Traveling those 1000 miles...
The work needed depends heavily on how much you enjoy Fortix 2. After a couple of difficulty modes and/or Zombie mode you'll have succeeded by just playing the game. For me this one came naturally, but not everyone wants to spend hours of running through the land of Artalom for such a feat. For those I have a simple solution that takes pretty much no work at all.
Preparations
For starters, you need to pick the right difficulty. You have to pick "Easy". Other difficulties don't work because of the time limit you get on each stage. On "Easy" there is no time limit which is precisely what we want.
  • Click on "Profile" from the games start menu
  • Click on "Easy"

Done? Great. That was the most difficult part of our strategy. Almost there. Just a few steps left.
  • Start a new game or continue a previous one
  • Pick any level you want
Strategy
You should now be playing a level on "Easy". What most people usually do is running from one corner to another in order to gain miles. Should you do that? NO!! That kind of grinding is both boring, frustrating and is simply to ineffective.

What you should do is simply walk (in any direction) and let those miles pile up. You DON'T actually have to move to get miles. Walking into a corner or wall is enough. The mile counter will register that activity and you will be gaining miles with barely any brain activity at all :D

Want to remove the effort of holding down the button for walking? Fine. We can fix that to. Get some tape or something heavy and use it to put pressure on your walking button. Works just as well on keyboards as on gamepads.

Electric tape = SUCCESS!

Got the same bug than Misterhaan. I don't think it takes in count Fortix 1 even though I finished it, I checked the profile stats and it had completely crazy value like 7000000000000000 miles. It got fix naturally through the game and went to 300-400

Took me 13 hours of active gameplay to get this achievement. :D: I doubt 1 hour of running around will get you the achievement. More like 1 night.

You can use this trick on any level as long as the difficulty is set on easy. I actually don't know how long this will take. Set it up and leave it for a hour. If it isn't enough, repeat the first steps until you succeed. You can see how long you have walked in the "profile" menu at the start menu. Good luck!
