is one path across a bridge and one down to a pool of water, go down here (or quickly stop by the nearby shrine) to find 3 Croaky, 2 Lotus and a Jade. Head back up to the new shrine 'Valley of Despair'. Equip the Wandering Wight transformation for this next section.

Continue on this path into a cave. Ahead are a Rat soldier and archer and, on the left, before the wooden scaffolding a Lingzhi. Go straight and towards a wooden structure on the right to spot a glowing golden pot. To get to it, keep going forward and drop off the edge. Turn right and go up the path. Break the pot for an Awakening Wine Worm. Turn around and go back, climb the rocks ahead to a new enemy type Blazebone (6/15).
Drop down behind him and go up a bridge to your right to another. Drop off this bridge to a new plant Fire Bellflower. Follow the only route out to another Bellflower and finally to the rocks we climbed. Jump down from them, instead of right to the bridge look to your left to an area bathed in sunlight. Walk to the end and interact for a boss. Defeat for Chief entry First Prince of Flowing Sands (4/9) and

Cursed Clan A whole nest of rats scatters and falls. Defeating the three royal Rat members

On the left side of this arena is a decorative wall. If it didn't get hit during that fight, stand right next to it, aim in the middle and use the Wandering Wight spirit to crack the wall. Head through and open the chest for an item that grants us access to secret areas, including the final section to Chapter 1. Leave and head back to the bridge. On the left after crossing a Licorice. Continue and squeeze through a crack. Defeat new enemy Swift Bat (7/15) and absorb it's Spirit (4/12)

Opposite where we entered is a breakable fence. Go through, Jade on the left. 2 Bat ambush ahead. Take first left for a Lingzhi then the other path for a Stamina upgrade!
Exit here and take the cave exit. Ginseng ahead and further down the path is a Licorice on the left. New shrine 'Temple Entrance'.

Ahead is a boss that is considered a bit of a skill check for new players. He is fast and hits hard. He'll teach you to be patient, to dodge, to find openings to attack. You're welcome to try him now if you want, he's fun when the fight clicks. For the sake of an easier time we will take a different path, gear up, level up and come back as this Chapter has various routes you can take.
First, head towards the temple entrance and keep going past for Ginseng.
Go up the steps and take the 2nd right for a chest. Back to the steps, start going up and take the left for a Meditation Spot (2/6).
Let's wrap up Chapter 1. Travel to 'Outside the Forest'.

Go straight, at the 2 Wolves take the left. Open the map and we are aiming for the waterfall. If in doubt keep hugging the left, reach the water and interact with the waterfall.
Enter and defeat the boss. Our final journal entry of Chapter 1: Red Loong (5/5) and

Cage of Claws Smoke rises high, his doom shall arrive. Defeat Red Loong

Open the chest. Receive the curio Boshan Censer (1/5) and an item that allows us to craft the weapon Loongwreath Staff (1/3).

Travel back to Chapter 2 'Valley of Despair' Turn 90 degrees to your right and see a bridge in the distance. Cross over and at the end is Licorice. Down the path, on your left is Will and on the right a new entry Pitstone (8/15). Blocking the exit is another entry Spearbone (9/15). Take the exit.

Fright Cliff
Climb the rocks on your left for Ginseng. Ahead are 2 enemies. Keep the cliff on your left and notice a statue head with glowing eyes you can interact with for Buddha's Eyeball (1/6). Further up on the left is the shrine 'Squall Hideout'.

Exit the shrine and face it. Turn 180 and look slightly to your left, ahead is Licorice. From here, look left 90 and begin to head up this hill. A gauntlet of enemies including new entry Palestone (10/15). Keep going up this path and at the end is a chest. Turn around and head back out sticking to the right cliff side, follow it as it turns to spot a Spearbone.

To the right of them, up on the wooden walkways is a chest and 3 Blazebone. Next to the last one is a Buddha's Eyeball (2/6).
Head back down to where we fought the Spearbone and go to the short bridge. Drop off the left for Ginseng. Turn right from here and down the path for entry Poisestone (11/15).
Continue to the end and interact with the Stone. Turn around and head out, keeping on the right side. The path turns right and up towards an enemy. Straight after them for a Bellflower and enemy. Continue, on the right is the bridge we dropped off but we go left and up to hear, and then see, the next Buddha's Eyeball (3/6).

Forward and straight, we will explore the caves to the left soon. A Lingzhi, followed by a Bellflower on the left and Spearbone. A Poisestone on the left may also notice you. After, keep heading straight, no into the caves. As the next shrine comes into view, on your left will be an ambush and a Jade. Go to new shrine 'Rockrest Flat'.

Travel back to 'Squall Hideout' and let's explore the caves. Facing the shrine, look left to a brazier and a gate in the distance. Before it will be an ambush including a Blazebone we can't reach. Under their platform is an area with Will. The plant is a Ginsengling fight.
Go through the gate and stick right for an enemy. Head up this path and look right for a chest. Turn 180 and up the hill is another enemy and beyond them a chest. Head back down sticking to the right until it splits. To the right is a Will, we go left to 2 enemies and Buddha's Eyeball (4/6).

Return to the Will, continue on to 3 enemies and in front of the raised wooden platform is a Lotus. On the right is where we were earlier, go left to Will. Turn 90 degrees right and head towards the light. On the left as you exit is Lingzhi and ahead is the shrine and, if you look right from there there's a Bellflower.

Use the shrine, 180 and back into the cave, after the first tree on the right jump up on the rocks and go up this new path. A Bellflower and further up some Will. You'll be ambushed by 2 Poisestone including a stronger one that drops it's Spirit (5/12).
Keep going up and attack the glowing blue Stone at the end for boss fight and entry Mother of Stones (5/9).

Turn 180 from this boss, head towards the light and out here for Buddha's Eyeball (5/6).
Go to 'Squall Hideout'. From the shrine go around the right and ahead, we are aiming for under the bridge to the Stone we spoke to earlier (you can see him on the map). As you get to him, you'll be put in a fight. Afterwards, interact with him to get the Azure Dust spell, the entry Man-In-Stone (1/5) as well as

Sound in Stone No words of kind. Pay them no mind. Completing the Man-In-Stone questline
Chapter 2 - III
You can talk to him. Travel back to 'Squall Hideout' then run back to him to access his Store.
Buy the Iron Pellet soak (3/7) and the Goldflora Hairpin curio (2/5) for quite a lot of Will. If you don't have enough now you can return later.

Travel to 'Rockrest Flat'. Go left from it to some enemies and on your left Buddha's Eyeball (6/6). Continue forward, don't take the left turn, go straight ahead to a Spearbone. Beyond him is a breakable wooden fence. Ahead you'll see an NPC, first stick to the left for a Bellflower and then a Jade. Stick to the left and go around the rock and go forward to a Meditation Spot (3/6) in front of a tree.

Behind that tree by the edge a Jade. Turn around and go forward past the tree, keep going and keep your eyes on your left. Hidden behind a rock is a Ginsengling. Continue and before turning right to the NPC, take a left and go up the path, on the right is Licorice.
Now talk to the NPC. Speak until they repeat.

Exit where we came in and stick to the left killing 3 enemies. Go left up the steps to a tougher Spearbone who drops a Spirit (6/12). Head up and interact. We have a few choices now in where to go so if you're struggling with any boss, try another section and come back.
Enter for a boss. When he goes to repeatedly slam the ground you can just chill on top of a rock.
Receive the entry Black Loong (1/6) and

Death in Despair Resonant waves profound, he is now buried in the ground. Defeating Black Loong

Head up the steps to a chest with the curio Tridacna Pendant (3/5). Travel back to 'Rockrest Flat'. Go left towards the statue head and pass it, turn left when you can into an arena. You may notice a big rock on the left you can interact with but don't do that yet. Go straight ahead to another boss. Get the entry Stone Vanguard (2/6) and

The Stone's Secret The odd boulder has something curious inside. Defeating the Stone Vanguard

We will come back to that rock later via another route. Take the exit opposite where we came in from to a shrine 'Rock Clash Platform'. Here we can craft new armours.
Galeguard Beast Mask (1/11), Galeguard Beastmaw Armor (2/11), Galeguard Bracers (3/11) and Galeguard Greaves (4/11).

Continue towards the buildings and take the left to fight 3 Withered Corpse (12/15) and Ginsengling.
Exit and go left towards a tougher Rat Governor and his Spirit (7/12). Beyond him is Meditation Spot (4/6).

Turn around and back up the steps, look out on your left for a chest with a Mana upgrade. Go left from here and down the path to an edge. Dropping down here on to the sand will put you into a sliding section. Try to stick to the left to reach a platform with lots of archers, a Jade, a chest of materials and Will, but don't worry too much if you miss it. Slide down to the end for a scene.

After receiving new spell A Pluck of Many, activate the shrine 'Windseal Gate'.
Head all the way back to 'Temple Entrance'. We're a bit more geared up now, with a few more options, time to tackle the boss.
Climb the steps to the boss, defeat him for new spell Rock Solid and entry Tiger Vanguard (3/6) and Headless Monk (2/5).

Go behind the broken statue and down the steps, go right for a Jade. Now 180 and head straight and slightly to the right to the other side for a Lingzhiling. Go right from that to a Ginseng behind the big rock.
Up the steps ahead for 2 enemies and a chest on the right with the soak Copper Pill 4/7.
Continue up past more enemies to shrine 'Windrest Bridge'

Yellow Wind Formation
Cross the bridge defeating the enemies and at the end climb up the rocks on the right towards 2 more. Stay on this right hand side and follow the wall as it turns right to 2 enemies. Inside the building on the right is a Will. As you exit this building, look ahead and to the right for Bellflower. It was here I was attacked by a new enemy but they may be walking somewhere else for you. You'll bump into them soon, Rat Imperial Guard (13/15).

Facing where the Bellflower was, turn 90 degrees left and walk forward a bit until you can turn right and walk between the buildings to a small area with an ambush and a chest. Exit and turn right, let's explore the other side now. Go up the steps and at the top, enter the building on the left for a chest. Exit and go left to 2 enemies and a Will. Turn 180 from here, head back and take the steps on the left.

In this area are a bunch of enemies. After taking them out, from where we entered, head left for a Bellflower and, in a glowing pot, a Sobering Stone. Now take the other exit, down some steps to be behind a Blazebone. On the left is an upper path and lower path with a Spearbone.
Take the upper path to some rats and a chest. Return and take the lower path, defeating enemies along the way. Careful as you get to the top as there are 3 Rat Imperial Guards with one being stronger and dropping a Spirit (8/12).

At the top are closed doors ahead, look left and in this area are enemies, Licorice and Will.
Cross over to the right hand side, on your right Licorice. Stick to the right to a Blazebone and Bellflower.
Turn around, head out and turn right, go straight to the wall opposite. Turn left to see an enemy and, slightly more to the left, an entrance into a building with a chest. Behind that enemy is Ginseng. Turn left, go forward, turning right to the doors and open them.

As soon as you cross through, look right and pick the Luojia Vine. Look left for a plant that's actually a Lingzhiling. Head up the path but stick to the left to find Will. Continue up the main path to a Bellflower on the left and a new shrine 'Windrest Hamlet'.
Cross the bridge defeating the enemies, in the building on the right is Will. Back on the path to a Bellflower on the left. Continue down and around the corner, ahead will be a chest.
Turn left towards the bridge, Bellflower on the left.

On the bridge we fight a boss and gain a key item used to reach a secret area in this Chapter. We get entry Tiger's Acolyte (6/9) as well as his Spirit (9/12).
Cross the bridge and go up the steps to a Lingzhi. Go through defeating enemies and on your right by a stone pillar is a box containing the curio Glazed Reliquary (4/5).
Continue through the cave, once back outside on the right is Licorice and ahead you can jump down. This is where we fought the Stone Vanguard, this was another route you could have taken to it.

Let's do the Buddha's Eye secret boss here now. Jump down and walk back (or fast travel) to 'Rockrest Flat' to rest up before returning to this arena. As you enter from the shrine side, look to your left and interact with the big rock. Defeat the boss for entry Shigandang (4/6), our second Skandha and

Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hûm Search each Buddha's head; in this perilous land, stones reside. Completing the Buddha's Eyeball quest
Chapter 2 - IV
Now we have the Old Rattle-Drum we can go to a secret area. Travel to 'Windrest Hamlet'. Notice at the shrine we can now craft the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff (2/3).
Turn around and go down the path and through the doors, turn left and in this area use the drum when prompted.
Travel to 'Valley of Despair' turn around and head to the boss arena. Go to the big locked doors and we can now open them.

Walk forward down the steps to an enemy. Don't cross the bridge, head to the right to a small area and new entry Weasel Captain (14/15) x3. Before going under the buildings, on your right is Jade. Go under now and use the drum. Defeat the enemies, loot the chest and pick the plant to fight a Ginsengling.

Return to the bridge and cross it. At the end is a Bellflower and Weasel. Ahead is Licorice. Further ahead in front of a tree is a mini boss. Defeat them for entry Gore-Eye Doaist (7/9) and Spirit (10/12).
Pick the Luojia Vine from the tree and look left, go to the end for an enemy and a Lingzhiling. Turn around and head back, take the right turn towards the sun.

Walk down here to grab a Jade and further down a Will. Continue down to find a shrine that we got earlier, we came here from the other side after sliding down the sand.
Let's take a moment to travel to 'Marsh of White Mist' in Chapter 1 and upgrade the gourd (if you hadn't already). Head to Shen Monkey and upgrade the Gourd as well as the Drink.
Travel back to Chapter 2 'Village Entrance'.

Look left, cross the bridge, go up towards the Rat and go through the gate. Turn left and head to the back corner here towards a well, use the drum. Enter and defeat the boss for entry Mad Tiger (8/9) and his Spirit (11/12) and

Buried in the Sand The tiger, the child, both lost in the wild. Completing the Old Rattle-Drum quest

At the back is a chest containing the Plaguebane Gourd (5/7). Outside the cave is shrine 'Bottom of the Well'. Travel to 'Rockrest Flat'. Turn left towards the statue head and straight, past the Spearbone and beyond the fence to the NPC from earlier. Deliver the Sobering Stone and exhaust his dialogue.
Travel to 'Temple Entrance' and head up the steps. Take the third right and speak to him again until he repeats himself. Return to 'Rockrest Flat' and back to where we first met him. This time he is up on the right path, fight him for entry Yellow-Robed Squire (3/5) and Snout Mask (5/11).
Follow him through the doors.

Gleams of Gold The drunk said there’s gold here. Do you believe him? Completing the Drunken Boar quest

Kingdom of Sahali
Head up to shrine 'Sandgate Pass'. Continue to see our next boss and on the right just before his arena is Licorice.
Defeat him for entry Tiger Vanguard (9/9), curio Tiger Tally (5/5) and

The Tiger Family The brothers and their father. You’ve met them all. Defeating the Tiger bosses

Speak to him and continue on, instead of going to the shrine, turn right and follow the cliff. Go over the sand dune and at the end is a tree and rock, behind the rock is a chest. Turn right from here, go forward and drop off the edge to a Licorice. Turn left, head up the path and back to where we entered. This time take the other side and see Licorice. Continue this way, sticking to the cliff side on the left. In the structure, a chest. Keep going, picking Licorice and at the end on the cliff edge overlooking the arena is a Meditation Spot (5/6).

Now activate the shrine 'Sandgate Bound'. Speak to the NPC on the cliff edge ahead behind the shrine. Go down and defeat the boss for

Shifting Sands The beetle came with drumbeats’ call, and left with waves’ gentle fall. Defeating the boss in Kingdom of Sahali

Receive the Vessel Wind Tamer, useful against the final boss of Chapter 2 and entries Fuban (5/6) and Bodhisattva Lingji (4/5).

Visit the Stone Merchant near 'Squall Hideout' if you couldn't afford the curio before.
Travel to 'Temple Entrance', head up the steps to the boss arena and interact with the switch at the top of the steps on the statue. Enter this new area and head through defeating the Corpses. On your left will be a chest with a Health upgrade.

Continue on for a group of enemies, entry Civet Sergeant (15/15) including a stronger one that drops a Spirit (12/12). Continue and spot a chest on the right, exit the cave ahead and notice you can drop down to another sliding sand section. Before dropping, look ahead and notice a chest we want.
We have to drop to the sand, slide a bit until closer to the platform and jump followed by a heavy attack to get enough height to reach it. If you miss, travel back to the last shrine and run through the cave to here again. It might take a few tries but when you do, open the chest for soak Tiger Relic (6/7). Hopefully by now you also received a soak from picking Licorice, Goat Skull (7/7). If not we have more opportunities ahead and we can always farm it later if needed.

Slide down to shrine 'Cellar'. We have access to new armour. Monastic Insect Hat (6/11), Insect Spike Bracers (7/11), Insect Spike Gaiters (8/11).
Turn right and head towards the back for a familiar face. Select Talk for

Precious Pills In furnace there is fire, and in fire there are pills. Talk to Xu Dog and receive Pills

Use the Store and buy formula Longevity Decoction (2/2).
Go to Make Medicines. Mortal Medicines are the normal ones we can craft but Celestial Medicines is where we can spend the Mind Cores we've been collecting. This is another way to boost stats.
Get journal entry Xu Dog (5/5).

Go back to the shrine and follow the path down to a split. Left is the boss, go right first. Head straight, up steps and all the way to the end for Jade, Meditation Spot (6/6) and another familiar face. Exhaust his dialogue.
Before we take the other path let's do one more thing. Travel to 'Windseal Gate', make sure you have the new Vessel equipped and open the big doors. We were just here but on the other side. Go down and right to the final boss. Use the Vessel to dispel the sandstorms.

A Great Gust There will be more sages if their maker still engages. Defeat the final boss of Chapter 2

Watch the cutscenes and congratulations on finishing Chapter 2!
Chapter 3 - I
Start in a fight with a Supporter Monk (1/21).
When defeated, pause and notice we have an entry for Chapter 2's final boss Yellow Wind Sage (6/6) as well as unlocking his weapon Rat Sage Staff (3/3) to craft. Finally we can also select Relic to pick a new upgrade.

Follow the path and, in the next room, a new enemy will swoop down at you. Cyan Bat (2/21). You'll see another Monk in front of a chest and a Lotus in the water to the right. Continue on to another Bat and a Will. Exit the cave.

Snowhill Path
Before using the shrine, go left for Gentian and right for Gentian.
Activate the shrine 'Frost-Clad Path'. In Craft we can make the armour from the Chapter 2 final boss and cross those off.
Ochre Battlerobe (9/11), Ochre Armguard (10/11) and Ochre Greaves (11/11).
Go the the Store and buy the map for this Chapter. Notice we can also buy some Mind Cores, worth doing when you have excess Will, they will still randomly drop from enemies too.

Continue up the path for a scene and entry Frozen Corpse (3/21). Walk to the front of the building and go round the left side for Gentian. Go back where we came and take a left, curving round behind the building. Kill the corpses, on the right is Gentian and at the top by a stone pillar is Will.
These corpses have a chance to drop a curio, Mani Bead, which dropped for me here. There is a good spot to farm it soon.

Turn around and take the right up the hill to be just beyond the building. Continue up the main path, using lock-on to work out what needs to be killed. At the top you'll be in a boss fight.
Follow the path and when you reach a Bat by some steps up, look to your left for a small area you can climb up for a chest. Now head up the big steps.

Through the gate and immediately on your left are steps up. Go straight first, take care of the Bat and Yaksha Patroller (4/21) before grabbing Will.
Return to those wooden steps, at the top is an ambush and on the right a Will.
Ahead is a corpse in the snow praying, leave him for now and go down the stairs on the left. You will fight corpses and a tougher Patroller who drops a Spirit (1/14).

Go to the building at the back and up the steps, take a left to a chest. Come back down and as you reach the last step, look ahead and right to the red walls, in the this corner is a Ginsengling.
Now head back up the stairs where we entered this area and look left for the praying corpse we left earlier. Kill them and head down the path to the bridge. Cross it and before reaching the end, look to the right and jump off. Go straight to a Bellflower. Return to the start of the bridge and go left for a structure with a Bat and chest. Look right from the chest and drop to the water for Lotus.
I climbed the rocks ahead hoping to reach a small area to the left but triggered a scene. We can come back to that area later.

After the scene we will be by new shrine 'Mirrormere'. I travelled back to finish off that section, it's nothing too important so don't worry if you don't want to backtrack here.
Travel to 'Frost-Clad Path', follow the path all the way up, up the steps and through the gate, left up the step, down the path by the praying corpse and over the bridge. At the tree ahead, turn left and cross another bridge to a few enemies and Will.
Return to 'Mirrormere'.

Head towards the lake and big tree. On the left of the tree is Meditation Spot (1/5).
Don't go on the lake just yet, turn right and follow the edge of the lake. On your right you'll spot a thinner tree and under it, a Corpse and Gentian. Head this way until you hit the cliff side. Turn right and towards a big tree and Corpses, further up ahead is new plant Celestial Pear.

Keep the cliffside on your left and follow for Bellflower. Look 90 degrees to your right for a fallen tree, go on the other side of this for a Bat and Bellflower.
Return to the shrine. Facing it, turn 180 and head to the tree. Beyond it is Ginseng. Return to that tree before you went ahead for Ginseng and instead turn 90 degrees right and spot Gentian. From here, turn slightly left and go towards a tree for Gentian.
Go behind this tree and rock and head towards the cliffside and by a tree is a Gensengling.

Look in the direction of the lake to see a bunch of Frozen Corpses. Go them, defeating the living ones and at the lake edge is a chest. This is a good spot to farm the curio I mentioned before, so keep resting at the shrine and coming here until one drops it, Mani Bead (1/11).

Now we can head to the building on the lake. Defeat a boss and be taken to a new area.

Pagoda Realm
Pause and read ahead about a missable curio. You'll have received an entry for the last boss Kang-Jin Loong (1/5).
In this area there is a mechanic that is on a timer and at certain intervals will trigger and things will change. It's obvious when it's happening because the middle will spin like mad, the music changes, the colour fades, everything gets red eyes and it feels oppressive. Your health bar shrinks but you do a lot more damage, as do the enemies.
There is a specific enemy that only appears in this 'curse' mode and we need to kill all 9 of them before the boss to get a MISSABLE curio. Just follow the guide and we will get them all.

Exit your cell and take in this huge prison. The next cell will be sealed, later on we will be able to open these locked doors. The next cell has a Mushroom and WIll.
Keep going to an enemy, it was here that the 'curse' kicked in and 2 of the 9 missable enemies will materialise on this outer path.
Try to kill them both, if you fail or the 'curse' runs out, head forward to the next shrine and wait for it to trigger again so you can run back and take them out. They also give new entry Lantern Warden (5/21). That's 2/9 Lanterns.
Beyond them is a locked cell and at the end is shrine 'Lower Pagoda'.
Notice we can now craft the Kang-Jin Staff (1/4).

Continue on to a Mushroom and a corpse, ahead is an ambush including Yaksha Archer (6/21). Ahead is another Mushroom, don't take the right exit and keep going straight. Ambush by Starved Abomination (7/21). Take the second exit here instead. Don't go right, we will get there from another route. Go left instead but wait for the 'curse' to kick in and defeat 2 more Lanterns which will be 4 out of the 9.

The first cell on the left is open, go in and turn left for an ambush and Will. Turn around and go to the wall on the other side and exit right. Go left and carry on. Enter the next open cell. Turn left and through the gate for a Blade Monk (8/21) and a chest. Turn around and exit. Notice a ramp up on the left. Go to the right of it for a Fungiling and, further ahead, an enemy in front of a chest with curio Fine China Tea Bowl (2/11).

Now head up that ramp, defeat the enemies, pick the new plant Monkey-Head Fungus and exit killing the enemy. We can go left or right, right first. First cell has Will. The second cell has an ambush. Third cell is locked and an ambush which can knock you off the edge if you're not careful.
Cross the beam ahead and take out the enemies. Grab the Will directly ahead then continue on the path. Fight an enemy, go through a gate to be ambushed from the right then 2 more enemies on the left including Enslaved Yaksha (9/21).
Where he was, notice a metal fence on the edge and look to the left side of it for a gap. Look over the edge for an archer and below him, 2 enemies and Will. Drop down to take care of them all.
Chapter 3 - II
This is back on the floor below so follow the outer path again and near the end take a left to find the ramp up again. Take it up and at the top go right and cross the beam again. Go back through to where we jumped down and this time go straight through a gate.

You'll notice another ramp on your right. Keep going straight for Mushroom. Straight on for Will. Turn around and go back one room, take the exit on the right for an enemy and look left. Here is a tough enemy plus an annoying archer (that you can just about jump to). Take them both out for Red-Haired Yaksha (10/21) and loot the chest.

Now go back to the ramp on this level and take it up. At the top is another Red-Haired and the familiar golden trial. Activate the shrine 'Upper Pagoda'. Go left, there's a locked cell and beyond that an ambush. Wait around here for the 'curse' to kick in and take on another Lantern, this will be number 5 of 9. Head back to the shrine and rest. Turn 180 and walk forward to see a hole you can drop down into. Down here is a boss you will defeat for entry Captain Lotus-Vision (1/12) and the curio Frostsprout Twig (3/11).
Absorb their Spirit, this one is a key item.

We now have the ability to open the locked cells. Exit here the only way you can and find yourself near the wooden beam again. Cross it, follow the path, don't go up the ramp and head all the way to the end. Take the exit on the left. Look right and over the edge to a platform with a Will and then drop down again to be outside where we started.

Open the cell next to ours. Go in and talk to the NPC, speak to him until he repeats. Next to him will be a 2-Headed Rat corpse. Remember the voices we spoke to in the small hut in Chapter 2? Yeah...
If it's not there then you didn't exhaust their dialogue in Chapter 2 but luckily you can head back there now and do it ('Village Entrance' > head to village and up the hill to the small hut to speak).
Interact with the corpse to get a new spell Ashen Slumber.

Thousand Mile Quest Oh woe, oh woe, long trails they did go. Completing the Two-Headed Rat quest and getting the spell

Head towards the shrine on this bottom level and there will be a cell on the left we can now open with an enemy and a chest. Go to the ramp and head up. Exit at the top and go right. The third cell on the right can now be opened and inside is a stronger Enslaved Yaksha that drops a Spirit (2/14) and in the corner is a chest.

Exit and turn left, run all the way back, let's finish this floor up. Run past where we came in via the ramp. First cell on the left has a chest. Further on is a hole you can jump down to 2 enemies. Open the nearby gate and face a Red-Haired to reach a chest. Turn around and head the other way to the end and climb the rocks. At the top is Will and if you drop down you're back outside the starting cell.

Travel to 'Upper Pagoda'. First cell on your left has a Bat and a chest. Continue you on to another wooden beam/bridge. This spot is annoying, there are archers and half way across is an ambush that can very easily knock you off so be careful. I'd recommend using Cloud Step and running straight across to save the pain of being knocked off over and over. However, if you do kill them they won't respawn.

Two choices now. Ahead, 3 more Lanterns will spawn, spaced out along this outer path all the way to the end. We can patiently wait for the 'curse' and take them all out or continue exploring and when the 'curse' kicks in, be ready to head out and face them as you go.

Take a left after the bridge. In here look left and fight the Mushroom that drops a Spirit (3/14). Further along this way are archers, a Red-Haired and a Will.
Turn around and head back and go straight. Notice a ramp going up on your left. Instead, keep going straight and exit, walking down this outer path. Cell on your left has Mushroom. The next cell has an enemy and the next one has Will. We can open the next cell for more Will.
The final cell has a door to open that will lead to enemies, a chest and Will. You can walk off the edge here but we did this part already earlier.

If you didn't get the 3 Lanterns on this level then wait around here until you do. That will be 8 of the 9, one more to go.
Take the ramp on this level up to the next. At the top go straight ahead to a Monk and a chest. Now come out of here and take the exit to the right, look right first for a Will, then take the left path where you'll come to another Will and a wooden ramp. Head up, being careful of the archer and at the top a Corpse.

Go left and activate new shrine 'Mani Wheel'. A boss is head, but we need to go and get that last Lantern. Return to the wooden ramp we just walked up and head to the other side this time. Walk to the end to fight the Falcon Fan-Maker (11/21).
Beyond where they appeared, by the edge, is a platform you can jump down to, followed by another. When you drop down, turn 180 and head down this way. Take the right, then turn right and follow the path to a chest and at the end, a Will.
Exit right and look right to make sure you're not about to be ambushed by a Yaksha. Take care of him, or ignore him and head left instead. Open the first cell for a Yaksha and a chest. Further on will be a stronger Monk who drops a Spirit (4/14), a glowing pot with an Awakening Wine Worm and wait around here for the 9th and final Lantern. Once you kill it you get the curio Auspicious Lantern (4/11).
If you didn't get it then you missed a Lantern somewhere and need to go back before continuing as it will become missable after the next section.

Travel back to 'Mani Wheel'. Cross the bridge and face the boss.

Voice Vanquished Red eyes mark wrong charts. The scripture needs amends. Defeating the boss of Pagoda Realm

Gain entry Captain Wise-Voice (2/5), absorb his Spirit and exit.
Cross the bridge and at the end, turn right for Will. Return to bridge and take the left side for a chest. Now up the main path to shrine 'Outside the Wheel'.
Travel back to 'Mirrormere' and head to the lake. Turn right and follow the edge of it. After running for a while, you'll see a small island with one tree, on the lake in the distance. Run to it and in front of the tree is a chest containing the soak Stranded Loong's Whisker (1/11).

Return to 'Outside the Wheel'. Head up and enter the water. On the right is a Lotus and at the back left is a Lotus and Luojia Vine.
Follow the path, eventually a Bellflower and further up a Will. Further along is a chest with a Mana upgrade. Go behind this chest and fence to reach an enemy and Meditation Spot (2/5).

Head out of this place and carry on. After an enemy you can go left or, right up a raised area. Go right and up to find a new plant Tree Pearl. Turn around, go back down and take the other path. Face an enemy in front of Gentian.
Follow the path to steps up, a Will and new shrine 'Snow-Veiled Trail'.
At the split, go right and down, to a bridge. Cross it and take a sharp right to a Pearl. Return to the end of the bridge and you should see a Will ahead.
Continue up the main path, fight corpses and look out for Gentian on the right.
Now run all the way up to the big pagoda and enter. Activate the shrine 'The Great Pagoda'. This is for much, much later in the game and we activate it now for ease later on.
Chapter 3 - III
If you hadn't already been doing it, travel back to Chapter 1 and visit Shen Monkey to make any upgrades to your Gourd! Stick with upgrading your main Gourd and Drink.
You can buy Jade Lotus Gourd (2/11), Thunderbolt Horn (3/11) and some materials.

Return to 'Snow-Veiled Trail' and take the left path up now. On the left Gentian. Stick to the right as it opens up, following the frozen corpses. Follow the golden trail up the steps to new shrine 'Warding Temple'.

Go back down the steps and at the bottom turn left and go this way. At the split first go left to an enemy and chest, then right to find a Bellflower and Will. Return to the bottom of those steps and go straight over to the frozen corpses. Ahead of you are rocks, climb up and go round them to find a Pearl. Turn 180 from this tree and drop off the edge. Go up the hill sticking to the right side of the cliff face.

Find new enemy Golden Lotus Guai (12/21) and by the tree behind them Ginseng. These Golden Lotus can drop a seed. They don't appear as much as the plants so are harder to farm. There is a better spot later on I will point out.

Keep the cliff side on your right and follow to a Pearl. Further up another Golden Lotus and to the right, in front of a tree, Gentian. Just up from here on the left is a Ginsengling. Now we'll go down the hill but on the other side. Turn around, head down and keep the cliff side on your right.

There is a Will next to a tree. Around here you'll likely be ambushed by a Falcon and Yaksha. Keep going down past lots of corpses to Will. Look to the left of this and climb up the rocks that kind of look like steps, up here you'll be attacked but notice the fallen tree in front of you. Facing this, look off to the left in the distance to see a chest.

From the chest turn 90 degrees left. In the distance, roughly in the middle of the screen will be a darker tree (and 2 closer, snow covered ones either side). Head towards the darker tree, go around the right side of it and find a Bellflower next to a rock. Now head up the hill killing anything you missed.
Follow the path for a tougher Falcon and absorb his Spirit (5/14).

Continue on, cross a bridge, head up and find a chest. Further up on the right is Pear. Follow the path for a while, dropping down outside the temple near the last shrine. Go to it, rest and get ready for a fight. Head up and before heading through the doors, go right and find Will.
After the fight, gain new spell Ring of Fire.

Round the corner is a chest on the right. Head along the path and eventually at the top of a hill is a Bellflower. Ahead is a sliding section and after a cutscene you'll be in a boss fight.
If you die, you'll respawn nearby a new shrine 'Turtle Island'.
Run back up to the boss and defeat for entry Kang-Jin Star (3/5) and

Karma of Kang-Jin Now one less dwells in the dome stars. Defeat Kang-Jin Star

If you managed to beat them first time then, well done! But you'll need to head back and activate the 'Turtle Island' shrine in the South West portion of the map.
First of all, listen to your new friend and when he leaves, turn around and head back to the shrine.

Even though this area is quite small, directions for this place would be long and confusing.
Therefore I'll direct you to upgrades, chests and another boss and then it's up to you if you want to try and explore the rest which consists of Will, some plants and easy enemies.
The other boss is in the South East area so leave that for now. They will be standing at the edge looking out to sea.

At the shrine we can make new armour after the last fight; Loongscale Battlerobe (1/11), Loongscale Armguard (2/11), Loongscale Greaves (3/11).

Facing the shrine, look 90 degrees to your left and walk forward, drop down twice to a chest with a Health upgrade.
Turn left from the chest and head to 2 Corpses, further up are 2 more. From these 2, turn left and make a long drop down. Turn right and go along the path, between the stone walls to a chest. Carry on this path and after 2 Bats is a Will on the left and ahead on the right you can pick a Pearl.
Keep following this path and at the end you'll reach a chest. Turn around to see the Golden Lotus above us, we can jump to it.

Travel back to 'Turtle Island'. Walk up to where we fought the boss. Instead of going straight down the middle between the high rocks, look to your right and go between 2 rocks here where there is a Will. Head through here and as you exit, keep left towards a Golden Lotus. Look right and go down one platform to another Golden Lotus and a Bat. Looking at the edge, turn left and go between 2 small rocks to a chest.......like I said, directions here are long and confusing considering it's a small area.

One last thing before the boss, the run we just did is the best place to farm for the Golden Lotus seed as this enemy doesn't appear later as often as the other plants. I got it on my second run but it might take you longer. Feel free to farm it later when we have a curio that increases drop chance.
Here again is the route to take:
From the shrine, head back to where we fought the boss, look right and take the path between the rocks that had a Will on it. As you exit, keep left and ahead is Golden Lotus #1. Look right and down on the next platform along with a Bat is GL #2. Look left from the edge and go between the rocks ahead (where the last chest was) and to the right will be GL #3. Behind this one is also a Ginsengling. Back to the shrine and repeat, hopefully you got your Golden Lotus Seed.

Travel to 'Turtle Island'. Now we turn right and head for the South East section to face another boss. Defeat them for

Boundless Bitterness Evening light on snow, rigidity ends in woe. Defeat Cyan Loong

Entry Cyan Long (4/5). Opposite where he was standing originally is a chest in some water. Inside is special material and a soak Breath of Fire (4/11).
Back at the shrine we have unlocked Golden Loong Staff (2/4).
Head all the way to the front of the Turtle and speak to our friend.

Bitter Lake
Walk forward to shrine 'North Shore of the Bitter Lake'.
Look right and head to the edge of the water and follow it along. You'll see some huge bones. Also an enemy in front of a chest on the right. You should gain the entry , if not now then soon enough.
Further ahead on the left are some enemies in front of a Pear Tree. Keep moving forward, with the water on your right, gaining the entry Censer Holder (13/21) and go under a skeletal archway.

Face a boss and gain entry Apramana Bat (2/12). After the boss, interact with the huge skull to initiate a scene. New entry Turtle General (1/6).
Head back to where we were dropped off by the Turtle and pick up the green item for

Shell and Scales To die is as woeful as to live alone. Receive the Turtle Tear

And missable soak Turtle Tear (5/11).
Now keep the water on your left and let's follow it the other way. Ahead by some rocks is Will. Go right around this rock and then deeper into the water to face a mini boss.
After, you can talk if you wish. We need to visit Xu Dog but first go up to the house here. A Bellflower outside it and on the dock, a chest.
Chapter 3 - IV
To get to Xu Dog, we need to go to 'Cellar' in Chapter 2. Talk to him to get the item and formula Fortifying Medicament (1/4). Go to Store and buy Tonifying Decoction (2/4). Upgrade any Celestial Medicines you want then return to 'North Shore of the Bitter Lake' head left and deliver the item to the Loong. You will be in a new area.

Secret in the Scroll Near the hut the crops thrive; in the Painted Realm, their hearts lie. Reach Zodiac Village

This is a hub for your merchants!
Activate the shrine 'Village Entrance'. To get here in the future you open your map and press the button shown in the bottom left over the scroll.
Talk to Xu Dog and you'll be able to Request Medicine, do it every time you come here for free Pills.
To his left is Shen Monkey. Behind him is Chen Loong. He will take your seeds and plant them, you can harvest them on a timer. I'm not sure of the exact times but if you make a lot of medicines you will want to check if you can harvest every so often.

At this point in the game I had these seeds: Jade Lotus, Fragrant Jade Flower, Fire Bellflower, Licorice, Gentian and Golden Lotus (6/15). Hopefully you do too, or at least a few of them. By the end of the game we should have most, if not all, without much need for farming.
Speak to him and Deliver Seeds. This unlocks the option for Harvest but we have to give them time to grow.
Also here in his own area is a blacksmith. In the Store he sells materials. He can Craft armour and weapons and most importantly, he can Upgrade Armor.
At this point, it's probably worth upgrading whatever you're wearing by one level. Do it at least once to unlock

Pound and Perfect "Through fire, armor is refined; through trials, strength is defined." Upgrade your first armor piece

You can also Challenge him. He won't die if you beat him. I recommend coming back later when I mention it in the guide after gearing up some more as it's a tough fight but feel free to have a go at him now!

Travel to 'North Shore of the Bitter Lake'. We have unlocked entry Chen Loong (2/6). Turn left and run to where Chen was, by the house and dock. Stick to the cliff on your right and you'll find Gentian. Head to the red coloured temple behind.
As you pass through, look left and in the corner for Will. Walk the main path to find a man surrounded by Bats. Kill them all and speak to him until he repeats.

Facing him, take the left path to a chest then out onto the lake to grab Drink Bluebridge Romance (6/11).
Head back and take the right path from the man up the snowy hill. At the bottom on the left is a Pearl and at the top is Bellflower. From here walk down the other side to find we've looped back to near the shrine.

From the shrine, go right and follow the water's edge to where we found the Snake skeleton. Instead of going under the skeleton archway, we go left and make our way up this new path. After a few Corpses you'll face a Wolf Guardian (14/21). These can drop a curio, I'll point out a farming spot later on.

At the top of the steps you can go straight or take a left. Take the left to face a Bat and Falcon and pick a Luojia Vine. Exit and follow the main path. At the end, turn left and see a split. Take the left path up and at the end is a Ginsengling. Jump up the rocks to the left of him for a Will.
Drop down here and take the right path at the split. Face 2 Monks and loot a chest. At the end of the cave is Will. Drop down and take out the enemies.

From where we dropped down we can go left or right. Left is a path down that leads to the shrine, if we go down it sticking to the left cliffside, we come across Pearl and at the bottom Ginseng. Head back up the hill, up the steps and wooden walkways until you see the golden trail. It directs you straight ahead but look out for a path on your left. Go in, kill the corpses, loot the chest.

Follow the trail, cross the brdige to Will and shrine 'Precept Corridor'.
Head down and on the left in front of praying Corpses is Meditation Spot (3/5).
In a chest further down on the left is formula Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets (3/4).
Continue on the main path and at the split go right first for enemies and Will.
Now take the left and head up the steps. At the top you'll face a Red-Haired Yaksha that will drop a Spirit (6/14).
In the next area, head to the pavilion for a scene.

When we regain control, look left for our first Buddha to interact with. Turn 180 from here and walk forward for Will. Head down the steps here and, at the bottom on the right, the next Buddha. Turn 180 and go straight, turn left and follow this path to the next Buddha. Left from here and down into the building.
Follow the linear path taking out Monks. At the top is a Red-Haired in front of the final Buddha. Turn 180 and walk ahead. Before jumping over the wall back to the pavilion, look left for Will.

Return to the pavilion and speak to the NPC. Turn 90 degrees right and find a new staircase up. Up the first set of stairs is Ginseng and Will. Continue up to find Gentian. You'll pass under rocks, look right for Will and then take the left path. As you reach a flatter area look on the right for a chest.
On the main path, on the left is Pearl. At the end before taking the steps up, look behind the huge statue for Will. At the top of the steps, squeeze through, run up the stairs and activate shrine 'Mindfulness Cliff'.

Walk up to face a boss who runs away at half health. Turn around and go back down the wooden walkway, half way across look right over the edge to notice a Will on a stone pillar. Drop down, grab it and turn 180 and go the other way.
Follow this path up and once you reach a Golden Lotus you'll enter a cave with a chest on the right. Loot it for Fiery Gourd (7/11). Continue on for a scene and our 3rd Skandha. Grab the Will and drop down to where the last boss was.

Enter the cave and head up the steps. After facing 2 Monks, head out and look left for Bellflower. In the next room are a few enemies and a chest with the curio Maitreya's Orb (5/11). Continue on, back outside keep an eye on the left for Will.
Ahead is a small arena and the boss who ran. Finish him this time for entry Non-White (3/12). Absorb his Spirit (7/14). Also in this area is a Meditation Spot (4/5).
Drop off the ledge for a sliding section.

Valley of Ecstacy
Follow the gold trail to the new shrine, just before we reach it look right and just up the hill is Bellflower. Activate the shrine 'Forest of Felicity'.
This is another large area that can be confusing. I'll do my best to direct you in simple terms to everything, but I may have missed a plant here and there.

Facing the shrine, look left and interact with the corpse by the gate.
Gain new transformation and detransform. You can transform again if you use the Snow Brush item we just gained but it's pretty useless. We will use it later for this quest.
Face the shrine, look beyond it to see a path going down to the right. Follow it, Gentian on the right. At the bottom, spot Will by the lake ahead and in the water is Lotus.

Turn left from the water and go down this path. You'll notice a golden trail, a Bat in the trees and new entry Thunder Rhino Master (15/21). These can drop a curio, the best spot to farm will be pointed out later.
Follow the trail and activate new shrine 'Brook of Bliss'.
Chapter 3 - V
Turn left from the shrine and go this way. Ahead will be another Rhino and a Bellflower on the right. Follow the path as it curves right, as it does keep to the right and in front of a stone pillar you'll see 2 Corpse and a Rhino. In front of the pillar is a chest.
Move back down to the main path and someone is kneeling in the middle of an arena with their hands tied. This is a boss, defeat them for entry Non-Able (4/12) and absorb his Spirit (8/14).

Up by the building here is Bellflower. Turn around and, keeping the cliffside on your left, walk down to find another Bellflower. Turn right, keep the rocks on your left, and go ahead a bit to see Gentian and a Rhino. Go along the path beyond the Rhino and look on your left for Gentian. Turn left, walk forward a bit to find Bellflower and Will by an edge.
Drop down to 'Brook of Bliss'.

Facing the shrine, turn 180 and go across the bridge ahead and grab Will. Come back to the start and look over the right side of the bridge and jump down.
You'll see Pear, turn around and head up stream to find Pear and in the water Lotus. Head up the stream for Gentian, another Pear and in the water, Croaky and Lotus.

Turn around and head down stream and under the bridge. When you see a crow below you in the water, stay on the path for Gentian, go through the rocks to a Bat ambush, turn right into the water to pick up Will and Lotus.
Take on the tougher Crow and absorb it's Spirit (9/14). Another Lotus here.
Exit the water where we entered, instead of going right towards more of the water, go left and find a path going up with torches on either side. Go up and on your left will be the bridge we jumped off. Go ahead up the steps and turn right for a steep, snowy hill up. Follow along this path and eventually reach back at 'Forest of Felicity'.

Facing the shrine, 180 and walk towards the frozen corpses. Behind them is an entrance through the rocks and Will. On the other side is a big Frog. You know what to do, this one gives you entry Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang (5/12).
From where we came in here, turn right and head this way. On your left will be Ginseng and just up from that is a split.
Take the right between the rocks, as you exit immediately look left and go up the snowy bank rather than the flatter path. Go up and round to a Golden Lotus, keep heading up to the steps and at the top is a Falcon, a chest and Will. From the Will, drop down twice to be where we faced the big Frog.

Turn right and head back to the split. Take the left path this time and stick to the left side as it opens up and starts curving to the left. You'll see a Monk by a small stone pillar and water. Head to the water nearby for Lotus, then head to the back for another Lotus, a Crow and Will.
Turn around and follow the water to a waterfall, jump down another level. Follow the water, there's a Croaky, Lotus and Pearl. At the end is another Croaky and Lotus.

Get back onto land and here between several stone pillars will be a Monk, Corpses and new enemy that bangs a gong called Circus Monkey (16/21).
Walk down to see a golden trail and hear a voice. Follow it and on the left you'll find Will and then the source of the voice.
Head to new shrine 'Towers of Karma' and equip the spell Ring of Fire.

Facing the shrine, turn 180 and walk ahead to pick Pearl. Return to the man and cast Ring of Fire. Talk to him until his dialogue repeats. Return to the shrine and swap out Ring of Fire if needed. Look to the left and defeat new enemy for Dual-Blade Monk (17/21). They have a rare chance to drop a curio. This is the best spot to farm it because of the nearby shrine.
You might want to wait until they are easier to kill and we have the increased drop rate curio but I recommend just getting it out of the way now. It took me 27 kills.... On the flipside, I went up 2.5 levels, I got 4 Mind Cores and gained lots of Will, various pills and materials! I remember doing this on my first playthrough in end game with the drop rate curio and it took about as long to drop, the only difference being I could kill them much faster.
Just do it now. My strategy was to charge the Heavy Attack of Smash Stance to 3 focus points and run in to hit him with it. As he's recovering get more hits in and, if you're quick, you can get in a full combo of hits. This mixed with Immobilize and finishing him off with the Wandering Wight Spirit means you can take him down quickly still. You'll get the rhythm down for it.
After all that we get the curio Beast Buddha (6/11).

Go right from him and follow the path. Stick to the left and you'll find lots of Ginseng. There are 3x Ginseng, 2 Ginsengling and the one that's in the middle at the back is an even bigger version. Once defeated, you'll get entry Old Ginseng Guai (6/12).
He also drops the Ginseng Cape (4/11) and the Millennium Ginseng Seed.
Absorb his Spirit (10/14).

Behind the stone monument is the Drink Jade Essence (8/11). As you exit this area, keep on the left to see Will behind a fallen tree. Head through the gate and up the path to a Golden Lotus and, to it's right, a Pear. Turn around and go towards the Monk facing away from you. Kill it, go up and at the top is a Gentian on the left and Will on the right.

Travel to 'Brook of Bliss'. Turn 180 and go over the bridge. At the end turn right and go down to where we got the Crow Spirit. Go into the water ahead, sticking to the left for Lotus and, further down, another Lotus and 2 Croaky. Look to your right for a bell on it's side. Inside is an enemy and Will. On the edge of the cliff is a Corpse between 2 braziers. Kill it and drop off the edge. Make your way down, across the tree and down to shrine 'Watermelon Field'.

Walk into the cave for a scene followed by a boss fight. Defeat them for

Marvelous Melon A quirky man, a vanished melon patch; a marvelous spell, and an unexpected meeting. Complete the Treasure Hunter's quest

You'll gain new spell Spell Binder and the entry Green-Capped Martialist (3/6).
Travel to 'Forest of Felicity' shrine and walk the path ahead with the gates. You'll come across Bellflower on your left. At the top you can go straight ahead or left. Left is where the Ginseng boss was so go straight and through the gate. In this area, on the left under a tree, is a chest as well as a Corpse and Bat ambush.

Go ahead to the red coloured structure and when you reach the doors, 2 Wolf Guardians will drop down. This is the best spot to farm this curio. We'll get to that in a minute but keep it in mind.
First of all, go slowly through and straight ahead to lock onto a Corpse praying in front of a gravestone. Look slightly to the left and ahead for a 3rd Wolf on a rock, keeping them in mind for the farming. Look even more to the left for a big enemy! Before going up to it, turn 180 and go up the cliff side on the right to the roof of the structure where there is a Will.
Take out the giant, it won't respawn and gives you entry Dark-faced Overlord (18/21).

Head to the 3rd Wolf on the rock and find a chest. Facing the chest, turn 90 degrees right and spot Pearl. Keep walking this direction and ahead next to a tree Gentian. Stay close to the right side cliff and follow it up to Pearl. Look a little to the left now and see a huge body you can interact with. Receive the Spirit and entry for Captain Void-Illusion (7/12).
Chapter 3 - VI
Continue along to find a Crow in front of Will. Turn 180 and head back down towards a Golden Lotus. Jump down the rocks behind it and find a chest by a tree. Look slightly left to a golden trail and ahead of you on the path is Will. Keep going straight over the path to Pearl.
Now go and activate new shrine 'Longevity Road'.

Farming the Wolf Guardians from here for their curio is the best spot. We turn around and run back down the path, when the first Corpse attacks I Cloud Step and head to the Wolf on the rock, then we head right through the doors where we entered this area to take 2 more on. It took me 7 runs and when it drops you get Bronze Buddha Pendant (7/11).

Back at the shrine. Go through the gate next to us and ahead are Corpses and a Falcon. We want to turn left and take this path. Look out on the right for Bellflower. Stay on this main path and reach a split. On the right path is a Monk, the left leads to a gate. Go through the gate, you can go left and down for a Crow and Gentian. Straight ahead from the gate, you can see another in the distance. Head towards it and on your right you'll see a big enemy, defeat it for entry Turtle Treasure (19/21).

This enemy can also drop an armour piece and, you guessed it, this is a good spot to farm it. While we're here, look up at the glowing pot on the ledge, smash it for an Awakening Wine Worm.
Before we farm the item, travel back to your Merchant hub via the map.
We can upgrade our Gourd and Drink.
Hand in any new seeds. I had 3 to give here, Millennium Ginseng, Aged Ginseng and Pearl Tree (9/15). Harvest your plants and, unless you already came here to do that, you'll unlock

Happy Harvest Fields kept trim leave time to skim. Harvesting your plants for the first time

When ready, travel back to 'Longevity Road' and make the run left to the Turtle Treasure and farm them until they drop the armour piece. Again you can use Cloud Step to not trigger any Corpses on the run to them. I've read some people say it took 50 attempts even with the increased drop rate curio, while others say they got it in 2 tries without the curio. I got it on my 17th run and got a nice amount of XP too. Skull of Turtle Treasure (5/11). We can now wear this whenever farming enemies to increase our drop rate!

Go through the gate on the left, behind wooden fences on the left is Will. Ahead is a Monk and on the left, before going up, is Will behind 2 stone pillars. Go up the steps and ahead you'll have to fight 2 Falcons before picking a Luojia Vine from the tree.

Turn around and head towards the stone pillar, taking the left up the hill. Follow the path for a while, fighting Corpses and Crows until another giant comes into view. Kill it and get the curio Gold Spikeplate (8/11).
From the direction we were facing when we saw the giant, go to that back corner for a Crow in front of a chest. Keep the cliff side on your left and head back, round the corner will be a Monk and beyond him we will be back at the shrine area. If you climb up the steep hill on the left you'll find Will.

From the shrine we now want to head forward and take the right path. Run all the way up to the temple for the next boss. Defeat them for entry Captain Kalpa-Wave (8/12) and absorb it's Spirit. Head through the temple doors.

New Thunderclap Temple
Before going down the steps, turn right and head straight into the back right corner for Will and return here. Down the steps and ahead on your left will be shrine 'Temple Entrance'.
Turn 180 from here and see a tree, to the right of it is a chest. Turn right from this and go forward to Pearl. Go right from this onto a frozen lake to some enemies and Will.

We're going to backtrack a bit now. Travel to 'Lower Pagoda'. Run back along the outer ledge to the cell next to ours and speak to the NPC.

Corrupted Captains How mighty would those four spirits be if I could harness their power. Completing the Third Prince's quest

Gain entry The Third Prince (4/6). With the item he gave us we can craft a new weapon at shrines, the Chu-Bai Spear (3/4).
Travel back to 'Temple Entrance'. This is the final area of this huge Chapter.

From the shrine, go straight down to the temple ahead. Fight a Blade Monk and, before entering, go to the back left area to find a Rhino on a platform ahead. You can jump up the snow bank to get him and in the area behind is Ginseng, Will and new enemy Overseeing Monk (20/21).
These Monks have a chance to drop a piece of armour. Yep, more farming! We won't do it yet, we'll save the last 3 items to farm just before the final boss as they may well drop from the enemies as we fully explore this temple.

Head back and now enter this building to find another Monk. Through to the other side you'll see 2 staircases. First let's take the ones on the right. At the top on the left is a Monk in front of a tree. Stay on this right hand side, further ahead will be 2 Rhino by steps that go down. Kill them and instead of heading down, keep going straight ahead for Pearl.

Look right and jump over the wall to a platform, kill the enemy, drop down to kill more and grab the Will. Ahead are the stairs we were just at the top of. Follow the left edge for Bellflower. You'll see a red structure on the left and a huge snowy path ahead. Head down the path taking out Monks, on the left is Ginseng. If you carry on down this way you'll find yourself back in the shrine area. This is another route into the Temple from the shrine.

Head back to that red structure and 3 blindfold Monks. After the 3rd, you'll see a new, big enemy ahead. We won't take it on yet as Rhinos will cast lightning from above. Let's take them out while grabbing items.
Go left first and by a tree in front of the steps, Bellflower. Up the steps, kill the 2 Rhino on the right and open a chest on the left by the building. Go up the next steps and turn right, see another huge set of steps ahead, and take the second right down some steps.

Down these steps, on the left, is a chest with soak Sweet Ice (9/11).
Now you can jump over the wall and take on the big enemy, gaining entry Clay Vajra (21/21).
These ALSO have a chance to drop an armour piece... farming later though.
Head up the big steps, turn right and go forward to the other set. Before going up look left, by a tree is Gentian.

At the top you'll see a tree with 3 blindfold Monks around it, looking right there's another in front of a turtle statue. In the back right corner you'll see a stone monument with a glowing candle. As you approach this, a pretty hard mini-boss will appear.
Defeat them for entry Monk from the Sea (9/12), absorb their Spirit for new spell Hoarfrost.

Turn left from the monument and go up to the open doors. Before going through, look right for Will.
Go through the doors and turn left. Ahead is an opening and on the right a chest. Through the opening is a Monk, Wolf and Ginsengling. Exit and turn left, walk ahead and we can go left or right. Turn left for a Wolf and in the back right corner Will. Turn right to find another turtle statue and a chest in front of it. Facing the chest, 180 and walk ahead turning right and going down this path.
Turn right at the bottom and on the left you'll see Bellflower. If we keep going straight we will be back at the shrine after having completed a big loop.

From the shrine, run back down past the blade Monk, through the building and this time at the Rhinos we'll take the left staircase.
Chapter 3 - VII
At the top turn right and face a Monk and Rhino walking together. While we're here, let's duck into the red building on the right.
Inside is a blade Monk and 3 blindfolded Monks. You'll also find a chest with the curio Thunderstone (9/11).

Head back to where the Monk and Rhino were and ahead is another staircase going down. Before turning left to go down it, run straight ahead all the way to find a chest on your right.
Now go down those steps. In this area, there are Rhino on the top floor casting lightning on you so before we explore the outside we need to run into this building to take them out. As soon as you enter is a blindfold Monk. Head up the stairs to face 2 more. At the top, exit left and turn right to take out the pesky Rhino.

Head back down and we'll explore the outside before continuing. Exit the building, we can go left or right. Left leads to an icy lake and Will guarded by an enemy. The right has a few enemies and at the end, if you turn right, in the corner on a platform is a chest. Turn right from here heading back to the building and on the way, by a tree, is Ginseng.

Head back up the stairs, exit and this time go left. Cross the bridge and at the end is formula Body Fleeting Powder (4/4).
Turn around and see our Horse friend. Speak to him until he repeats and receive the Trailblazer's Scarlet Gourd (10/11).

Look right and jump over the bridge then look right and jump up the rocks. Various enemies around here, by the right edge is Bellflower. Look to your left for a nearby chest. Keep following the right edge and behind a staircase and lot's of Corpses and a blade Monk is Will. Keep the edge on your right and ahead is a Vajra. Turn left from him and down into the water for a chest with a Stamina upgrade. Turn left from the chest and head up, on flat ground look left for Gentian.

Follow the stone path here, look right for Pearl. Follow the path as it curves around and reach a 3 way split. If you go left down the ramp, on the right is a Will. Through the doors leads back to the Horse.
If you go straight ahead, on your left will be Ginsengling and, at the end, a Monk in front of Will.
If you go up right up the steps we will face a boss. This is where we want to use the fox transformation. Use the item Snow Fox Brush and run up the steps to the building.
Defeat the boss for entry Non-Void (10/12) and Absorb his Spirit (11/14).
If you exit here, you can turn right and follow it around the corner for Will.

Travel back to 'Forest of Felicity' and speak to the corpse by the gate ahead.
Receive curio Snow Fox Brush (10/11) and the entry The Fox (5/6) as well as

Lust and Dust Each and every one holds their own truth. Completing The Fox questline

Travel to 'Temple Entrance'. Forward, through the building, up the staircase and now we have completed both left and right sides, we can go straight ahead. There is a tougher Vanja that drops a Spirit (12/14). Head up the steps behind and be ready to face 2 giants. They won't respawn.

On the left side of this arena, up some steps to a Rhino, turn left and at the end is Will. Come down the steps, turn left and walk ahead for Bellflower.
Turn around, we will explore the right side in a minute, first go up the big stairs opposite where we came in to activate the shrine 'Mahavira Hall'.

Turn right from the shrine towards the steps for Will. Head down the steps on the left and at the bottom turn left and left again for a Bellflower. Turn 180 and head over the other side for Gentian. Now go in the building here for a boss fight.
Defeat him for

Devoted Disciples Such a waste of those four grand titles. Defeating the four disciples

Gain entry Non-Pure (11/12), absorb his Spirit (13/14). Also in this room is Meditation Spot (5/5).

Beyond our new shrine is the final boss of this Chapter. Before that we want to farm the last 3 items. You may have had 1 or all of them drop already.
The best place to farm is to go from 'Mahavira Hall', down the steps, then down the other set ahead. In this area you have 2 Rhino on the left, 2 on the right and 5 blindfold Monks in and around the building. On the other side of this area is the double staircase with 4 Rhino.
This is good for Monks and Rhino, there is another way you could go which would add in the Vajra, but you may wish to farm it separately. Either way, the second route is still from the Mahavira shrine. Head down the 2 sets of stairs, head left and go down another set of steps by 2 Rhino. Go ahead and through the building with 3 Monks, then you will be by the Vajra (and 2 Rhino on the side casting lightning).

I got the Monk drop from normal exploration of this area, See No Evil (6/11).
Using the first farm route there are 8 Rhino and it took me 7 runs to get the curio Thunderflame Seal (11/11).
For the Vajra it took me 3 runs to get the Vajra Armguard (7/11). As usual, the remaining entries, armour, spirits, etc will be gained in Chapter 4 after defeating the boss here.
All that's left is to take on the interesting final boss. Defeat them for

Matches with the Macaque You don't need to wait for the perfect moment to soar to greater heights. Facing the Macaque for the third time

Gain entry Macaque Chief (12/12)

Nifty Nonsense The fat monk failed, for he spoke too much. Defeating Yellowbrow

Watch the cutscenes and congratulations on completing the very long Chapter 3 and farming all those items!
Chapter 4 - I
When you start you'll have the first entry for this Chapter Wushan Lesser Guai (1/19).
Pause and in the journal we have the final entries for Chapter 3; Yellowbrow (5/5) and The Keeper of the New West (6/6).
We also have the final Spirit Apramāṇa Bat (14/14). We can also select Relics and pick a new upgrade.

Turn right for Licorice. Turn right from here and go up the hill and at the top is Jade, Mushroom and Will. Head back down and around the side of the second building on the right is Licorice. Turn 180 and head to the main path for Jade and on the other side of the path Mushroom. Beyond that is Will. Back on the main path and there's Will to the right.

Village of Lanxi
Ahead will be a new enemy Puppet Spider (2/19). A gate will lie ahead with a path on either side. Take the right path for Mushroom and, before going into the water, turn right to find Jade. In the water you'll find Lotus, a Spider and Will.
Head back and take the left path this time. By the first building is Jade and Will and new enemy Lantern Holder (3/19). On the right by a rock is Will and behind it Licorice and Will. Further down are 2 more Will and a chest. Head back and now take the middle path through the gate.

On the right is a Spider and Will. Exit this structure and follow the wall right for enemy Dragonfly Guai (4/19). Keep following the wall to the back of the structure for a Fungiling. Turn around and head out taking the right path. Ahead is new enemy Beetle Captain (5/19).
Beyond where he was is a narrow walkway with 2 Will. First look right for a chest, turn right from this and find a path going left with Will. Head all the way to the end for Licorice, 2 Grasshopper Guai (6/19) and a Puppet Tick (7/19).

The Grasshoppers have a chance to drop an armour piece. I don't think it's as rare as others so hopefully you have one by the end of this Chapter but if not I'll remind you before the end.
Backtrack and take the narrow walkway grabbing both Will. On the other side a Grasshopper attacks, this one dropped the armour for me Locust Antennae Mask (1/15).
Immediately to the left as we entered here there's Licorice. Stick to the left here to reach a garden with many Stone Spider (8/19), Will and Fungiling. Inside the building is a chest and on the other side of it Jade.

Turn around from the Jade and in the distance a Dragonfly is taking shots at you. Ahead is Mushroom by a tree. Make your way to the Dragonfly, passing a Lantern Holder by a new shrine. Kill the Dragonfly, pick up Will and activate shrine 'Estate of the Zhu'.

Go to Store, you can buy Mind Cores and special materials if wanted. Buy the map.
Go to Craft and we can cross off Chapter 3 gear. Golden Mask of Fury (8/11), Golden Embroidered Shirt (9/11), Golden Armguard (10/11), Golden Greaves (11/11). We can also Craft Spikeshaft Staff (4/4) but probably not got enough materials yet.

We wont see any more Celestial Pear trees. I didn't get the seed from running through Chapter 3. If you did that's great, but if you're like me then you will want to visit a farming spot.
Remember, plants grow back on an in game timer, supposedly 30 minutes.
This means we will need to remember to visit this spot as we explore Chapter 4 and hope to get the seed. It took me 3 trips for it to drop.
The farming method: Travel to Chapter 3 'Brook of Bliss'. Turn around and go toward the bridge, jump off just to the right of it for Pear 1. Turn around and head up the stream and on the right is Pear 2 and further up is Pear 3.
You could also leave this for NG+ as we will have to go through Chapter 3 again and it may drop there, but I like tying up loose ends when possible so I started doing it while going through Chapter 4.

Travel to 'Zodiac Village' and speak to Xu Dog to buy the formula Essence Decoction (1/4) and spend any Mind Cores.
Talk to Shen Monkey and buy the final Drink unlocked from Chapter 3 Pinebrew (11/11). Also buy the Awakening Wine Worm and Luojia Vine.

When ready, return to 'Estate of Zhu' and open the doors to a boss.
Defeat them for The Second Sister (1/9).
Go back to where we entered, with your back to that door look right and enter the building. Smash the glowing pot for Awakening Wine Worm. Exit and turn left, go left down the side between the hut and wall. At the back is Jade. Turn left and notice another cobwebbed building we can pass through. Ahead is a chest, on the right is a small area with a Dragonfly and 2 Wasp Guai (9/19). Kill them, grab the Mushroom and loot the chest.

Exit here to the boss arena, turn right and move through the building. On the other side turn left to find a Mushroom. There's a big hole in the middle, go around the edge to the other side for a chest with a Health upgrade. Turn right from the chest and go forward for Jade. Jump down the hole.

Webbed Hollow
Instead of following the golden trail, turn 180 to find a chest with medicines. Look left from this and go down the path for a chest with curio Cuo Jin-Yin Belt Hook (1/9).
Now go and activate the shrine 'Upper Hollow'. We can Craft a new weapon after the last boss; Chitin Staff (1/3).

Travel back to 'Estate of Zhu', go to where we faced the boss for a tougher Lantern Holder who drops a Spirit (1/13).
Return to 'Upper Hollow'.
Look 90 degrees to the left and walk towards the building on the left, then go right for Licorice and Tick at the edge. Here you can see how twisted and vertical this area is going to be!

Turn around and, keeping the building on your right, go round it and down the path. At the end is Will and before that on the left is a chest and Spiders.
Head back and see a Mushroom on your right and a little after that take a right on a path that goes up. At the top is Will to your right. Continue the path and as you move into a structure there will be a chest on the other side that has a soak Goji Shoots (1/12).

Follow the path and at a split we want to turn right and go up to the top for Jade and Will.
Head down to the split, you can go right or drop down a level. Go right to a small area with egg sacs and cocoons. Make a habit of always hitting or rolling into these throughout the Chapter as they have a chance to drop 2 things we need.
An item called Rice Cocoons (we need 3) and the curio Spine in the Sack (2/9), you should have it by the end of the Chapter (I actually ended up with 3) but I will remind you later.

Face some Minor Amourworm (10/19) and a larger one in the cocoon in the middle. At the back is a chest.
Exit here, drop to the lower level and pick up Will at the edge. Drop off here and walk down the steps ahead to be back at the shrine.
Head back up these steps and turn left. Head down, take the left side to the Tick at the edge. Look down and note the platforms, we'll be back to go down later.

Take the path on the right and follow it round to the archer and Will. I'd already got 3 Rice Cocoons just from destroying everything up to now.
The next area has lots of cocoons and enemies. Make your way up and look out on the right edge for a side path with Spiders and Will.
Continue on the path, in the next area you might want to run straight up and take the archer out first.

Keep going while sticking to the right to find a path off to the right. Go in and defeat a tougher Beetle for a Spirit (2/13) and chest.
Chapter 4 - II
Exit here, turn right and go to the end. Look on your right for Jade. Go down the ramp for Licorice and Mushroom. Now drop down a few platforms until we see a new shrine guarded by a Beetle and Dragonfly.

Activate the shrine 'The Verdure Bridge', Turn around from the shrine for Mushroom and then take the path left of the shrine. At the split go right. Down here there's a Will and if you look left, over a bridge is a Mushroom and Spider. We could drop down here and do this area but let's take the actual path that leads under the bridge.

Travel to 'The Verdure Bridge'. At the split go left this time. Go towards the lanterns and after the scene, take this path off to the right and find 5 chests!
One has formula Enhanced Ginseng Pellets (2/4), another has the soak Purple-Veined Peach Pit (2/12) and another has the Xiang River Goddess Gourd (3/12).
At the back, you can walk through cobwebs, on the other side there is Jade on your left and a Fungiling on the right.

Face the big Worm here to get a key item and the entry Elder Amourworm (2/9). Leave here and back on the main path turn right to see Will.
Follow this path down and around until you face new entry Clawed Cocoon (11/19). Past the cocoons and further down this path you will see the bridge we were on earlier.
Instead of going under it, take the path on the left to find Will and a Lantern Holder. At the top here through the gate you'll encounter a tough enemy Scorpion Prince (12/19) that drops a Spirit (3/13) and soak Deathstinger (4/12).
Pick the Luojia Vine from the tree in the middle.
Make sure you kill every Scorpion we come up against! There are 5 in total and I will direct you to them all.

Opposite where we entered, you will see steps going up to the left of a building. At the top of those look right and open the chest in the building for formula Mirage Pill (3/4).
Round the far side of the other building is Will. Cross the small bridge and go in the building in front of you for Drink Worryfree Brew (5/12). Exit and go left around the building for Will. Turn around you should see a stone pillar with a purple glowing Talisman on it. Approach for a scene and remove the Talisman (1/4).

Cross the bridge, fight some Worms and after them, look on the right for Jade and left for a Fungiling.
Drop off here and to the right is Meditation Spot (1/6). Turn 180 to spot a shrine but first climb up the rocks on the right for Licorice. Activate the shrine 'Middle Hollow'. Have you been revisiting the Pear farm?

Travel to 'Zodiac Village'. Talk to Shen Monkey and upgrade the Gourd. If you've been upgrading this starting one it should be at it's max level now. Upgrade the Drink, this only needs 2 more upgrades to be at max.
Talk to Chen Loong to deliver an item we got from the Elder Amourworm.
Travel to 'Zodiac Village' to reset it. Go up the stairs to Chen but look off to the right to see our harvest area and on the far right is the Proto-Amourworm hanging out. Feed it the 3 Rice Coccoons and travel to 'Zodiac Village' once more. You can now absorb a Spirit (4/13) where the amourworm was.

Return to 'Middle Hollow'. Facing the shrine, the right path leads to a boss but we want to explore a bit more. Take the left path to a chest and notice a path on the other side of the cave. We want to go this way and end up at the boss from another angle.

Travel back to 'Upper Hollow'. Head up the stairs, down the path, at the split go left.
Kill the Tick and then look down and land on the platform below. Jump down to face a Spider and find Will to the right. Going left we come to an area with lots of cocoons.
Stick to the right edge to find a chest in a secret room behind some cocoons. Continue on the main path and in the next chamber is Jade, a Dragonfly and Will.
Move on to another cocoon room. Go up the steps at the end and take the path up, Licorice will be on your left and if you turn 180 you will see a way up on the left that leads to Will.
Make sure you kill the Scorpion here, Mushroom on the right.

At the top, go left over the short bridge and round the left side for Will. Turn around and head back over the bridge, enter the pool of water for Lotus. Before meditating, look left and at the edge is Jade.
Use Meditation Spot (2/6). Head towards the shrine and before activating it, look left for Will by the edge. New shrine 'Pool of Shattered Jade'.

Look right from here and notice a path going up to the left.
Up here is a boss with a very MISSABLE item.
He has 6 arms on his back and we need to destroy 4 of them to get an armour piece.
If you kill him before doing this then you'll have to wait until NG+! So if his health is low and you don't think you'll manage it, you're better off dying and trying again.
Use a mixture of dodging and Immobilize to only attack his back until 4 of the arms have been destroyed. 2 will remain high up by his shoulders as well as having his main 2.
Immobilize spell is your best bet here because he dashes about a lot.

Head up the path and at the top, attack the Old Cocoon and then, the boss.
If you were successful you will get Venomous Armguard (2/15).
If not, you'll have to wait until we come back here in NG+ to try again.

Return to the shrine and go back across the water, over the short bridge and to the right to wooden scaffolding. At the end, if you look down, you'll see Will on the ground below. Drop down but behind you is an enemy. Pick up the Will and drop down twice for Licorice. Keep dropping down the platforms until we reach 'The Verdure Bridge' from another route.

Go forward and at the split go right, kill the spiders and go over the platform ahead to the Dragonfly then drop down once more to a Grasshopper. From where we dropped down to, left goes to the first Scorpion we faced. We will go right following the edge and to a huge wooden gate. As you pass through it look left to lots of cocoons. Behind them is a hidden area.

In here is a Puppet Spider that drops a Spirit (5/13). Remember to destroy egg sacs for a chance at the curio. Exit here and turn left, follow the path defeating enemies, look out for a Will on your left just before new shrine 'Bonevault'. We're on the other side of shrine 'Middle Hollow' and they both lead to the same place so carry on and drop down to face a boss.

Defeat them for Centipede Guai (3/9) and absorb the Spirit (6/13).
Find the path out of here and at the end drop down and look on your right for more platforms down to Will. Jump back up and carry on. Ahead is a huge cocoon and Jade to the right of it.
Break the cocoon to find Horse friend and speak to him until he repeats.
Continue up the path and after the first big Worm is Lotus in water to the left.
After the 2nd Worm is Licorice on the right and at the top is a 3rd Worm and Mushroom.

Keep going up and you'll see a shrine to the left. Go forward to the Mushroom and then head right to remove Talisman (2/4). By the building are a couple of enemies and a chest.
Turn around and activate the shrine 'Cliff of Oblivion'.
Follow the path, interact with the item and defeat a boss.

Mud on His Face An odd yaoguai killed, an odd mirror earned. Defeating Bodhisattva's Right Hand

Get entry Bodhisattva's Right Hand (4/9). Cross the bridge and turn left, follow this narrow path up to a chest with a Mana upgrade.
Chapter 4 - III
Head back down and jump off the platform. Follow the path and at the split go left. Drop down and go over the bridge. Move through the cave and at the 2nd Skeleton, turn right and climb over the scaffolding to a chest.
Follow the main path and stop before you get too close to the cocoons. Either use Thrust Stance to get rid of them all as they don't respawn or, far easier, Cloud Step and run across the rope bridge without triggering them.

Grab the Will half way down and after the archer is Gentian on the right. Kill the Beetle and stick to the right. Spot a Jade on the left then further up on the right reach another Beetle and Luojia Vine on a tree. Turn around from here to see another Jade.
Climb up the rocks for a Fungiling. Stick to the right edge for a Beetle, then a Mushroom, then another Mushroom, then on to activate 'Relief of the Fallen Loong'.

Don't go ahead just yet, turn left from the shrine and look over the edge for Lotus. Look right from here and go up the hill. At the top you'll find Jade, Licorice and our 3rd Scorpion.
Continue on and stick to the left until you find Lotus in water. Then turn right to see another Lotus across the way. In the distance is a 3rd Lotus behind that. Keep going straight in this direction to face a few enemies including a stronger Tick that drops a Spirit (7/13).

Head back to where the first Lotus was and go along here. Before going up the steep path to the right, keep going forward for Will. Turn and go back and now go up the hill. First go right for Jade and a chest. Now take the left path to remove Talisman (3/4).
Drop off the platforms here for Will. Drop down again and we will be near where we took the rope bridge across, but on the other path off the split, so carry on towards the Dragonfly, drop down and follow the path all the way to the end. Look right for a crack in the wall and go through.

Carry on and pick up the Will before dropping off the platform. Move down through the cobwebs and in the next area are a LOT of enemies, try to take them out in small numbers so you don't get overwhelmed. In the lower section there is a chest.
Exit out on the other side and follow the path through a chamber full of cocoons and Ticks. On the other side is new shrine 'Lower Hollow'.
Turn around and keep the wall on your left, look for a crack in the wall you can squeeze through.

Climb the steps to the top for Meditation Spot (3/6).
Turn around and begin to head down but look right for another path. Go this way looking out for Will on your right. Further ahead is another Frog. Defeat them for entry Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw (5/9).

Continue on and at the end drop down for Will. Going right leads to the last shrine we got, another one is not too far ahead if we go left and past the Beetle. On your right is Will and ahead is shrine 'Hut of Immortality'.
Go right for a scene and a boss fight.
Return to the shrine and head up the new path and squeeze through the crack. Head along and find Mushroom on your left. Step into the arena for another boss fight.

Gnashing Grudge Harsh, rash, ever unquelled. Rank, dank, muck-impelled. Defeating Zhu Bajie

You'll get the curio Jade Moon Rabbit (3/9) and entry Zhu Bajie (1/5).

Follow the golden trail, enter the cave and open the chest ahead before activating shrine 'The Purifying Spring'.
We can Craft some new equipment; Non-Pure Broken Mask (3/15), Non-Pure Armor of Coiling Loong (4/15), Non-Pure Gauntlets (5/15), Non-Pure Greaves (6/15).

Move through and pick up Will. In the next chamber, move up to a Will and follow the path around the right side. After killing the Lantern Holder, jump into the water and find 2 Lotus. Go towards the cocoons to pick up our 4th Skandha from the statue head.
Turn around and go up the walkway until you can turn left and go up the main path. At the top of the steps on the right is a chest and Grasshopper and up the ramp will be the 4th Scorpion as well as a stronger Dragonfly to the right that drops a Spirit (8/13).
Also in this area you can find Will and a Fungiling. Continue on the main path and at the end look right for Will and then take the path to the left.

Find new shrine 'The Gathering Cave'. Ahead is a boss.

Passion Passes Not even one of them looked back. Defeating Violet Spider

After the cutscene you'll be in a scripted section where you will just need to run.
You'll also have got entry Violet Spider (1/5).
When you get back on land, run up and pick the Luojia Vine.

Temple of the Yellow Flowers
Activate new shrine 'Mountain Trail'. We have unlocked a new weapon; Spider Celestial Staff (2/3).

Travel to 'Zodiac Village'. Speak to Shen Monkey and buy Immortal Blessing Gourd (6/12).
At this point I had been able to get my seed drop from the Celestial Pear farm and was able to hand it in to Chen meaning I have (10/15) seeds.

Return to 'Mountain Trail'. Head up the steps and at the top keep right as it curves round to face new entry Sword Daoist (13/19) and Will. Turn around and head straight for Gentian. Look left for another Daoist, look left from where he was and climb over the rocks for Mushroom. Return to the main path and you'll find Gentian on your left and entry Fly-Whisk Daoist (14/19). These Daoist have a chance to drop a soak and I'll mention it again later.

Go up and in the water is Lotus. Look left and by the 2 enemies is a chest with soak Bee Mountain Stone (7/12). By the tree here is Gentian. In the next area is a Snake Herbalist (15/19) and 2 Staff Daoist (16/19). Behind them is Will.

On the main path, Gentian on the left followed by Fungiling on the right.
At the top of the steps you will see a few enemies including Snake Sheriff (17/19). These enemies also have a chance to drop a curio, more on that later.
Open the chest and then turn around and head to the big tree for Licorice, then take the path on the left of this.

On the left will be a Will and on the right under a tree Gentian. Follow the path and at the top of the stairs is another Snake Sheriff to your right. Straight ahead is Gentian, then turn left for Will. Kill the Tiger and then look left for a chest and new entry Worm Practitioner (18/19).
Keep heading up the mountain, grab the Will on your right. Get on the wooden walkway, Mushroom on the right followed by ambush and then shrine 'Forest of Felicity'.

After the shrine you can go left or right. Left first to find Licorice and at the end Meditation Spot (4/6). Head back and take the right path.
Keep to the right side, fight some enemies and pick up Will. Turn left and jump down to another Worm and Fungiling. Go straight to the edge to face 2 Daoist and then go right following the path for a Snake.

At the top of this linear path are a bunch of Daoist being taught by a Beetle who is our next boss.
Defeat them all for Beetle Commander (6/9) and absorb their Spirit (9/13).
In a chest at the back is the curio Tablet of the Three Supremes (4/9).
Now face the other building, go around the left of it and up the path to a chest.
Chapter 4 - IV
Now face the other building, go around the left of it and up the path to a chest.
Go back and take the other path, Mushroom on the left and a few enemies ahead. Continue on to shrine 'Temple Entrance'.

Go through the doors and turn left for 2 Worms and Will, then go up the steps.
Through the door we can go left or right. Take the right path but first go forward into the water to spot Lotus. Look to your left and climb up the rocks here to reach a chest in front of a tree, then go right around the tree to find Will. Now go back to the right path.

Through the doors and into a big courtyard, there are lots of Worms here. On the right side there's Will. On the left side there is Licorice and Meditation Spot (5/6).
Worms have a chance to drop a curio, this is the best place to farm it because of the amount of them. Farm it now to get curio Virtuous Bamboo Engraving (5/9).

Up the steps here is a tougher Snake Sheriff who drops their Spirit (10/13).
Up the next steps to find the Old Man, speak to him until he repeats and then smash the glowing pot behind him for Awakening Wine Worm.

Return to the split and take the left path now. Before going up the steps there's Lotus in the water to the left. Up the steps and on the left side is a Daoist and behind a fence, Gentian and a Worm. Up the next steps for 2 Snakes and continue to the end for another split. Take the left and on the left before the Daoists is Gentian. On their right is a pool of water with a Tiger and Will.

Go up the steps and activate shrine 'Court of Illumination'. Before continuing here, we will backtrack a bit so turn 180 from the shrine, back down the steps and go straight. In the next structure is a Worm and chest.
Follow this path, you'll pass a Worm and Gentian. You'll pass a Mushroom on your right. Near the top is a split, straight on or left, go straight first.

After going down the steps, look left for Licorice. Stick to the left here and find a Mushroom. Look right and there are 2 more Mushrooms but the one on the left is actually a boss.
Defeat them for the Monkey Head Fungus seed and absorb their Spirit (11/13).
At the end of this area is another Mushroom and the Drink Sunset of the Nine Skies (8/12).

Return to the split and go down the other path towards a boss that will lead us to a secret area.
After defeating them you'll gain entry Venom Daoist (2/5).
Interact with the wall painting to be transported.

Secret in Purple Cloud "What use are eight arms against twenty strikes with my staff?" Entering the secret area of Chapter 4

Purple Cloud Mountain
Follow the path, there will be Gentian on your right followed by Pearl.
You'll hear a voice, move towards it and before speaking to them, open the chest on the left.
Speak to the NPC until they repeat and then cross the bridge grabbing Will.
On the path there is Gentian to the left and further ahead is shrine 'Valley of Blooms'.

Cross the bridge and turn left to see Pearl. Turn left and jump into the water for Lotus. Under the bridge is Will and in the water on the other side is Lotus and Will.
Jump out of the water here and head you'll see a Luojia Vine and a new enemy in front of it; Lushleaf (19/19). Absorb their Spirit (12/13).
These enemies have a chance to drop a soak, we'll farm it before the final boss if it doesn't drop for you before.
Go forward behind the tree to a Fungiling. Keep following this edge and you'll find a golden trail leading to shrine 'Bounds of Deity's Abode'.

Let's tie up a few loose ends, travel to 'Zodiac Village'.
We can upgrade the Jade Guanyin Gourd at Shen.
Hand in any seeds to Chen, we got the Monkey-Head Fungus which also gives us the Snake-Head Mushroom seed. If you've been picking all the plants as we go then hopefully you have about the same, possibly missing 1 or 2. We have 2 seeds to collect in the next Chapter and we won't really come across most of these plants again so you may wish to farm whatever you need to get.
Of course we will be running through the game again in NG+ so you might want to pick them up then instead.

You should be able to upgrade your preferred gear another level if you didn't already. Upgrading gives a significant boost in defence and is worth doing.
Now with our upgraded gear, let's Challenge the Blacksmith. He's hard but fun. If you're having trouble then read on a little bit.

The Soaring Slash A mere test of skill turned into a fight for the kill. Defeating the Blacksmith

You'll get the spell Ebon Flow as well as entry Yin Tiger (3/5).
You can speak to him to gain a new curio slot! You might need to travel back here to reset him first.

We're about to face another hard boss so let me point out a good XP farming spot you may want to take advantage of now we're stronger.
You will need to respec some skill points for this, I reclaimed 12 points and went to Transformations, put 6 points into Rage Burst (scorch damage) and 3x 2 points into Ferocious Form (increase attack). If you find you aren't doing enough damage then put more points into Ferocious Form.

Travel to 'Pool of Shattered Jade' and equip the Ashen Slumber transformation.
Equip the Goldflora Hairpin curio for extra XP and our drop rate headpiece if you want extra materials.
From the shrine look right and take the path up to the left, run into the middle of the cocoons and transform using Ashen Slumber, then use the spell Fiery Burst and make sure you hold the buttons down so it charges up and does a bigger explosion. This will take all the cocoons out and you'll get a load of XP and Will and materials. Rest at the shrine and repeat as much as you want.

Don't forget to change back your curio, transformation, skill points, etc.
Have another go at the Blacksmith if you didn't do him before.
Travel to 'Relief of the Fallen Loong' back in the caves. Move forward to another hard boss.

The Loong Pattern In the air, they swing, yet it’s already ending. Defeating Yellow Loong

After the fight get entry Yellow Loong (2/5) and the curio Golden Carp (6/9). This curio boosts item drop rate, good for farming!
Pick up their weapon ahead for the spell Golden Lining.

Finally travel back to 'Bounty of Deity's Abode'. Head up the steps here to face yet another tough boss. Smash the pots to get his attention and defeat him.

A Family Finished Together at last, the scorpions united. Defeating the 5 Scorpions

You'll get entry The Scorpionlord (3/5) and the Stained Jade Gourd (9/12).
Inside the structure here is a chest. Turn around and go right, keeping to the edge until you reach Pearl. Go left to see an enemy, a Will and a path up the hill. Go up and at the top turn left and cross the bridge. At the end turn left and on the cliff edge is Meditation Spot (6/6).

Follow the path down and at the bottom you can go left to our last shrine and right to follow the edge to a pool of water with Lotus. Look left a little and forward for Lushleaf and Pearl. Look to your right and notice a pavilion. Walk up to it for a chest with the curio Celestial Registry Tablet (7/9).
This is good to put on when farming for extra XP.
Chapter 4 - V
Beyond the chest you will see another Lushleaf and to the left by the cliff side is Pearl.
You may have also noticed the golden trail but we'll come from another route so this place is fully explored.

Travel to 'Valley of Blooms'. We can Craft new armour Venomous Sting Insect Armor (7/15).
Go over the bridge and this time go left and follow the path to another Lushleaf. Ahead will be a tougher Snake Herbalist with a Spirit as well as 2 annoying archers we should take care of first.
Stick to the left hand edge and run up a path to the first archer, turn right and go across the roof grabbing the Will. At the end turn right and cross the stone bridge to a chest with curio Gold Sun Crow (8/9). Drop off the ledge ahead and kill the 2nd archer before killing the Snake and absorbing the Spirit (13/13).

Go through the gate to some enemies and a Mushroom to the right of them under a tree.
Activate new shrine 'Petalfall Hamlet'.
This is the best spot to farm the Lushleaf for their soak. Let's make use of our new curio Golden Carp as well as the Treasure headpiece (I believe the effects stack).
From the shrine turn back, ahead is a gate but we go left towards the pavilion and on the other side is Lushleaf 1. Turn around and go to the left side of the pavilion, look in the distance for Lushleaf 2. Turn right from here and go under the stone bridge and turn left to find Lushleaf 3 on your right.
It only took me 2 full runs for it to drop, new soak Undying Vine (10/12).

Return to 'Petalfall Hamlet' and continue on the path. Don't forget to change your armour/curio back.
Cross the bridge and find Gentian on your right. Head up the steps and at the top on the left is an NPC to talk to. He wants a Violet Hail so as we go through the next area, keep killing Daoists and look out for when one drops, I'll let you know when to come back here to deliver it.

Behind the NPC is Will. Turn around and head forward, take the steps through the archway on the left and immediately turn left to see a narrow passage. Go up here and smash the glowing pot for Awakening Wine Worm.
Drop down and backtrack through the archway. Turn left and at the split, go right of the tree for Fungiling. Go back and take the left for 2 Daoist and a chest behind them. Turn back from the chest and take a right into the water for Lotus. Walk to the end and turn right for Will. Turn around and go straight to a Lotus. Keep heading this way for another Lotus and right at the end is Will. Head back to the last chest we opened.

Facing it, look right and go left past the fence around the building. Climb the steps and go straight ahead to find Mushroom on your left and a chest on your right. Turn 180 from the chest and go left then right down a narrow passage with Will. On the other side look left for Pearl. Go straight ahead, the left turn leads back to the NPC.
As we walk forward look out for Gentian on the left, Mushroom on the right and cross the bridge. Inside the building ahead is a chest guarded by Spiders.

Exit and go left. The path going up on the left has enemies but no items. The path on the right leads to a shrine but before you use it go down on the right to a chest.
Activate 'Cloudnest Peak' but DON'T go up the steps here yet.
Look right from the shrine and go round the side of the house to an enemy and Gentian. On the right is a Fungiling. Inside the next building will be a chest with the formula Life-Saving Pills (4/4) and on the other side look left for Will.
Further down here loops to the start we already explored.

Did you get the Violet Hail drop? What about the Fruit of Dao soak? This is the best place to farm for both. Go to 'Cloudnest Peak', equip item drop equipment, farm the Daoists until the Violet Hail drops. The soak supposedly drops from the Fly-Whisk Daoists but mine dropped from a Staff Daoist.
Once you have the Violet Hail and the Fruit of Dao (11/12) then travel to 'Petalfall Hamlet'. Remember to change back to your normal gear (I always forget....)

Head back across the bridge, up the stairs and deliver the item to the NPC.
Defeat the boss for

The Wayward Ways "Is that ugliness a promise of immortality? Better leave it." Defeating Daoist Mi

You'll receive the spell Violet Hail and entry Daoist Mi (7/9).
Travel to 'Cloudnest Peak', head up the steps and prepare for the final boss of the secret area. Defeat them for

The Cockerel Crowed Long and short, far and near, each span has its year. Defeating The Duskveil

You'll receive the Vessel Weaver's Needle (useful in the final boss of Chapter 4), the soak Double-Combed Rooster Blood (12/12) and the entries The Duskveil (4/5) and Hong Yi (4/5).
Beating him unlocked a new set at the Blacksmith; Iron Horned Helm (8/15), Iron-Tough Armor (9/15), Iron-Tough Gauntlet (10/15) and Iron-Tough Greaves (11/15).
We are back in Temple of Yellow Flowers, directly ahead of you is an area with a big tree. We will come back here later as something appears once we complete the Chapter.

Travel to 'Court of Illumination'.
Facing the shrine, go straight ahead up the steps. At the top you'll see the final talisman ahead. Before going up to it, turn left, walk forward and turn left again. Follow the path past 2 Daoist to reach a chest.
Return and just before the stone pillar, look left for Fungiling. Remove the Talisman (4/4) and face a boss.

Misfit with Merit Never will she see with him the world beyond. Completing the Purple Talisman quest

Gain entry Crane Immortal (5/5). At the back is a chest with a Stamina upgrade.
As usual, some equipment wont unlock until we beat the boss and are in the next Chapter.
There are 2 more curios to get here, one doesn't appear until after the boss and the other is farmed from Snake Sherrifs. There is one just outside of the shrine here so equip the drop rate gear, turn 180 from the shrine and go through, drop left off the steps and jump in the pool. Immobilize them before they can roar, get a full combo of attacks in followed by Wandering Wight spirit and a few more hits while he recovers before the 2 Daoist jump down.
It took me 8 runs to get the curio Tiger Tendon Belt (9/10).

There are a few other items that hopefully dropped for you during the Chapter, if not you should go back and farm them now.
Locust Antennae Mask from Grasshoppers (farm one from 'Verdure Bridge') and Spine in a Sack which you get from destroying the harmless cocoons underground.

Travel to 'Court of Illumination'. Equip the new Vessel Weaver's Needle. Use this during the fight when he cloaks the battlefield in lightning. Look right and finally exit out this way for the final boss.

Behold the Betrayal More eyes do not see more than the mortal trifles. Defeating Hundred-Eyed Daoist

Congratulations on finishing Chapter 4!
Chapter 5 - I
You start in a fight. Take care of all the enemies to get Revenant Stalwart (1/17) and Revenant Archer (2/17) and run to the big doors to open them. Go into the menu and we can choose our next Relic.
We will have received our last entries from Chapter 4; Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master (5/5), The First Sister (8/12), The Third Sister (9/12), The Fourth Sister (10/12), The Fifth Sister (11/12), The Sixth Sister (12/12).

Woods of Ember
Ahead will be Lavabull Revenant (3/17) next to the shrine 'Ashen Pass I'.
Go to the Store and buy the map for this Chapter. I also bought all the Mind Cores and materials.
Go to Craft and we can make the final equipment from Chapter 4; Visionary Centipede Staff (3/3), Centipede Hat of Transcendence (12/15), Centipede Qiang-Jin Armor (13/15), Centipede Spiked Armguard (14/15), Centipede Gaiters of Transcendence (15/15).

Before we continue, let's quickly go back to Chapter 4 and tie up some loose ends.
Travel to 'Court of Illumination'. Go into the final boss arena, at the bottom of the steps turn right and travel along the edge, a Mushroom will be on your left. Further along you'll see a building, 2 Daoist and at the end is a chest. You can explore the opposite side for some Will but it's hardly worth it at this point.
Return to the shrine, facing it you should turn 180 and run straight, keep following the path up the mountain. Eventually take the left turn that leads to the place with the wall painting that took us to the secret area. At the back of this place is a huge tree, go through and behind the tree is a chest with final curio Preservation Orb (10/10). If you go to the wooden platforms at the cliff edge there is another chest.

Return to 'Ashen Pass I'. Look ahead and stick to the left for Will. Turn around and head up the path, at the end you'll see Bellflower before a left turn.
Head down here and be careful of the fire being thrown down at you as you take out the enemies and a boss. Get the entries Bull Sergeant (3/17) and Bull Soldier (4/17) and speak to the NPC until his dialogue repeats. At the top of a short path that goes up on the right is Lingzhi.

Loot the 2 chests that are in the open here and go up the steps. There's another chest on your right and up the next steps is a boss. Up here you can climb the rocks on the right to a platform and Will. From here you can jump behind the Cart for an easy kill, just make sure you back up when it does it's fire burst attack. You get entry Five Element Carts (1/9), now activate the shrine 'Camp of Seasons'.

Cross the bridge and move into the cave, you'll see Will on your right and a Revenant Charbone (5/17) on your left. Ahead are 2 more and a bigger Revenant Charface (6/17).
On the other side is Bellflower. In the next cave is a Charbone and Lavabat (7/17).
At the end, cross the bridge and on the left is a Bull in front of a chest. On the right are steps up to Meditation Spot (1/4).

Head back down and continue on the path. After the Bat there is a split, go left of the stairs and follow the path to the end for a chest. Return and now take the steps up, at the top on your right is a chest with the soak Mount Lingtai Seedlings (1/4).
Cross the bridge and by the tree is Lingzhi. Climb the next steps and at the top defeat a mix of enemies before you can activate shrine 'Height of Ember'.

To the right of the shrine is Will. Walk onwards as it turns left and follow the path, a boss will appear. Defeat them for entry Father of Stones (2/9) and absorb the Spirit (1/11).

There is a door here on the right but first we'll walk straight on this path. Find Bellflower on your left and at the split, go straight ahead on the right for a chest.
Go back and take the left path, at the bottom turn left. On the right is a Linzhiling. Defeat the enemies and grab the Will. Turn around and head straight, look on the left edge for a path and go down the wooden platforms. At the bottom here is Bellflower and by the enemies a Luojia Vine.

Travel to 'Zodiac Village'.
Speak to Xu Dog and buy the formula Loon Aura Amplification Pellets (1/2). Use any Mind Cores.
Speak to Shen Monkey and buy the Luojia Vine and Awakening Wine Worm. Upgrade our Drink to the next level.

Travel to 'Height of Ember' and head back up the path and taking the doors on the right.
Walk down to trigger a 'boss fight'. Don't panic and make your way down, grab the Will on your left and be careful as its easy to fall off here.
Move into the cave and stick to the right to find a room with a chest containing curio Amber Prayer Beads (1/5).

Exit here and look right, go towards the Will. Then stick to the right hand side again to find another Will. Further along the right edge is more Will and a Lingzhiling. Just ahead on the right is a stronger Charface that drops a Spirit (2/11).
Move down towards another Will and then turn left and exit. On your right is a chest.
Continue down to see the boss, when there's a break in his attacks you can run down and hide in a recess before moving up. The one on the left at the end has a Will.
Defeat the boss and continue up the path.

After the scene you'll be in another boss fight. Get entry Quick as Fire, Fast as Wind (3/9) then follow the golden trail to shrine 'Ashen Pass II'.
Travel to 'Camp of Seasons' and talk to the Bull NPC until he repeats.
Return to 'Ashen Pass II'.
Facing the shrine, turn 180 and walk forward to a Health upgrade.
Move through the cave, pick up Will and squeeze through the hole. Follow along the path and when you reach the fire in front of you and the fox goes right, turn left and head to the end for Will. Now turn around and go straight to reach the fox, at the edge you can drop off.

Furnace Valley
Pick up Will to your right. In this area are 3 Searing Fire (8/17). You'll see a golden trail but the shrine is guarded by an Earth Rakshasa (9/17), kill them and activate shrine 'Valley Entrance'.
You should prepare for being in lava! Body Cooling Powder medicines, the Xiang River Goddess Gourd and Vessel Fireproof Mantle.

As you walk down the path, try locking on to find enemies hiding as rocks; Scorching-Fire (10/17). These enemies and the bigger versions have a chance to drop a soak, more on that later.
Follow the path killing things and the path goes down and you'll see lava either side. At the bottom and straight ahead you can see a shielded enemy. Turn left and go down into the lava, on your right is new plant Fire Date and we want the seed from these. Jump over the rocks behind it for another Date on your right and then another on the left.
At the end is a boss, use the Vessel here for an easy time. You'll get the entry Flint Chief (4/9) and then absorb it's Spirit (3/11).

Head back the way we came and before turning left back onto solid ground, head forward and take another left to Will. Now turn back and go back onto the path, walking forward and dropping off the other side back into more lava...
To your right will be new entry Flamling (11/17) and a Date. More Flamling will pop up. Keep going ahead to safe ground and even more Flamling. Turn right at the wall and follow the edge before jumping into the lava on the left. To the left is a Lingzhiling and to the right a Date.
Chapter 5 - II
Further up the back of this area you'll see a new enemy in front of a Cart. A Flamling will pop up on either side as you get closer. Defeat them all for new entry Tenner (12/17).
On the left is Will and a chest. Go to the Cart and interact with it until they ask you to stop.
Turn around and exit while sticking to the left side as it curves around to the left. At the end is a stronger Turtle Treasure, absorb it's Spirit (4/11) and loot the chest.

Travel back to 'Valley Entrance'. We can Craft the Staff of Blazing Karma (1/2).
Change your Gourd, etc back if you want. The Vessel could definitely come in handy with all the fire.
Head down this path again and at the bottom move forward towards the shielded enemy but go into the area to the right for Will.
Fight the Rakshasa and head up. At the top you can go left or right, go left first for a tougher Earth Rakshasa that drops a Spirit (5/11) and loot the chest behind them.

Head up the other path for a boss fight.
Defeat them for entry Cloudy Mist, Misty Cloud (5/9) and absorb the Spirit (6/11).
Continue up the steps and open the door to a shrine 'Rakshasa Palace'.
Facing the shrine, look to your left for a chest containing a Mana upgrade, then turn right to see another chest. Turn around and head towards the steps to the bridge and drop off the left to the lava.
Stick to this left hand side and you'll find Date on your right and new enemy Bull Stalwart (13/17).

Don't go under the bridge, go straight on and around the corner is another Date and a short, steep lava fall ahead you can walk up. Do it and on your left will be a Bull and a chest.
Turn right and go straight under a little bridge. Turn right and go down the lava platforms, look at the bridge ahead for a Will under it. Go straight from this, turn left and head forward to be back at the shrine.

On the main path now, over the bridges. After the second bridge turn right for a Bull and a few Flame Rhino Master (14/17). Over this bridge you'll notice a new enemy to your right and a giant in the distance. Take out the Bull Governor (15/17) and to the right of the steps he was on are steps down that lead to a Will.

Come back up the steps and look right to the giant. Enter the lava here and stick to the left side to enter a big building ahead.
Smash the pot in here for an Awakening Wine Worm, then speak to the Old Man until he repeats. Interact with the flame in the middle of this room for an upgrade to your main Gourd.

Always Accompanied How odd to encounter this old man at every corner! Completing the Old Man's quest and upgrading the Gourd

Exit and turn left, take out the giant for entry Sea Rakshasa (16/17).
Stick on this left hand side and you'll see another giant ahead. Pick up the Will on your left and return to where the Bull Governor was. Go up the steps and move forward killing enemies. Before going up the next stairs, jump into the lava on the left and take out the giant to get curio Gold Button (2/5).

Head up the stairs to shrine 'The Emerald Hall'. At the top you'll get a scene and be put into a boss fight. Defeat them for

The Furnace Boy Ha! A devoted Daoist should not be so polished! Defeating the Keeper of the Flaming Mountains

You'll get the Yin-Yang Daoist Robe (1/10) and the entries Keeper of the Flaming Mountains (1/6) and Yin-Yang Fish (1/4).
Ahead is a throne, run up to it and get the Drink Loong Balm (2/4). Turn 180 and run over the small bridge ahead, before continuing on turn right and walk forward a bit, turn right again to find a chest with the soak Slumbering Beetle Husk (3/4). Return to that bridge and take the path going straight from it to the stone monument, turn right here and at the end is Meditation Spot (2/4).

Return to the boss arena and turn left to carry on the main path. Continue along to find another Cart boss with the Bull NPC.
After defeating them, look at the edge on the right for a Will on a tree and talk to the Bull.
If he wasn't here you need to reload the area by travelling to the nearest shrine.
Follow this path up the mountain fighting enemies until you reach new shrine 'Ashen Pass III'.

Travel to 'Camp of Seasons', head down to the Bull NPC and speak to him until he repeats.
Travel to 'Valley Entrance' and we want to head down the path and into the lava below on the right. When you enter the lava head to the right and all the way at the back where the Cart is. Interact with it.

Urge Unfulfilled “With my life I’ll repay this title he gave me!” Completing the Horse NPC quest

You'll get the spell Dark Thunder and entry Ma Tianba (2/6).
Travel to 'The Emerald Hall' and run all the way up the path to where we fought the last Cart and speak to the Bull NPC again until he repeats.

Travel to 'Ashen Pass III'

Field of Fire
Facing the shrine look right for Lingzhi and beyond that is a tougher Nine-Capped Lingzhi but, before triggering it, look right for another Lingzhi and Meditation Spot (3/4). Now take on the mushroom boss and defeat them. You'll get the Earth Spirit Cap (2/10), the Nine-Capped Lingzhi seed and if you got all other seeds up to this point

Seeds to Sow Take more as fruit as your plants take root. Collecting all the seeds

(Don't worry if you're missing a few, we can still get them. If it's just the Date then its worth going to 'Valley Entrance' and running down to the lava and picking all the trees when you can).
Absorb the Spirit (7/11).
As this was the last seed for the achievement, I travelled to 'Zodiac Village' to hand in the seeds. This gives us the soak Graceful Orchid (3/4)

Travel to 'Ashen Peak III'. Turn left and carry on the path. The next section has you dodging a huge rolling ball., there are points along the way where you can safely stand. Head to the one on the right first and take out the Searing-Fire. Wait for an opening and run ahead to duck into the left with a Flamling.
When the ball is rolling to the end you came from, run ahead and you're safe on the right.
The next spot is up on the left and after that, on the left again with a Will.
When the ball rolls away from you, run ahead to the enemy and move past into the safe zone on the right. Hopefully at this point the ball rolls back and takes them out for you but be careful as here there's a Treasure Turtle. Loot the chest behind it.

The next safe zone is on the left with a Flamling. When the ball rolls away, run up until you spot a Lingzhi on the left and stand here, the ball will come past and hopefully take out the enemy.
When its safe, run up and duck into a spot on the left where an enemy will jump out and if you're able to dodge him he should have jumped right into the path of the ball.
Same deal with the next safe area, try and dodge the enemy so he jumps into the path.
You can try this trick out once more in the next area up on the left, its a bit tighter here.

Ahead is a scene, when you regain control look left and on the cliff edge is Will.
Continue on the path to activate the shrine 'Fallen Furnace Crater' but we want to turn around and head back along the path we just came from. Walk back checking on your left for a newly revealed path now the fire has gone.
Chapter 5 - III
When you find this path and head down, notice 2 things ahead of you. On the left is a Luojia Vine and ahead are some suspiciously 'boss' looking rocks. Try your best not to trigger it as explore this area and take out smaller enemies first so they don't swarm you during the boss.

Head left first to grab the Vine off the tree and kill the enemy. Carefully head down to the left of the boss for Will on the edge before we returning to where we came in. Now on the right side is a Scorching-Fire. Carefully head down the right side of the boss to find 5 more enemies to take out, with Will being next to one on down on the right by lava. When they're cleared out you can take on the boss and receive Flint Vanguard (6/9) and a Spirit (8/11).

Continue down the path and in the next area will be 8 Flamling and a chest on the left. From the chest, head around the rock on the right to find a patch of fire on the ground that you can interact with, which will trigger a boss. Defeat it for

Souls in the Stalks You’ve picked them all, the easy ones and the hard ones. Defeating all the underground/plant enemies

and entry Mother of Flamlings (7/9), absorb the Spirit (9/11).
Continue on the path, you'll find a Date on the right and then a chest on the left.
Further down the path is a shrine 'Cooling Slope'.
Now is a good time to farm the soak if it didn't drop for you yet. Either do it here killing the 1 Searing-Fire or go from 'Valley Entrance' and walk down the path killing a bunch of them until you get soak Flame Mediator (4/4).

Head forward from the shrine to a Lingzhi. Pass 2 enemies and you'll face another Cart.
Defeat it and receive the curio Flame Orb (3/5).
Talk to the Bull who is on the right side, we can now get through the doors ahead to reach a secret area. Head down and at the bottom, turn left into the water to take on a Frog.
Kill him for entry Baw-Lang-lang (8/9) and Pale-Axe Stalwart (3/6).
Walk to the back of the cave to be taken to the secret area.

A Willing Warrior "I'll live to serve him who brought my liege here." Entering the secret area of Chapter 5

Bishui Cave
Head into the cave, there's a Will on the left. Up the path are 2 Bull and a chest on the right which contains formula Septenary Heartfire Pill (2/2). Continue on and drop down, on your left is a shrine but first go right for our final Meditation Spot (4/4).

Scenic Seeker The most marvelous places for meditation have all met your gaze. Using all the Meditation spots

Activate the shrine 'Purge Pit' and follow the path to our next boss, collecting a Will on the way before dropping down. Defeat them for

Three Teams of Two The six valiant captains who only fight in number. Defeating the three duo bosses

and entry Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top (9/9).
Head up the steps out of here and on your is Will. Further down, look out on your left for a chest with a Stamina upgrade. Beyond 2 Bulls you'll find the shrine 'Cave Depths'.
Let's farm a curio here by going back the way we came to kill the 3 Bulls and get the White Seashell Waist Chain (4/5). It took me 3 runs with the drop rate items equipped.

Travel to 'The Emerald Hall', make your way through the boss arena and up the path until you see the big ball from earlier. Go up to it and get the Spirit (10/11).
Travel back to 'Cave Depths' and carry on the path to face a lot of Bulls and, at the end, a stronger one that drops a Spirit (11/11).

With Full Spirit Their mighty Spirits are now gathered within you. Collecting all the Spirits

Before you continue, there is a MISSABLE item! check down the left hand side of this area and make sure you open the chest with Bull King's Iron Horn. If you don't, you'll have to go to NG++ to be able to craft all equipment.
There's also Will.

Continue on the path, at a split you can climb up the rocks to Will and slide down one of 2 ramps or take the path to the right with Bulls to reach the same place. Look at the end of one of the ice paths for a chest.
On the main path you'll find a chest on your right before a sliding section. At the bottom activate the shrine 'Corridor of Fire and Ice'. Ahead is the final boss of the secret area, the Fireproof Mantle Vessel is good here.

Frost and Flame The merging of ice and fire, swift and severe. Defeating the final boss of the Chapter 5 secret area

You'll get the curio Daoist's Basket of Fire and Water (5/5) and the entry Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast (2/4).
We'll be back in Chapter 4 but you should travel straight back to 'Corridor of Fire and Ice'.
At the shrine we can Craft new equipment; Bishui Beast Staff (2/2), Bull King's Mask (3/10), Bull King's Shan Wen Armor (4/10), Bull King's Bracers (5/10) and Bull King's Greaves (6/10). As usual, the last of the equipment will become available after finishing the final boss of this Chapter.

Go back to the boss arena and over on the other side you'll be able to go through and up some stairs. On your right is Date and on the left is a Will and a glowing pot with an Awakening Wine Worm.
You can keep going along the path, its quite long and you'll reach a sliding section down to another arena but there's nothing here. It will out your map thought if you want that fully uncovered.
Supposedly, during the last boss fight you can lead him down here to change his attacks to Ice rather than Fire but I can't confirm it.

Travel to 'Fallen Furnace Crater' and head up the to the final boss of this Chapter.

Flaming Fury The golden child brought fire and smoke; when they cleared, the family broke. Defeating the final boss of Chapter 5

In the end screen, you'll unlock the final Vessel Plantain Fan and get

Treasure Trove "All the four vessels now belong to me!" Acquire all 4 Vessels

Congratulations on finishing Chapter 5! The final Chapter awaits...

Pause and pick our final Relic.
You'll have the following entries from Chapter 5; Red Boy (3/4), Yaksha King (4/4), Pingping (4/6), Rakshasi (5/6) and Bull King (6/6).

Head up this linear path until you reach a shrine. Along the way you'll fight a bunch of enemies and gain these entries; Hound Soldier (1/4), Jackal Soldier (2/4), Eagle Soldier (3/4) and Captain of the Course (4/4).

Activate the shrine 'Verdant Path'.

Travel to 'Zodiac Village'.

Brews and Barrels Now you can sate yourself with all the drinks. Obtaining all the Drinks

Travel back to 'Verdant Path' and move ahead for a boss.
Defeat them and watch the scene. You'll unlock the spell Somersault Cloud.

The Cloud Claimed Wings alone pale beside his greater gift! Obtaining the Somersault Cloud

You'll get the formula Ascension Powder (1/1) and entry Supreme Celestial Inspector (1/5).

Foothills
Take in the view and take note of this edge up from the shrine, I'll use it to direct you to places as we explore. As you can see, this Chapter is huge and open and the route is not as linear as past Chapters. We can fly about with the Cloud and tackle things in any order but, follow along with this guide for the best route to take in order to grab everything along the way. The bosses here will test your skills and resistances, you'll want to make use of your Vessels.

First things first, hop on the Cloud and give it a go! Go back to the shrine, stay close to the floor for now so we don't get too lost and just come back to the shrine if you do. From the shrine, head back along the path to where we first started this Chapter. When you're at a dead end and in front of a fallen tree, ascend on the Cloud so you can go over it and back onto land, it goes to the left and behind a big tree is a chest. Inside the chest you'll find Golden Feng-Tail Crown (1/8), Gold Suozi Armor (2/8), Dian-Cui Loong-Soaring Bracers (3/8) and Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders (4/8).

Return to 'Verdant Path' and fly back up to the edge we were at earlier taking in the view.
Look straight over the edge to a lake below you. Fly down here to face a boss.
After defeating them you'll get the curio Waterward Orb (1/2) and the entry Jiao-Loong of Waves (1/9).

Ascend up the cliff to where we jumped off. Facing back out, drop down just a bit on the Cloud and turn left, follow the cliffside keeping it on your left until you see another pool of water below you (on a cliff about half way up the height of this one). Beyond the water on land is a weird looking rock formation, our next boss. Defeat them for entry Poison Chief (2/9).

Back on the Cloud, keep heading in this left direction until you come close to the left mountain border with water below. To help, check on the map. This area is left of the shrine, you should be able to see a drawing of a tree with yellow leaves in the water, you want to be below this on the map. We're looking for a huge Grasshopper, if you don't see him wait around for a bit until he gets here (he jumps around the map periodically). When you see him, fly down and land on his head. This 'boss' is more of a check of your Stamina and Health, since we have all the upgrades we should be fine. You have to hold onto the antennae and make sure you keep it held down the entire time or you'll fall off and have to start again.
You will get the Golden Feng-Tail Crown (5/8) and entry Feng-Tail General (3/9).

Travel back to 'Verdant Path' and fly to the cliff edge. Ascend up a bit and follow this cliff edge on the right side this time. You'll eventually see an area on the right that is muddy with lots of fires and soldier bodies. Don't go near the middle here yet, on the grassy outskirts closest to the direction we came from is the shrine 'Rhino Watch Slope'.

Before we take on the boss here, let's take care of another Poison Chief. Facing the shrine, look to your right and up. Ahead is a tall rock formation, get on the Cloud and ascend and go to the top of this and over the side, keep straight and look a little to the left. By the cliffside ahead is a brown mud patch in the grass, the boss is here.

Travel to 'Rhino Watch Slope' and head into the middle of this area to face a boss.
The trick here is to break its horn with a fully charged Heavy Attack or something like the Wandering Wight Spirit.
Defeat it to get Gold Suozi Armor (6/8) and the entry Gold Armored Rhino (4/9).

Return to 'Rhino Watch Slope', face the shrine and hop on the Cloud. Ascend a bit and go straight forward until you hit the cliff edge, look over the right side to the bottom and land in the mud for a Frog boss.

The Clamor of Frogs Six frogs, six skills-how intriguing! Defeating the Frog boss in each Chapter

You'll get the entry Lang-Baw-Baw (5/9) and - if you've farmed everything along with me - the final curio Celestial Birthstone Fragment (2/2) giving us

A Curious Collection Every rare wonder the world can offer, collected and kept. Obtaining all the curios

Nice! Now we're going to do 2 more Poison Chiefs.
From the Frog boss arena, keep the cliff we jumped down to our back and get on the Cloud and ascend. In the distance you'll see lightning and some trees with red leaves. Start heading towards the lightning and on the cliff ahead, look out on the right near the edge for a clearing in the trees with the rock formation. Defeat the boss.

For the second, jump on the Cloud and ascend. Keep the lightning and red trees on your right hand side but try not to get too close. With them on your right, go straight ahead and over the cliff edge and over the water further below to the cliff ahead. You want to look for a tall, white, twisted tree trunk with no leaves standing out amongst the green. Just behind this is an obvious path of land with the boss.

After you defeat it, get on the Cloud and ascend. Look in the direction of the lightning and red trees and fly towards them. As you reach these trees, descend and get off before the obvious arena ahead and find the shrine here to activate 'Deer Sight Forest'.
Ahead is a boss, a tough one. The Wind Tamer Vessel will help you against its wind attack.
Defeat it to get Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders (7/8) and entry Cloudtreading Deer (6/9).
Chapter 6 - II
Travel to 'Verdant Path' and fly up to the edge.
We want to fly left to where we got on the Grasshopper. For reference, on the map look to the left of the shrine to the tree with yellow leaves and the next boss is in the section of water under this.
Fly there and defeat the boss for entry Water-Wood Beast (7/9).

From here we want to fly to the tree with yellow leaves.
As you get close to it you'll be put in a cutscene and a boss fight will follow.
If you die, you'll be placed nearby and there is a shrine to activate 'Mantis-Catching Swamp'. Talk to Zhu Bajie to get to the boss fight.
After the fight you'll get Dian-Cui Loong-Soaring Bracers (8/8) and entry Emerald-Armed Mantis (8/9).
If you managed to do them first time then you can activate the shrine now.

Facing this shrine, turn 180, hop on the Cloud and ascend. Start moving straight forward and you'll see a glowing green stone boss sitting on the edge of the cliff. Get off behind them and get a few hits in to start the boss fight.
Once defeated you'll get entry Son of Stones (9/9)

Now for the secret boss of this area, only available if we got all the Skandha previously.
Go to the edge where the last boss was sitting before the fight, turn 180 so your back is to the edge and get on the Cloud. Fly forward and keep an eye on the right side and you'll see a ravine you can go through. Follow this all the way up for the secret boss. It can easily one shot you if you're not careful.
Defeat it and climb its arm to receive

Treaded Tracks "Call off the chase! You've crushed every yaoguai here..." Defeating all the bosses in Mount Huaguo

We get the last Skandha and the entries Giant Shigandang (1/1) and Mandrill Chief (2/5).
Travel to 'Zodiac Village' and talk to Xu Dog, give him the Skandha and you'll get the Five Skandhas Pill that permanently increases our Health, Mana and Stamina! It also gives us

The Five Skandhas This powerful pill still carries her caring wish. Collecting all 5 Skandhas and giving them to Xu Dog

Medicine Meal "Here, have it, have it all." Collecting all the Celestial upgrades and the 5 Skandhas Pill

Travel to 'Mantis-Catching Swamp'. Face the shrine and turn to your right and walk into the water a bit. Get on the Cloud and fly up and forward to the cliff ahead, when you're up there look on the left for a path up the mountain and follow it to a waterfall.

Water Curtain Cave
Go up the path on the left and the end you can jump across to ground below you to be behind the waterfall. Follow this path until you get a scene and then interact with the item ahead to get Jingubang (1/2) and

Guardian of Gear You are fully fitted. Now, swing that staff and fight! Collecting the Monkey King's equipment set

Carry on and reach the next shrine 'Return Path'. Continue up the mountain destroying enemies until you reach shrine 'Peak of Innocence'.

Ahead is the final boss of the Chapter. We're going to do this to get the normal ending, then before going into NG+ we will choose to continue the game. This way we can farm XP or any items we still need and then get the secret ending (which includes doing the following boss again).
These end game fights are hard, but fun and memorable. Prepare yourself and continue.

Birthstone
After the scenes there are 2 boss fights, you don't have to do them in one go, there will be a checkpoint between them. Once you're victorious you'll get

A Duel of Destiny Two minds' long fray leaves but one to stay. Defeating the final boss of Chapter 6

You'll have the entry The Old Monkey (3/5). Watch the following scenes. Congratulations on completing Chapter 6! We're not quite done yet though, the secret ending awaits us.
After the credits you'll be back in the main menu, DO NOT pick Enter New Cycle! Pick Continue Journey.

This will place us back at the final shrine.
If you didn't yet farm all the random drop items or seeds, you will want to go back now and finish things off. You can wait until NG+ but you should know what you're missing so you can grab it.

If you've followed along with the guide you'll have most things and be at 69 achievements....nice.
One thing I suggest doing is going to the Blacksmith and crafting every weapon and armour piece that you can, don't worry about farming materials or Will now if you don't have enough, we will get more from NG+ and some things take rare materials that we can only get in NG+
Chapter 6 - III
True Ending
We're going to head back to Chapter 3, travel to 'The Great Pagoda'.
Do you remember getting this shrine earlier? Walk up the steps and talk to the NPC.

Mei of Memory Bonds from bygone days still pull at the heart. Reaching Mount Mei

Head up and reach the shrine 'Mei-Jian Peak'.
There are 3 boss fights ahead, there will be a checkpoint between each.
Ahead is what I think is the hardest boss in the game. It took me a long time but I found it fun and enjoyed learning their movesets. The Vessel Plantain Fan can help you break their shield quickly.

Once you defeat them you will be in a scene, after which you will be chucked straight into the next boss fight. This one is also really fun and epic but also a lot easier and less stressful, you can heal yourself by using charged Heavy Attacks.

After this fight you'll be put in the final boss of the secret area, it's similar to the last fight.
Once you're victorious you'll get

Meet the Match “Let go of him, and you let go of all.” Defeating all the bosses of Mount Mei

Watch the scenes and afterwards you'll get the spell Azure Dome.

Full of Forms Each guise grants a new horizon. Obtaining all the Transformations

You'll also get the Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear (2/2) and the entries Maitreya (4/5) and Erlang, the Sacred Divinity (5/5).

Travel back to 'Peak of Innocence' and now do the final bosses of Chapter 6 with the 'true' ending which will give us our final 2 journal entries as we go into NG+. Once you defeat the boss, you'll get a new ending cutscene. I knew I had to read into the lore after watching that.

Congratulations on beating Black Myth: Wukong! It was no easy feat to get this far and beat all the end game bosses.
We have a final few achievements to pick up in NG+, most of them are going to come very easily but some require specific rare materials with the last one being in the secret area of Chapter 5 so we have to play up to that point at least.
We keep all our skills, upgrades, equipment, spirits, etc so running back through the game becomes far easier. You'll know the levels, you wont have to pick any plants or fight lesser enemies if you don't want, you can run straight to most bosses and, now you know what to do, you'll be surprised how quickly you can get through each Chapter.
NG+ - I
After collecting everything that we could in our first playthrough and getting the true ending, we can now select Enter a New Cycle on the main menu.
You'll get the follow achievements

Portraits Perfected Humans, beasts, yaoguais, and the Bodhisattvas. All recorded and noted. Completing all journal entries

Six Senses Secured After all that strife and struggle, what's truly been gained? Completing the true ending and getting all 6 Relics

- You can fully explore them again and you'll get loads of XP and Will. You can try new builds, stances, spirits, spells, etc.

- Reach the Turtle and defeat Kang-Jin Star to get Loong Pearl (3/4) and then defeat the Loong in the South East corner for Loong Pearl (4/4)
- Reach Bitter Lake and if you missed the Bat spirit or Turtle curio then take the right hand path along the coast to the Snake skeleton to get the spirit, then the curio

- At The Valley of Ecstasy just follow the gates on the main path until you reach the Giant, you can even Cloud Step here and just rush to 'Longevity Road' shrine and head straight for the temple
- At Thunderclap Temple you can just run straight until you reach the 2 Giants before the boss, Cloud Step past them to head up the steps and activate the shrine. This Chapter was so loong the first time round and its surprising how much you can skip if you're not exploring
NG+ - II
Chapter 4
Pick a new Relic upgrade.

- The most missable item from this Chapter was the Venomous Armguard from the Venom Daoist boss fight. Hopefully you did it on our first run. If you miss it this time too....you need to go into NG++. You could always backup your save just in case

Go to the Blacksmith and make sure you've crafted every armour!
They are all included in this guide.
If you have no luck there, double check your armours against a list online as it's most likely you are missing just one piece from somewhere.

Yo! Im loving this guide so far. There's one mistake I noticed though and thought I should point out. In chapter 3 part VII, the curio you receive for completing the fox quest is the Snow Fox Brush, not the cat eye beads which we received much earlier in the game. Other than that, this guide has been an immense help and I really appreciate the effort that went into this.
