What the Heck is Rogue Game Mode?
Rogue Game Mode, as the name suggests, is a roguelike version of the main game. You start each run at a random location in front of the rogue shop where you can buy your starting weapons/perks. You can choose from pistol, SMG, shotgun, assault rifle, and snipe rifle, but exactly which weapon you get is randomized. You then go around the world completing scans and gathering orbs, perks, and relics to level up. When you die, you have to start from the beginning, but you keep your rogue shop purchases and your level remains the same from when you die.

The goal of the game is to complete 14 scans. Each scan consists of three waves, where you have to kill 14 enemies, and each wave has a randomised perk that adds up (ie tankier enemies, paintball, more jetpack users. etc.) What's important to note (and what makes the rogue mode challenging) is that you initially start the game on medium difficulty, and for every 2 scans you complete, the difficulty ramps up, with the final difficulty being deathwish (the hardest one). This guide will hopefully help make Rogue Mode a little easier.

General Tips + Helpful Info
If you want to make Rogue Mode easier, you can play it on the easiest difficulty setting and add accessibility options, such as infinite adrenaline (slow mo) or laser sight. Keep in mind that this doesn't necessarily mean you can win the game on your first playthrough (the dev isn't kidding on the hardest difficulty being called 'deathwish'), but if you don't feel like tearing your hair out on multiple playthroughs, it's a start. (Or you can play it on the hardest setting and don't enable any accessibility options, if you live for the challenge.)

As you start leveling up, you can obtain more perks at the rogue shop that can make you stronger (and make subsequent runs easier). For example, once you reach level 26, you can buy an upgrade that gives your weapons more damage. After beating the finale you can enable certain cheats, such as godmode or infinite level, but I don't know exactly which level you need (will update if I ever get there). You can also enable or disable purchases whenever you visit the shop.

The rogue shop also has several options called "quickstart," which allows you to get to the needed amount of scans faster, but watch out! Enabling quickstart also means making the game harder at a faster pace. In other words, there's no way to avoid deathwish difficulty. If you're at low health and don't feel like starting over, you can exit to main menu at any time and start again with full health.

Also, you don't have to do only scans. You can explore a bit and find collectibles on different islands to help level up. Every action adds up. When you collect a perk that's not from the shop, it is automatically enabled; you have to go to the loadout if you want to disable it.

Finally, after complete 14 scans, you will have to complete one final scan. This can be at any location you haven't beaten yet. But be warned: according to the dev, it's seven waves instead of just three, and it will be on deathwish difficulty. Good luck!
Closing Thoughts
That's all I have for now. I haven't beaten Rogue Mode yet but once I do I'll be sure to add any other info I have. If you have any info or tips you want to add, just let me know in the comments.

Have fun!
