Overview

There are 6 aptitudes / classes in Reality Break. Each class can be unlocked by completing a mission on challenge level 15. Each class requires a certain mission type like survival, elemination etc. Every time you complete a challenge mission, your challenge mission range increases by +4. This is how you unlock higher difficulties.

If you complete cl15, you unlock the basis class. There are 6 traits within each class and a main "theme" or ability for each class. The first three traits are unlocked from the beginning with your corresponding pilot level, the last three have to be unlocked by completing higher challenge levels of missions. These are challenge level 25 (unique affix), 35 (favored stat), 45 (equipment boost).

You can have a look into your traits ingame by hovering over the class name in your pilots profile (C).

The traits will unlock with your pilots level at level 5, 15 and 35.

i will update the guide with new unlocked traits as i progress..

Missions
You need to complete challenge level 15 missions to unlock the aptitudes:

Salvage - Commander

Excursion - Tactician

Survival - Sage

Elimination - Stalker

Investigation - Instigator

Demolition - Predator

How to choose a class
You cant choose a class for a "new" character - you need to break EVERY new character at least one time to choose a class.

After breaking you should see all unlocked classes available.

Stalker

The Stalker uses a cloak while entering the battlefield to unleash devastating damage on unaware foes. Later on he can re-cloak when eleminating an ememy.

traits

Predator

The Predator plagues the battlefield with traps and does damage over time and crowd control.

traits

Tactician

The Tactician uses brute force or a clever combination of main and secondary weapons to overwhelm his opponents. He can use two primary or two secondary weapons in his loadout.

traits

Commander

He controls an army of up to five drones to defeat his foes. Drones have different improved stats and can mimic the players fate beam ability.

traits

Instigator

The Instigator casts his abilities with energy instead of cooldowns. He excels in energy regeneration and can even fire his secondary for free.

traits

Sage

The Sage overwhelms his enemies with resilience. He excels at regenerating health and energy and can withstand abnormal amounts of damage with the help of rejuvenation fields.

Amazing guide. Are there any other hidden endgame content features like this?
Why doesnt the game explain this stuff by itself lol

Tried doing multiple CL15 Excursion missions to unlock Tactician, even tried rewriting the mission type to Overlord, and also did it at CL16 for good measure. After several attempts and nothing working I decided to redo each mission type one after the next and ended unlocking Tactician by completing a Elimination mission.
No idea what was going on with that, but hopefully that helps if it happens to someone else.

@Shimaaji Once you unlock a class you can select it once you break the character.

Where can I actually select a class?
I've completed a CL15 mission and by now broken my character and nowhere have I encountered an option to choose a class or aptitude. :/

Look like only equipment dropped after you gain "Favored Stat" and "Equip Boost" will receive their effect.
