The King
The King, once Armello's wise and benevolent ruler, has fallen ill to a dark and mysterious force known only as the Rot. Slowly eating his body and soul, the Rot twists him deeper and deeper into madness.

Game Effects
  • The King does not move from the center Palace tile.
  • Every Dawn he takes one wound.
  • Every Dusk he gains one Rot.
  • Every dawn he invites the Prestige Leader to pick that days decree.
  • Cards can NOT be played to the King.
The Kings Guard
The Kings Guard are his loyal hounds. They go were ever they please and do whatever their master tells them.

Game Effect
  • Kings Guards have two action points and act at Dawn. They will generally only use one AP, unless a "target" is within reach in which case they will use the second AP to reach them. Targets include Banes and Hero's with Bounties on their heads.
  • They will only attack Heroes if the Hero has a Bounty on their head.
  • They do not generally affect the ownership of settlements (unless certain King's Decree's have been played).
  • Killing a Kings Guard reduces your Prestige by 1.
  • They will move onto a Settlement if its is Terrorised and "calm the populace".
  • There are certain Kings Decrees which will cause the Kings Guards to go and Terrorise settlements.
  • Heroes can choose to attack them, but in doing so a Bounty will be placed on the Hero's head (check out the QuickStart Guide for details on the Bounty).
  • Certain Kings Decrees can affect the strength of Kings Guards, as well as their hostility ( check out the wiki for more info on the Kings Decrees http://wiki.armello.com/index.php?title=King%27s_Declarations )
  • They will attack Banes.
  • There is always at least one Kings Guard patrolling the Palace Grounds.
  • Cards that have a target of "Creature" can be played on Kings Guards.
Banes
Banes are creatures of the Rot, set on killing all who stand in their way. No one is certain where they have come from, but there are rumors they were let loose by the Kings sorcerers tinkering with powers beyond their control.

Game Effect
  • Banes start with 5 rot. Every Dusk Banes rot increase by 1
  • Banes have one action point one and act at Dusk, they can move over mountains without penalty.
  • They will attack Heroes and Kings Guards. They seek out settlements if no living creatures are in sight.
  • Being killed by a Bane will cause a Hero's Rot to increase by 1 point until the hero is corrupted. Killing a Bane normally grants 1 prestige. But corrupted heroes gain 1 rot instead.
  • They will not attack Corrupted Hero’s.
  • Generally one Bane will spawn each Dusk at a random dungeon. They will also spawn randomly as a outcome of dungeon exploration. This is far more common at night.
  • Kings Decrees can effect both the strength and number of Banes that spawn.
  • They will not move onto the Palace Grounds or Stone Circle tiles.
  • Banes regain one health if they defeat an opponent in battle.
  • If they enter a settlement that settlement will become Terrorised. Banes remain on Terrorized settlements until killed.
  • Cards that have a target of "Creature" can be played to Banes.

Another important mention, killing a King's Guard will penalize a hero one Prestige. Yes, even if they attack you, which is quite annoying at times...

1. Great guide to explain these 3 "units" to new players in depth.
2. You forgot the "y" in "they" multiple times, just pointing out.
3. You have "Banes start with 5 rot" twice in the list, probably because you added the one with "Every Dusk..." and forgot there's already a point much further down pointing the 5rot out.
- Overall: Good Work!:fhappy:

Good point Ryven ! In fact the ability to play cards to Banes and Kings Guards has only been added in the latest build :) I'll update the Guide right now.

An important thing to note is that while you can play cards on the King's Guards and Banes, the King himself CANNOT be targeted by cards.
