How to defeat The Predator
By AGuyLikeGaston
This is simply a one-boss guide, as this boss frequently one-shots you, and how to defeat him can be a bit opaque.

Introduction
If you're viewing this guide, you've probably run into a boss that keeps one-shotting you, and you're unsure what to do about it. I know I was. This guide will go over what to do and what not to do to take this boss down.
How to spawn this boss
If you're viewing this guide, odds are you already know how to do this, but on the off chance you don't, I'll be going over that here. In the Green Cradle/Predatory forest general area, you will find, through exploration, an area on the map called The Sanctuary of the Beast.

Here's a wide shot of the location.

And a closer look, so you can see the names of adjacent places.

It's marked as a boss room, and has a console not far from the entrance. However, on entering, you will instead find a dead beast, and a wounded Hunter. The Hunter asks you to find his brethren, and ask them for a potion to cure his wounds. His brethren can be found in the Rustling tunnels area, which should become marker on your map after you accept the quest.

I believe this is where the Hunter should spawn, though without the quest marker I'm not 100% sure.

Speak to the hunter at this waypoint, and, if you have not already killed the Bug Rider, he will give you the quest to do so. If this is the case, speak to him again, and he will give you the potion. Once you have the potion, proceed back to The Sanctuary of the Beast. Using the nearest console before re-entering the The Sanctuary of the Beast is highly recommended. When you re-enter, you will find that the Hunter has given in to his wounds, and morphed into The Predator.
How to defeat this boss
As mentioned in the previous section, when you re-enter The Sanctuary of the Beast, potion in hand, The Hunter will have morphed into The Predator. He will be clinging to the ceiling, several times larger than the dead beast you saw the first time you entered the place. Once you are past the threshold of the boss room, you only have a limited time before he will perform a dash attack, locking onto your current position, grabbing you, and biting your head off. This move is an instakill, and it is undodgeable. However, it is preventable. As soon as you enter the room, proceed to the far side as quickly as possible-dashing or rolling may help- and get to the console with a flashing handprint. Press F, (or whatever your interact key or button happens to be) and the ceiling will become electrified. This will stun him, and knock him to the ground, allowing you to get a few solid hits in before the boss fight begins in earnest.

For the most part, the fight proceeds as normal-dodge his attacks, parry, use shields, whatever your playstyle favors. However, he will attempt to use the instakill again, multiple times throughout the fight. It is important to know when he's going to use the move, and when he's faking you out. If he successfully fakes you out-game over. The consoles on the left and right sides of the arena will alternate, but they take time to recharge. If you activate one at the wrong time, the other won't be up in time.

Luckily, he has a tell. Occasionally, he will jump up onto the ceiling, then soon after jump back down, dealing damage if he hits, but not instakill damage. Whenever he goes up onto the ceiling, wait a few seconds. If he comes back down, you're safe. If he starts running along the ceiling, that's his tell. He's preparing his instakill. Activate the console, and stun him again.

It is also advisable to keep the fight close to whatever console will be activating next, so when you activate the left console, try to move towards the right one, so you're never too far from the button when it counts, but also make sure not to have too itchy of a trigger finger.

And that's it. With that in mind, when he's not readying his instakill, treat The Predator like your typical bossfight. Dodge, parry, block, whatever it takes for you to stay alive, and for him not to. Hopefully this guide was helpful, I was a little confused when I first encountered this boss.
