If you're like me and want to gold star all the practice modes, you may been struggling on Toro but using this guide you'll have a fairly simple and repeatable method for success.

How to win at Toro the intended way
In Toro the objective is to intercept passes between 3 opponents who've formed a triangle around you, to get a gold star on this challenge you'll need to intercept a minimum of 10 shots in just 30 seconds and is much easier said than done.

The intended method for this is to position yourself somewhere near the middle and intercept passes using a mix of dashes, extra effort and tackles. I'd be very surprised if anyone not on the development team has actually managed that though, even in perfect runs with no mistakes and good RNG I've never managed more than 9 points.

What to know to succeed the intended way:
  • Opponents will pass randomly, your positioning does not affect who they pass to. You can stand infront of an opponent and theoretically get 10 points without moving but this would require a lot of luck.

  • The quicker you intercept the fall, the faster a new pass is sent out. Don't wait for it to come to you, dash towards it. It really comes down to the second.
  • After intercepting a shot to an opponent, there's a chance they'll still be the next pass-taker whilst you're facing the wrong way. You can quickly tackle them to block the pass easily.

You're welcome to try the intended way and please let me know if you do actually succeed with it. Now for the exploity, much easier way I found.
How to win at Toro the non-intended, exploity way.
The biggest problem when playing the intended way is the sheer amount of luck required, if two opponents just decide to keep passing back and forth between eachother there's not much you can do. I've had many attempts where I've managed to get 8+ points very quickly and then the final 10 seconds RNG decided no.

However by standing behind an opponent and tackling them just as they receive the ball, it'll knock them forwards. Repeat this a few more times and you can not only shorten the distances between passes (so there's more passes total in the 30 second time limit) but it'll also be possible to move between all 3 opponents much easily.

This method still requires a bit of luck, but far less than the intended method, ideally you'd want the first few passes all aimed towards who you want to move forwards. Once they're closer to the other opponents, the passes and interceptions are going to be happening a lot faster than usual.

And you'll be able to easily reach 10 and above.
