Hey!

There are two endings, as far as I know.

You get the good ending by first collecting all 8 orbs (not sure what to call them- the white blue floating burning things) and then going to the core.

You get the other ending if you get to the core without collecting all 8 orbs. You can still get the good ending after this one- game makes a save before the ending so you can load it and collect any missing orbs.

There are also 7 energy cells scattered around. 5 of them give you some minor background info when you bring them back to the ship. The other two energy cells give you map and display areas on the map that you haven't discovered yet.
