What this tutorial does
This tutorial uses the fan-made BLREdit application to connect you to the fan-made community servers, putting you back into the action. You will be playing Blacklight: Retribution within minutes after following these steps.
Download & Installation
**For the duration of this guide, you will be asked to look in the directory of your installation. It typically can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\blacklightretribution.**

Start by installing Blacklight: Retribution from your steam library. If it is no longer in your Steam library, please consult the link in the credits at the end of this guide.

The installation is as easy as four steps

Configuration
BLREdit will prompt you to:

  • Add a game client
  • Change your player name
Click on "OK" to continue to the settings tab.

Set player name
  • Replace BLREdit-Player in the Player Name textbox with your desired player name.

Add Game Client
  • Click the Launcher tab
  • Select Client List
  • Click on Add Client (at the bottom of the window)
  • Select [BLR]\Binaries\Win32\FoxGame-win32-Shipping.exe and confirm

Click on the server list to view the available servers. The link in the credits also provides a tutorial to set up your own dedicated server.

That's all! You can now immediately begin playing.

we need to make a server and make a day for this ( i used to play this on my ps4 and rank 60 ) and i did have this on my old old steam account to. but when i came back... it not here anymore.... but i here to make a video out of this again,... so any help.?

Unfortunately, no one in the US has chosen to host a server yet, so we're beholden to EU hours. Once that changes, I think there will be a boom in player count.

I also prefer BLREdit to play BLR, but there is another (even easier) method to get the game working that uses the actual in game UI. The ZCure method simply involves installing the game from your Steam library, dropping a .bat (batch) file (available from the BLRevive Discord) into the installation folder, then double clicking the .bat file or creating a desktop shortcut to the file. The downside to ZCure is that it isn't as complete as BLREdit, and is missing a few in game items/camos.
With the game and everything in it available, the only thing missing is players! Thanks for spreading the word with this guide, and you should make another guide for the ZCure method! Either way the only downside to the revive project is Hardsuit Labs has requested that we not promote the project (for legal reasons) in their official sites, or Discord, etc... so a "guide" is a perfect way to let people know how to play again!👍
