Take screenshots with Steam
By ʜᴜɴɢʀʏ ɢʜᴏꜱᴛ
In this guide, I'll present you how to trigger the overlay for the game as it doesn't natively support it. Keep in mind this workaround is pretty limited: you're only granted the ability to take screenshots and see your FPS, you can't access the UI and other features like you normally would.

Steps
In order to do so, we're gonna force the overlay exe to run on top of the game.

  • First, launch the game and alt-tab to get out.

  • Open the run command by pressing Win + R (the Windows logo key + R).

  • Now depending where your Steam is installed, paste the path leading to the GameOverlayUI.exe in followed by -pid **** -manuallyclearframes 0
here's an example if you have the default path when installed on the C drive:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\GameOverlayUI.exe" -pid **** -manuallyclearframes 0

You'll notice there are **** after the process identifier (pid), well the reason is simple: it refers to an active process explaining why it changes every time you boot up the game, therefore you'll have to edit this number anytime you'll play.

  • To find the current pid, open the task manager by either pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete then choose task manager or directly with Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Once open, go to the Details tab and scroll down until you find PrinceOfPersia_Launcher.EXE, next to it will be a random number and that is your session pid. You can now replace the **** with this number and hit enter.

  • Go back into the game and try to take a screenshot, if you hear the famous jingle it's on! If not, wait some more seconds, I usually know it instantly because I have the FPS counter on meaning the limited overlay is running.
You probably won't see the pop-up saying a shot was taken but as long as you hear the sound it saved one.

Note: this trick also works for the Sands trilogy.
So there you have it, have fun folks!
